​@@warbler8941yeah but fabric falls apart quickly and you'll end up buying at least 5 fabric tails for one silicone! Plus the fabric tail has around a third of the details! They're great to start with but nothing compares to a silicone tail! Please don't think I'm being snarky because that's not my intention I'm only pointing out the difference between the two and why it's more cost effective and realistic to buy silicone vs fabric but especially if it's a career vs hobby. Because one you work to support while the other is to support you but if you're blessed both can be true 🥰

Yes, a lovely tail that lasts less than a year without nearly the details! Everyone always has a cheaper version but you lay out the best of their tails vs just her's and they're not even close to the same quality and you know it. It's disingenuous and a straw man argument and you'll have to buy at least 5 of their best to equal one silicone tail lol and let's see how many second hand fabric tails you can buy, that holds their value like a silicone tail would! Her tail is worth every single penny especially when you get a side by side of them in the water and the way they move, because there's a reason fabric isn't used for diving! The weight alone makes 90% of the moves they're doing impossible and don't even get me started on the weight of a wet tail, after the water and the wait time for the DaNG thing to dry completely!!! $2000 is beyond fair and priceless when you consider the time you get back from maintenance alone because time is the one thing no amount of money can buy more of so WHY waste the time you have left if you don't have to!?!

@@calinbrown517fabric tails do not last less than a year unless you’re throwing that thing off of a cliff after every time you take it swimming. I have a $30 fin fun tail that has held up for over 6 years now with proper care. Fabric tails are incredibly durable if you actually treat them correctly.

It's basically fursuiting in both practice and cost. With the major upside of being watercooled and not a human toaster oven.

Never give up! I have several tails most are from finfun and are cheaper tails but with proper care they last! I've had some of my tails for several years and look like I just bought them.

I do mermaiding as a personal hobby, and i can say that a normal tail isn’t that much. Hers is a custom textured one, probably made in a mold to fit her legs. You can get a high quality unprofessional one for 30-100 dollars.

When you buy these things you’re paying for convenience. If you want to make them, go ahead. But some people don’t have the thousands of dollars worth of equipment you need TO make those details and accessories. Nor the skills.

At least as a professional mermaid you can write the tail and accessories off as a business expense. You need the tail to do your job. I want one but will probably start with a fabric tail to learn with. Maybe after awhile I will invest in a nice silicon tail.

Mermaid dreams can be attained! I have several fabric tails. I have several from fin fun that were 120 including a monofin which you can buy once and use with all their tails. I just bought 2 finfolk tails that with taxes and shipping were 415 each hut i saved up for those. You dont have to have a 3k tail to attain beautiful mermaid dreams!!!!!!

Yes it is pretty expensive. To be a murderer man or a mermaid. I learned a cheaper way of doing it I learned how to make them myself but yes it can be pretty expensive. But if it's something you love to do something that you dreamed of doing for a long time like myself it's worth the price. Plus you can make your money back by performing and shows and showing up at parties❤

You usually have to buy silicone tails custom made, but finfun and finfolk have relatively cheaper fabric options to learn in. Accessories are also normally custom.

See if any local aquariums have mermaid job listings! There may also be local businesses that do mermaid party gigs as well

OK I know you’re never gonna see this and why would I be interested source but a company film the commercial in my pool and because of this I’ve gotten a discount on their products and I’ve learned so you don’t need my discount on the products to get a better price and if you look up a whole bunch of companies, they offer different things for professional mermaids who work in their area so if you find a company that is specific to your area, they might be able to offer you discounts

A few reasons… 1) You’re raised to view mermaids as the embodiment of beauty and magic. 2) They are much more associated with the entertainment industry, thus deemed as a source of income compared to just an expensive hobby. 3) There’s no anonymity which gives you a sense of security. 4) Facial expressions being on full display and makes understanding how the person is feeling without having to ask. 5) Mermaids are pretty much universally loved. Pretty for the boys and a sort of living childhood fantasy for the girls. Meanwhile furries are in large part made up of various groups of outcasts that society had already thrown to the curb. Most furries don’t profit from their love of their fandom, so society deems it a loss.

None of this stuff is even gold, yet you're paying about the same or even more. I mean, you could even buy a diamond with that kind of money, and I am sure you haven't sewn or encrusted any diamonds into it. Lovely costume and idea, but I feel the price is overkill.
