Talking of free kicks taken from the wrong place what about the infamous Gary McAllister one? Not only was it given for a clean tackle it was taken from at least 10 yards ahead from the actual incident. That doesn't let off Paul Gerrard though for his abysmal 'effort' at keeping it out.
