Love it, great work. Was noticing your arm setup too, I've been considering building a pair of tubular arms for my Celica. I hadn't really considered making a vertical to horizontal bolt pocket back where the single vertical bolt was stock. I was going to use a uniball. But after seeing your arm, I'm certainly rethinking it.

Super slick. I believe i burned up my stock wheel bearings in dirt in a very short period of time, i was just thinking about going down the Prius knuckle route so this is incredible timing.

I would be keen on a set for my St165 and for my st246... Can we buy the pre cut plates from you.... Or you should look at getting a short run of these made... This will save alot of Celica and Caldina owners lots of hassles👍👍👍... Probably most of GtFour owners club NZ will buy them... Probably a lot of overseas interest as well

They will be up for sale at some point, potentially as both a steel fabricated component but definitely as a billet alluminum item. I can almost guarantee that no one in NZ will buy one haha. i have sold many LSDs and control arms over the years they 100% all go overseas.

Did you check the drive shafts splines are deep enough to allow the Prius bearing face to meet the flat part of the joint. So 2 flat surface touch when torqued up On the st205 it’s hit and miss, some run a small spacer , I removed a small amount of the splined area inside the bearing.

  • @hawes_power5590

for me, the flat surfaces mated up perfectly. i guess there is a few slightly different designs of CV. So you have changed your 205 to mcpherson??

@@hawes_power5590 Yea I only do UK circuit racing, I originally changed to McPherson in about 2015 using st202 parts. But used to eat through front left bearings in about 2 races. (Using 245/40/17 and a trd/kaaz front and centre plated lsd) I’m friends with Eric on Facebook who’s st165 did the orginal Prius conversion by TCS Soon after I copied it …the conversion on to the st205 is a lot easier as the lower ball joint on the prius is the same as the st202. For steering I’ve flipped the tapered cup in the hub and use ct200h tie rod ends I’ve made custom adjustable lower arms, but st202 arm could be used I’ve done a bumpsteer test and a few other checks, it could be slightly refined but has not failed in a few years and has taken some big curb hits. Trd/kaaz diff is a little damaged so need to repair it . Using oem front setup with a Phoenix power gearset. Yokohama a052 (245/40/17) next race Been thinking about a dog box, but have to use a manual gear change due to regs

@@hazeegt4 sounds like a pretty cool car! interesting that the 202 ball joint is the same as the prius. That trd/kaaz diff setup is certainly a unicorn. the SQS dogbox has worked great for me so far

How does shortening the steering arm effect the steering? Can you feel the difference on the wheel? Looks like a shorter arm with less leverage on the Prius. That's why i ask. nevermind!

it will quicken up the steering which is good, but make it heavier. It also adds some bump steer

I wouldnt say they transform the car, but a little extra caster certainly helps turn in grip. plus being able to dial in camber where the factory has no adjustment is quite nice. many small upgrades add up to a nice handling rally car, the arms are just one part of the equation
