Creating video games can be tough, but with an open source game engine like Godot it is really easy to get started. Godot is great for beginners due to its node-based system, high-level scripting language GDscript, and the fact that it’s completely 100% free. And honestly, it's perfect for people who are asking the question "How to learn how to program?", or "How to make video games".

I like the use of drop shadow but if it's not uniform (which it doesn't appear to be) it shouldn't rotate with the object. The shadow should always be casting below the object.

Yes he could've made a shader, but I don't think that having realistic shadows was the point of the video.

Amazing video! I recently made the switch to Godot and had time to make a game for the Autumn Jam using it, the engines great fun and I really enjoyed working with it. I really like the game you made! I'm loving the portfolio of little vector mini-games your making, It'd be so cool to see them all assembled into 1 big party game (may be difficult to do since their all in different engines but fun idea nether the less!)

He's not dead! Hallelujah! By the way could you do a video with the history of your game studio? I'm curious how a small indie studio functions and how yours came to be.

Hey Goodgis, Im trying to make a flying enemy and I was wondering how to make the tilting effect? Because it looks really nice and would fit well.
ok now I wanna make my own version of this game
Man I wish I could understand code properly, you make this look easy.
Best KZread channel ever.
You should make it so the each eye and mouth are individual parts then you can make it so that each run the balloon's eyes/mouth are mixed up. Could be funny having one sleepy eye, one dead eye and a sad mouth.
Any tips on how you created the triangles? Did you create a sprite then add that as the sprite for particles?
wii needs this they dont even have to change the sounds or the font:)
I was wondering what program you used for the awesome art! Is it free?

HI! I am a boardgame author but I follow your channel because your videos are a source of inspiration also for my type of passion. I recently created a small tabletop game that recreates the feeling of the game of 15 (you know, that little "chessboard" where you reposition the numbers in ascending order by sliding the various tiles) but in a minimal dungeon crawler style. I tried it out at a game creators convention and many told me it would be a perfect game or app. I just don't know where to start, or even who to ask if they want to develop it. do you have any advice for me?
@Goodgis
3 ай бұрын
That's a tough question. Your best bet is probably developing it yourself, as painful as that sounds. Most publishers are most interested in full release games or just shoot your game down because they don't like it. Also paying someone would be pretty expensive.
