learned my lesson back in 2001, and bought a CD burner, never lost anything since then.

I suggest the use of a (oversized) Uninterruptible Power Supply, also. Protect your keyboards, computers, mixing desks and data storage devices.

Excatly. If you ask someone what's the most important stuff in their computer, most people answer "IDK, the graphic card maybe?" (meaning the most costly). But When you tell them that it's their Data (which you cannot replace) and that Hard-Drives are the least reliable part of a computer, they start to get it. Getting a automated backup of the important stuff on remote (hidden?) hard-drives using a NAS on network is another thing to consider, in case of a fire or of stealing for exemple.

Wow, i never knew this level tech was commercially available to us. First time hearing of this brand & configuration. Makes me think of the times when people tried to explain to me how online drives actually work(actually hardware stored in super computers somewhere in the world). Makes more sense.

I tried to go with them so bad, but just wasn't a good fit for me, but I truly love the concept.

I heard RAID and rolled my eyes. You haven't lost any data yet. Once you do you will go beyond RAID. Trust me Jamalm trust meeeee!

Good backup methodology. I only mess with solid state though. I know it's more money, but I feel SSD is way more reliable.

How big is your SSD setup and what are you holding them in?

@@GospelMusicians Not big at all...only 2 TB. I don't produce or record for a living so that's enough for me. In your case, I know it would get very expensive to go strictly SSD.

That sucks man appreciate the advice though. RAID may be the way. Just need to actually start recording one of these days...

thanks a lot but a question Raid isnt always the best isnt it? cause e.g. if you got a virus it gets replicated on the Raid system doesnt it? and 2nd question do you use a storage box for external backup in a different hourse or specific service or something? cause i would never store backups at one place.

    1. If you get a virus, then no backup schema is safe from that 2. Yes we use a storage box for external backup and we store it in a safety deposit box as per Here: 2:53
