On automatic transmissions, sometimes air gets trapped in the transmission. Turn off the truck and stab the brakes until you're completely out of air, and then turn the truck in and build the air back up. This should work if this video doesn't.

I've got a brand new 2023 T680 and every once in awhile I get this weird issue, especially when I'm trying to back into a dock, I shift into reverse and it doesn't want to go in reverse. At first I thought it was because the air pressure had got below a hundred but this time it didn't matter whether I shut the truck off, turned it back on, let It fill up with air or what, it wouldn't go into reverse for 5 minutes or so and then out of the blue just decided to engage. This happens periodically.

I've got a 2022 Kenworth T680 and it's a company truck but the first time I ever tried using the jake brakes on it was recently when I went through Donner Pass today in Northern California I took it off the Jakes and then transmission fault I had to find a way to keep the truck moving until I got to Ripon California the Flying J

@@cactusflower8736 negative, talked to our mechanics and they said the clutch went. I mentioned this video about the key and he said it does reset it. But I sat for 3 hours and went on a paid hike on a nice Wisconsin ice age trail so it wasn’t terrible

That is an active fault code for a clutch issue. You will need to take the truck to a dealer for diagnosis.

Usually that means it needs fluid/greased. It could be a faulty sensor too. I know there were issues with it getting wet and shorting out sensors when it was raining.

I have same issue is gone after I fix harness problem

I have a 2018 and random faults just come and go. Usually starts with adaptive cruise, then transmission fault, abs, tc. They go off in a few minutes, then back on at random times and back off. Shop replaced clutch actuator and gas exhaust sensor $4700. Soon as I got in and cranked it, they all came on. I can't find anyone that can solve this. Any ideas? Maybe ABS wheel sensor?

It’s going to need the harness replaced. We have a fleet of these tractors and we are replacing them one by one. They are a pain to do but necessary

A bad stalk shifter was causing mine to have the fault.

Found mine to be kicking me out of gear as soon as I stop and can't grab a gear to go again engine break normal trips the fault on my 2023 t680 . Shut it off clear the codes let it cool 30min unplug the yellow clip to the shifter stock n pop it back, after kill8ng all my extra bunk volt loads .

My peterbilt does the same thing when I use the jake brake. It will not shift on it's own anymore and it will just tach out in 8th or 9th gear and stay there. I have to manually shift into the next gear. That's after I shut off the jake brake of course.

it usually happened when it overheated on the old t880 that I used to drive. I backed up on a ramp going upwards here in AZ.

You’re driving it too roughly. CA means clutch abuse. You’re clutch is overheating you should stop and let the message go away before continuing to drive

This is to get you to be able to move, if it happens more than a few times in a short period of time, get to the shop. There are many possible reasons a fault can occur. One of the biggest reasons is trying to change direction too fast, you need to wait for gear to engage before trying to move. Wait a second or two when going from forward to reverse or vice versa.
