Making video games can be really tough. But thanks to cool game engines like Scratch, it's incredibly simple. It uses a high-level, visual scripting language to help teach kids and adults how to program. And honestly, it's perfect for people who are asking the question "How to learn how to program?" or "How to make video games". And after my last programming video using C++, let's see just how easy Scratch MIT is to use.
Today I'll be making a game like Pokémon, Digimon, or even Tamagotchi. A little creature raising game in Scratch. I've been a huge fan of the creature taming/digital pet genre for awhile now. Can I do it?

Got some ideas for this :) - Clicking on the "monsters" will make them play a small animation. The animation will vary depending on the type - Different monster, other than the regular chick that would do different stuff - Maybe add a house item that lets you store some of your monsters, to decrease clutter. Every house will differ depend in how many monsters you can store - Save and load system

TIP: You should make the egg hatching to take longer, and you see a timer or smthn above the egg, so u know when its done. When you click the egg its gonna hatch faster. Also you should make the coins spawn with a sound, and do the little guys on the top layer, and the coins at the back layer. So that when a little guy walks over an egg, the egg isn't on top of that little guy. Also, you should make the hitboxes a llittle bit better and a bigger hitbox for the coins, so u dont have to exactly click on it.

In the shore sprite, how about changing the "set y to" block to a "set y to (-100 + (10 * (sin of (timer * 200))))". This allows for it to be in the exact same place, even if turbo mode is turned on (shift-click green flag).

  • @JoziGlitzh

The layering seems to be a bit messed up, I'm pretty sure it's because the Pojohs are centered. They should be above the center Pivot thing so that their size won't influence how they're layered.

A cool idea would be to give them walk cycles, it would be so cool for them to turn and walk.

Very cool! What program do you use for creating custom fonts?

Turbowarp has some cool features like 60fps, custom screen size, camera movement, custom cursors and much much more. It also allows you to export your game as html or zip and more. By doing that it also hides the green flag, the stop button, or any of the scratch UI.

I would love to see you make a Keeyp video game so you can play online with friends. It would be amazing. Games like Life, monopoly, and other board games are in digital form and are all fun. So if you could make a keeyp video game, it would be amazing I just watcheed your keeyp video and recently got interested in game making. you might have 124k, but you are still underrated. You earned another subscriber. I believe that a dev log would be amazing for this and I hope you can make it.

What font do you use? I've been trying to find a similar one without buying affinity...
