It's a southern gray tree frog, I've been in my house for 40yrs and never heard that noise in my life until this summer and I went NUTS trying to find out what kind of critter it was then one night four or five of them took over my aboveground pool and they chirped and chirped for weeks....pretty cool

I read that as Southern Gay Treefrog. I've listened to too many Alex Jones Podcasts.

The call was a gray treefrog (Hyla versicolor). They often hide behind gutter down spouts or under siding. Leave an outside light on at night and you might see one sitting nearby trying to snag some bugs.

Back in my bachelor days I had a 150 gallon tank with a dozen piranhas. 8 red belly and 4 yellow belly. They grew to about 7 inches, give or take. At one point I had 3 breeding pairs. They usually weren't agressive towards people. I'd even clean the tank with my hand in with them. Couldn't do that when they were nesting. They turned black and would bounce against the glass to try and get to you. When I was feeling lazy I would toss in a frozen chicken breast and they would tear it apart. Feeding live goldfish was messy. Scales went everywhere. Ultimately I ended up getting rid of them since the tank was huge for my small house, it took a lot of maintenance and the tank and fish were all pretty ugly. *Edit* I remembered the name of the yellow piranhas. They were called caribe. The red bellies I bought from the local pet store when they were about 1". The caribe's I drove about 4 hours to pick them up from a private party. They were about 3" when I got them. None of them were illegal at the time. This would have been around 2000-2003.

I too had red belly piranhas in a 150 tank in the early 80's. They were beautiful fish with personality. I think at the time they cost 25.00 each and were the size of a quarter when purchased. Got bit once when they were small. Razor sharp teeth, never felt it. Cheers.
I think you need to do and Arctic Grayling! Such a cool looking fish should be a good challenge for carving and painting
Both Marling and NDyak posted videos, what a fantastic fish video Sunday. Thank you Marling !

It’s a frog. Grey tree frog I think. Not a bird call. I know because I was fooled too.
Ahh Sundays! KZread and marling baits👌💥👍
Make a saltwater fish that will be cool. Recommendations. These are fish I catch where I come from. Snook lure, red fish lure, mangrove snapper lure, sheep’s head lure or like a pin fish lure would be cool

That paintjob is killer! Your lures are functional art.
I know it’s not perfect but the realism you have in this bait is absolutely awesome!
I loved the peaceful music used during painting.
I'm dying laughing at the music you're using while painting. Incorporating the bird noise into it is hilarious!🤣
Some folks, like my husband, are super fond of etymology - the origin of words and how they evolved. I love the amount of detail you put into the fins and into the baits themselves, they look amazing.
I would love to See you make a walleye swim bait to use for muskies 🎣 love your content man your a master at your craft!!
thats one of the best paint jobs you have ever shown and that eye is so money! Like you planned it that way.
I thought you where good in your older videos but your on another level. Sick skills.
Love the paint job.
Yay! Marlin upload day is always a good day 😊
In the old days, here in Brazil, when a cowboy needed to cross a river with a herd of cows, he had to take a cow and put it in the river before the others. this was done so that the piranhas would focus on just one cow, instead of biting and injuring several of the herd. This custom is called "boi de piranha" (piranha ox / piranha cow). Weird right? kkkkkk
Your artistry is mesmerizing! Plus it catches fish! Sweet...
This is the best paint job i ever seen on piranha lure... Good job man.. wow...
You mentioned river monsters!!! And yes, he did get into a tank of piranhas and was fine!! I love river monsters sooo much
Ah the annual hosing down the Hornets nest such good memories. Thanks for another awesome video, be well you're doing fantastic work.
Everytime I see you make a mold I really want a Laffy taffy
It would be cool to see you get that mould working right, make a couple cast lures, and compare them to this one. I'd also love to see you do a Northern Snakehead.

