I've got this monofin. i love it ; i had a very good propulsion with it .But my feet don't love it . If you use it every day with neoprene socks . it hurts you. but i did take exactly my size and i open it with cissors for my ankles and my toes to be bigger.It still hurting me. I buy a magictail then an aquarius monofin. but it's not the same. I'm expecting now a silicone tail by Mertailor the spellbound one who i hope my feet will be comfortable and would have a good propulsion. Thank you for your review . i like them. you do a good job.

It is a bit heavy for a kid under 13. But if you are a teen or an adult you can start with this fin no problem.

Hi Jessica, unfortunately you cannot modify this fin to widen the pockets without compromising it's structural integrity because it is a solid piece of recycled rubber. You need to measure your feet carefully and compare both your food width and length to the size chart on the website and even consider buying one size up to fit neoprene socks that are essential to protect your heels from blisters.

Emma Howard It might sound weird but you can streach and massage your feet and ankles before you swim and that should help with foot cramps :)

Hi Emma, to prevent cramps, drink lots of water before your practice and eat bananas for the potassium. Also check that the straps both fit well, because a cramp may happen if one strap is looser than the other and you end up favoring one of your feet/leg for propulsion even if it is very slight and barely noticeable. Fortunately you will get them less often the more you practice. Also, if you get one, you can hold on to the edge of the pool with one hand, and with the other grab the middle of the monofin and pull it towards your chest while keeping your legs straight. It helps relax the muscle.

I have a large Mahina monofin and I wear socks but I still got a nasty blister on my foot. Seeing you wear neoprene socks... which brand do u recommend? And does the mm size matter or no?

I don't have a specific neoprene sock company to suggest but look for at least 3mm thick and also something that protect your ankles.

Keep an eye on deals on amazon, the finis aquarius for children is sometimes as cheap as 25$ and the foil is often 40-60$. Sometimes children's monofins fit lucky adults with small feet. In the meantime you can practice with bifins.

I wish I could get this one but it's too expensive for me😢🐚❤

I would recommend to go with the Aquamermaid tail as a first tail. It is light weight but really resistant. It has individual foot pockets. It will give you good propulsion power and allow you to progress into more advance movements. aquamermaid.com/collections/store/products/mermaid-tail

That's just not true at all. Many people cut Mahina fins. Since it is all one rubber piece you will do literally no damage. And regular commercial tails like fin fun or swim tails skins will not fit on an uncut Mahina.

The audacity to review something after literally destroying it like you just reviewed a damaged monofin
