Can you make a lure out of leather or denim
You got me back into fishing I used to live for it but didn’t have anywhere to go besides lake bank fishing but now that’s all I do

Invest in a fishing kayak;) got a decent one off Facebook marketplace for 400$ 5 years ago, has worked wonderfully for me ever since and would recommend to anyone who wants to fish without the financial commitment

I recommend a kayak!
This is the kind of stuff I love about this channel. Quick walkthrough of the thought process, some machine work, and weird/unique lure making. Excellent work good sir.
Absolutely LOVE the gnarly series!!! Can we get a 10-12" "putrid pike" swimbait for the next installment of the gnarly series?!? Its been awesome to watch your progression in lure making. My favorite parts of your vids include: fun facts, "One-Day!", and seeing the action of your creations. Truly enjoyed the compilation video of you ranking your lures, it was like having a highlight reel of your videos! Keep up the great artistic skills! May your line be tight and rod get bent!

A pike would fit this style of bait well.
I've been watching for a lot of years man, this one might just be your Mona Lisa. Not only the bait but the video itself. Amazing editing and filming work..you make it look easy.. plus its so damn relaxing to watch. you're the Bob Ross of bait making.
I bought myself a 3D printer, and have been learning to use Fusion 360 CAD program. No, it's not the same as carving a block of wood, but the finishing process is the same. Sanding, painting, hardware, etc. It's rewarding when the bait works as intended.
The contrast between subtle and frankly pretty coloration of the lure and the gnarliness of it is honestly hilarious. Great job with this one!
5:11 I love the guy in the background, "That's amazing, that's absolutely incredible!" 🤣🤣
"A one of kind, gnarly chub" - I get one everytime a new MarlingBaits video gets posted.... . .🤭
Being a walking bait actually fits really well with the theme. A really frantic, sickly action. Awesome bait!
Everything about this video was awesome. The lure was spectacular and super creative idea. “Now it’s time for everybody’s favorite fluid”. The you proceed to explain how you almost gag smelling it 😂. Then the camera cut from the zapper to the expression on your face. Priceless. Your bait making and cinematography has grown leaps and bounds and you still continue to improve the quality. Never stop making baits and please don’t ever stop making videos.
Wow!! Outside of bait making you must be an incredible artist. Is that how your baits are so incredibly detailed. They're all little pieces of art!
Believe it or not, I always watch your videos while writing papers for school. Your videos always relax me and clear my mind. No cap.
No matter how much detail your going to put into a bait, you always make it look incredible! Your an inspiration!
I like when you do these “off” baits. This is such professional artwork. Reminds me of Halloween masks or something lol. Great job on this one. I enjoy the quality content you’re putting out.
And now my Sunday can begin 😊
The fact that you made this realistic makes this a freaking eleven! No neons or beef red meat to be seen. Please do more 🙏
Awesome bait!! I’m so glad the Gnarly theme has turned into a series. Looking forward to the next installment!Catching a pike with a gnarly pike bait would be great!
This series is great. The detail in the baits is fantastic!
Your right about catching fish at a spot in first few casts. Work larger areas cone back to same spots later. The narly chub is one of your best lures made yet. I love it.
We need more gnarly baits! You love it as much as all of us.
I love seeing people doing what they love to do.
This is the earliest I've been to one of your videos I love them I love the baits you make they are so cool
Love the Gnarly series!!!! 😎
Absolutely amazing, almost love watching as I love fishing
Marlin's words that need to be heard on a vid, "Oohne day!", "bicarb bakingsoda", "l did not fart was the chair", "starting with white", "not what. I am going for "😁😍
I love the gnarly ones! The hook is an awesome detail!!
It actually walks phenomenally!!!!! You are truly an amazing artist and fisherman my friend..... ✌️ ☮️
not even a minute in and im enjoying the vid lol, i completely agree with you. I used to draw vehicles alot for some reason but I remember that making them from memory or on the fly and adding my own details is much more fun than trying to replicate the real thing, you get so caught up in how close it looks to the original that you cant just enjoy making something.
I like the bug zapper part. 😆 I thoroughly enjoyed that build too. Good stuff man, and cool woodpecker on the bird feeder.
Thank you so much for the videos! You inspired me to start making my own baits and lures from scratch!
This channel is my go-to when I’m just hanging out bored. Cool ass baits and marling’s personality make this a great channel
The gnarly chub is beautiful! Awesome job.
Best looking lure ever brilliant!
Bro that intro was a trip. Great video. Just a cool nerdy snarky dad joke goof. Look forward to your stuff. I dig how you dont take yourself to seriously.
I really enjoy your videos. I especially enjoy when your carving, I get the impression that you think it is boring for us the viewer. It’s not. I speak for myself only but I would like less fast forwarding so I can enjoy the entire video. The time you share with us is much appreciated! Thanks for sharing your talent!
The gnarly series is the COOLEST!! You Sir, are on an epic level ++