This was one of your most educational videos ever. Thanks
I like your background song choices on this video in particular ♡ Also always admiring your carving and coloring process
Was a very enjoyable watch on a Sunday afternoon.
The music on this one was hypnotic. Nearly put me to sleep. Wasn’t mad.
You have inspired me to make my own business and I even make my own wood lures! Tysm for teaching and inspiring us all!!
We need more and more and more! *such a needy community!*
A while back you said you fancied the idea of bedding and working on rifle stocks. I can tell you for a fact that making lures is much more fun I can build a mean rifle, but lures are still a work in progress 😆
Absolutely love the scoring.
"That could crack a nut".... I sometimes find myself laughing for no reason
That's a tree frog not a bird lol. Grey tree frog maybe
Your awesome man haven’t been on KZread ina bit you know I can right back to your channel. ❤ your baits 👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥
This was a super cool paint job man! Looks extremely realistic with some missing scales 👍🏻
Came here for adding gray treefrog input, glad to see others are on top of it!
Another masterpiece !!
That was a great "Fun Facts"! Love your videos keep up that great work! I got a pond in Indianola you can fish anytime!!
I found polycarbonate online with cool textures that would be worth making lips from. I really wonder if the "pebble" textured poly that i'm looking at could vary the action, and make a wobble search around a little more. A side by side with the same bait having a smooth lip would be worth a video imo
Loved the bonus wasp nest destruction can't wait to see the action next video.
It ’s a very nice lure👍 If I were a fish, I would eat it🇯🇵
Love the new background music! Beautiful fish, one of your best imho.
Very cool build. Great detail. My wife and I watched and she said the wasp tip at the end was awesome.
From making a beautiful piranha bait to blasting wasps what's there not to love about this video this man has more than one talent 👌😂
Another fantastic lure. Like the way you did the scales. You inspired me to draw something out now I must carve.
Looks amazing as always
This is basically how I’m learning about fish and fishing lures. I watch this wonderful gentleman and his educational program he produces 🥸😉
I have been waiting for this for a long long time, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you
Piranha bait? Maybe a one- day Amazon fishing Safari. I can picture MB in his khaki British explorers uniform, complete with chin strapped Pith Hat, pulling giant Arapaima from the darkest corners of the Amazon River. It's official, Arapaima like jointed Piranha swim baits!
I'm digging the ambient music. 10/10

Use what you have. I make functional lures out of essentially garbage. I made one out of some old vape cartridge I found, and it works just like a Got Cha lure. Surprisingly effective.
Can you please do a Murray cod bait? I think it's such an awesome fish and it would have a very interesting fun facts section. Love these videos! keep up the great work!
In Argentina they are called "Palometas", its the the grey skin species tho, much, much bigger than the amazonian red ones.
Great video! Keep up the good work!!
You are a true, professional artist at making fishing lures,, one of the best,, even the over seas guys ,, are not as good ,, close ,
Just woke up and saw the notification. Just like Christmas morning.
I spent many visits to the NE of Brasil and while there, was invited to dinner at the home of a Plant Manager. While visiting, we discussed fishing, etc. He left the room and returned with a large plastic bag with a large frozen fish in it. It was a Piranha close to 18" long and was 3#. It was the 'average' fish they catch in their river. I'm telling you it was a scary looking fish!
I love the videos of cool shaped fish like this

i used to watch your videos way back when but i never subscribed i was watching some river monsters and it reminded me of you and to find your channel i searched up "Man that makes his own lures" and i found you again! glad you still upload
I like the little bit of music. As long as it’s subtle. Maybe not every time but sometimes I like the sped up sound too
I remember watching a Larry Dahlberg show where he was fishing the Amazon system and a grandmotherly woman in the village where he was staying gave him a haircut using a set of piranha jaws as scissors. Also, that bird sounds like something in the woodpecker family.
I‘m from Germany and I love your work on this channel. Just amazing. I wish I had one of your lures to hang it on the wall. Thanks for your great videos!
My man that's what be of the nicest paint jobs I've seen you do!! What a beauty!! That scale netting actually makes it look amazing and realistic!! Great work! 👌🎣
Love your work man… you make it look so easy…
Amazing looking lure!
The lure whisper lol it asking for a lip lmao 🤣
Some species of fish can have quite a range of coloration, and in those cases usually the more colorful the fish is the more macho macho man fish it is. Your bait is like the Rambo of piranhas. They are also a popular sport and eating fish. Lovely bait.
Amazing bait as usual. The fun facts were fun aswell! I want to see this baits action with the lip. the paint job was cool looking. That bonus as nice to watch. Honestly I love the bonuses because it is more of the amazing content you create and make. On to the next bait!
Thank you for sharing another great video and I hope you get the biggest musky or pike on the piranha bait so I can see it on the next video...
