I gave a bunch of cranks with this pattern to a friend who is a charter captain with 40 plus years of experience and he immediately ordered a bunch. For walleyes, don't overdue it, and just use a strip, but for larger species, I would do this from the end of the foil to the end of the lure. The back moves the most, so this is very important.

Nice job! But i would consider to properly seal balsa, i mean soak it fully. Now it works like air ballon, you have hard crust but hollow inside, balsa is far to soft only for superglue seal. You hit stone, wobbler gone, bigger predator fish, will destroy it also. Try to use propionate, it will change your life

That everyone has the right to their own opinion 😀, if this has happened to you, then your concern is justified. Maybe your protection was not good. Try envirotex resin, it is tough and elastic. One-component urethane is also a great thing. I really had no such problems. I don't know if you know, but some manufacturers of lures do exactly that, they put helium in their lures to increase their buoyancy because that's how they increase the weight of the lures. At the same time, it is possible to cast lures further. I believe that the buoyancy of balsa is destroyed by unnecessary internal impregnation. I think it disturbs the swimming of the bait itself. @@luresmaking it’s not the case of quality of resin, if it never happened, it means no serious trophies been caught. Balsa sealing increase quantity of lure. And to make balsa sink it’s far to light. So it’s not the case of weight also. I just do as real professionals do. If you get serious salmon in river, wobbler with superglue seal will fail sooner or later. I’m not the inventor of sealing, but i think mass wobbler makers do that for a reason. I wouldn’t sell wobbler without sealing, i can’t guarantee that it will work on 100%

@@luresmaking i could show you if i could attach photo whats happening to balsa lure with superglue seal and 3 coats of resin and varnish on top, 10+kg just destroy lure easy, strong curent , big stones and powerfull fish just destroy lure. But everyone does lures their way, so it can be endless converstion :) anywqy, from my point of view, from all lure makers i have seen on youtube, you are definitely in top 3! Yes, although sometimes it doesn't happen. Sometimes the envirotex does not cover the seam. Although there is a quick fix for that too. After two hours from the first application of Envirotex, you can apply another layer of Envirotex. The first and second layers will merge and dry together. 😀🙏