All of his work is beautiful, but this one was really cool. Amazing!
The awesomeness of the awesomeness is pretty freaking awesome Broseph 👍💪🏻
Haven’t watched a video in awhile I forgot how satisfying it is to watch the time lapse
Dude the look on your face when that bug was frying in the zapper had me laughing so hard ....another awesome bait dude....
That looks awesome!!! Looks like a creek chub an your piranha in one!!! Keep em coming!!
A lot of detail in that bait, great job!!!
Enjoyed this, very creative and the attention to detail shows. Right on man, keep it up.
That lure is Awesome, Marling!!
What an insanely beautiful bait, the work you do is that of legends Nate
I love it! These gnarly baits are my favorites--after the late lamented anglerfish, of course . . .
I love your artwork videos , the art you put in your fish it’s just amazing but I do get a heck of a kick out of your gnarly videos too
Love it. Love your creativity. I'm hoping to see a gnarly sling shot carving/build this winter. I know you want too. Lol. Keep up the awesome work man.
It looks so amazing
I think the action is perfect for a Gnarly bait. Just completely fits and should be an incredible pike or big bass lure. Absolutely love the hook in the top. Incredible man.
Dude, that’s a sick bait!!! I love it!! Keep up the good work. Yep
Wow my dude! You are an amazing artist! The time and effort put into these pieces are so impressive. Thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best!
Missed this one earlier today somehow. Now I have time to sit down and fall asleep watching some quality gnarly bait making
I liked your video so much I had to watch it a second time I think it's the first time I have ever seen a zombie creek chub and it's just awesome thanks so much for making it I guess it shows there are people who can think just as twisted as myself lol great video.
That is such a beautiful bait…great work
I absolutely love this! I'd fish with that every time I go
wow just wow ur so talanted and this has to be one of my fav videos
Hat off, this build is fire🔥 And the hook is an insane detail💣
Been a while since I've asked about box/puffer fish but a gnarly puffy could be fun. Thanks again for another lovely bait.
Hello Nate, I saw you talked about how the hard lateral line easily chips because the epoxy voids hard edges. This is easily solved by either a matte clear coat sprayed over beforehand. You can also use a spray on finish like I have seen in a few of your other videos, as it will bond immediately to the body wherever it is sprayed to keep the paint from chipping on the hard lateral line. Nice work and I enjoy the videos, Tommy.
This is the kind of bait I wish I could make! It's so pleasing to look at
Love the gnarly lures! They look awesome. 👍
Best video yet. Do more of these gnarly builds
Love your work
Such a funny transition from voice over lmaoo, love being entertained keep up the great vids
I cannot thank you enough for this channel
Can you make a wels catfish. They have a lot of details and military patterns of colour. Great video❤ it has been very calming to watch what you can make out of wood.
I've seen a lot of "gnarly chubbs" in my day but this is by far the best. 😉
What an awesome looking lure! Your skill is incredible.
That thing is so cool!
Keep up with the amazing work. Well done!
As an artist who has carving in his wheel house, I'm always inspired to carve after watching your videos.
Fascinating lures Thanks
haha finished product looks awesome ! I want one !
This build reminds me so much of a Tiger fish that we catch here in Southern Africa fresh water rivers.
MASTERPIECE!!! REALLY, IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
Love the close ups of you cutting towards your hand. Ha! Desperate Chub was my nickname in high school
I love the gnarly baits! I’m kind of obsessed with gore, so fits me well. Freaking awesome!!! 👌
That's a good looking set of pectoral fins, very 3D... nice carve.
Yesssss! I neeeeded this
Man these videos light up my day! Just lost a big bowfin yesterday and it ruined my weekend, until I saw this video. It made my weekend a whole lot better. Thanks man!

Love these vids
I love the paint job on this lure; the "distressed" bait has a "natural, normal, realistic" body.
You've been cranking the videos out my good man.
My first notification after becoming a new sub.... life is good! Thanks for the awesomeness Nate Dog! Anyhow...
Nice bait, love it!
Great podcast in the background!!!
I heard some Clutch in there. That just made my appreciation for your channel a lot stronger.
"Resin. It just... because resin. That's why." No truer words have ever been spoken
Love the gnarly series they look hella sick
My favorite... Master... Baiter...
These gnarly baits are incredible. I mean I would buy one.
Another great video. Have you considered doing some sort of Lazy Ike? It is an under appreciated but rather effective bait from the 60s/70's. I think you could make it look like a leach or a wounded fish that is swimming more vertical than horizontal.
Love your videos
