Making a Living Roof On My Log Cabin

Chainsaw milling logs into slabs, building a roof structure, covering with plastic, and planting moss and wildflowers on my tiny Alaskan log cabin.

Really enjoying watching your progress. You seem pretty handy! Its a shame about the metal panels. The plastic may degrade in a few decades. Maybe not though as it is UV light which causes a lot of the degradation so maybe the moss will provide enough protection against that.

Being a Kansan, I can't help but think of the sod cabins built by the settlers of the old Kansas Territory. I suppose when your materials are the land and what grows on it, you do what you have to do.
