You do not know how happy I am seeing your video. I have seen internet articles about your conversion and I am glad someone decided to do a RWD conversion on the celica. The celica does not have a lot of audience for modification, tuners, and an aftermarket so this video really gets me happy for the celica community. Thank you for explaining how you did this conversion so more people can think of trying this.

Whoa! The finished car looks incredible, I'm honestly surprised how factory the engine compartment looks, as well as the perfect fitting interior, very impressive!

I own a Celica, and this is a dream above a dream to have. Love the Celica's so much. It handles so very well and it always feels like an adventure on the road. But I can barely drift with it because of the stock FWD.

If you just drive normally, nothing will change. Drifting is a bit quirky and requires some getting used to.

It's so clean, it even has the ac. Most rwd conversions don't even have the interior. Didn't knew that the IS200 was sold in japan, i thought it was only sold as the Altezza.

Awesome build! 3:36 Did you only mount the engine on the front? And when converting to longitudinal orientation, can you keep the control arms and sway bar? I was thinking about doing this to different car in the future.

Thank you. Mounts are made on the left and right of the bell housing part of the gearbox (the same position as normal) in addition to the front and back. Stabilizer is not attached to the front and back. That's fun!

that's right! Japan is strict about modified cars, so it is difficult to pass the official inspection.

How the Celica wanted to be from the factory. Very nice. I have a plan for doing something similar except with a LS 5.3L, a tremic tkx, and 4 link 9in out back so, imagine this but with over twice the power and almost 3 times the torque. I'm looking more at a fast street car and occasionally drag racing. And maybe to troll the import guys a little.

When the maintenance is needed, lower the engine!

新車86を114.3にして33Rホイール履かせてましたよね😂 サンダーお兄さんで観た時にプラグ交換はエンジン降ろすが滅茶苦茶ツボでしたw 手放したんですね… これからの変態カスタム楽しみにしてます♪❤

ツンドラさんを知るきっかけになった車両ですが、公認取れてたとは!しかもエアコン動くし… てっきり2ZZにはアルテのミッションがサックリと付くもんだと思ってました。あそこまで加工して、ちゃんと芯が出てるとは恐るべしです。

これが見たかったのです。ありがとうございます。 これ公認だったんですね、エンジンそのまま縦置きなのは公認対策ですか?こだわりですか? リヤメンバープレミオ用で、足回りそのまま使用とかピッタリ燃料タンクとかもう流石としか言いようがないです。

公認とれちゃいました! エンジンが2ZZなのはこだわりです! このセリカでやるからには違うエンジンにしたら意味がありません・・・ プラットホームが共通なんで、ある程度はポン付出来ちゃいます!

私も実は昔ZZTセリカ乗りでして、ツンドラさんはドリ天で何度もお見かけして、初めて見た時に「うわーー!!やられたーー!!」ってなったのを 今でも覚えていますww 一つ気になったんですけど、ナックルって他車種流用+加工って公認取るのどうやったんですか? 穴あけで強度確実に落ちるので落とされると思うのですが…私も加工ナックルで公認通したいので強度計算とかややこしそうですね💦 既製品の加工ナックルとかって公認書類出さないところが殆どなので…(そもそもZZTセリカ用なんてありませんがww)

加工ナックルは各陸運支局で対応がまちまちらしいです。 ウチの辺だと加工してあってもパット見で折れそうとか危なそうって思われなければ大丈夫らしいです。 厳しいところだと加工してあったら問答無用でダメってこともあるみたいです。
凄すぎる、インテRでこれをやったらもっと面白そう

that's right! Japan is strict about modified cars, so it is difficult to pass the official inspection.

No, I passed the official inspection by the regular procedure.
How the Celica wanted to be from the factory. Very nice. I have a plan for doing something similar except with a LS 5.3L, a tremic tkx, and 4 link 9in out back so, imagine this but with over twice the power and almost 3 times the torque. I'm looking more at a fast street car and occasionally drag racing. And maybe to troll the import guys a little.

That LS 5.3L is fantastic! I only wanted to convert it to RWD as "CELICA".
