Making a Simple Hydrogen Generator from Screw | make hho generator at home

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I show how to make a super fast and simple hydrogen and oxygen generator. In this method, I use electricity to decompose oxygen and hydrogen in water. And we turn it into hho gas.
Note that you should use drain cleaner or salt to make the water conductive, but if you use salt, the color of the water will turn green due to metal oxidation, so it is better to use drain cleaner.

    I was wondering if u can help me with some information. If u know. I am going back and forth with someone online about this process to run a car. They keep saying the battery will drain faster then it can charge. Bc u need to borrow energy from to do the electrolysis. But there are already patents that prove it works. water and electricity are great at releasing hydrogen from electrolytes and metals. All of that original energy that went into making the steel released, wonderful.

  • @kilroy2517

    @kilroy2517

    5 ай бұрын

    Um, what? The hydrogen and oxygen are coming from the water being split. This is simple electrolysis. None of the energy that went into "making the steel" is being released. This is a net negative energy system - you're putting more energy into it to split the water then you'll get out of combusting the hydrogen that's produced. That's why we don't have ICE's that use water as fuel. The electrolytes you seem to think are yielding hydrogen contain no hydrogen (if you're using salt) and are simply there to transmit the electrical charge. Even if you're using drain cleaner, which is NaOH, those OH anions can't leave the solution because they balance the Na cations. With drain cleaner, the equations are: Cathode (reduction): 2 H2O(l) + 2e− → H2(g) + 2 OH−(aq) Anode (oxidation): 2 OH−(aq) → 1/2 O2(g) + H2O(l) + 2 e− Yielding: 2 H2O(l) → 2 H2(g) + O2(g)

    I would give some advices for people who are going to make it: 1. Use Sodium hydroxide NaOH (it's easier to find, but does the job fine) 2. Use distilled water, to have a clear solution after it's been running for a long time 3. Used stainless steel wires (or glue them throughly to make the wires have no contact with solution) and use stainless steel electrodes (in here screw) (some of razors are stainless)

    Not if the electricity came from a free source such as wind power. Couldn't that be a solution to the inconsistent nature of wind and the storage issues surrounding electricity. thats what i was thinking, but it would be more efficient to have them mixed together in this scenario since it uses oxygen anyways, but for transportation and other things it shohld probably just he stored as hydrogen then pull in air from thr atmosphere

    You can use any other bottle with salty water, and you can also use any screw. You can generate hydrogen from 1 bottle too, and you can also use sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, baking soda, or calcium carbonate instead of salty water.

    the picture on intro page shows holding a glass bottle and an hho flame coming from a nozzle. HHO gas is a perfect mix and has an extreme burn speed holding a bottle and flame coming from it garanties glass potentially jnbeaded into hand or eyes. The only way to keep the flame from feeding back and causing injury is to have nozzle gas speed faster than a 9000 fps burn speed. omg

    You should use plastic bottles anyway. Most people use 2 security devices: Bottle 4 (the bubbler) and a device in the final output tube, the arrestor. It can be simplest a cigarette filter. Or: a metal pipe filled with steel wool.

    Please elaborate, I want to do this, but I need someone that can teach me. It would be much appreciated 🙏. Will a 12 volt car battery work for this experience? I want melt soft metals, is that possible. And what things I shout look out for. I have two sheets of non-magnetic stainless steel, im thinking that would be a better option then screws. It would be a pain it the but, but ill do it if it performs for my needs thank you and I do hope you comment back PLEASE!! Sincerely Deegan 777
