I loved that Mangoose won. But I also feel for Vincent. He's like a kid who needs validation from Mangoose for every move. He keeps on trying to read Mangoose face. But he's definitely strong. He just need more confidence in himself. Right now he's little intimidated by the World No. 1, that's what I think.

Sagar’s commentary when Magnus is playing is special.
This commentary really is on another level... As someone who loves chess, but never plays anymore and was never really good, I can watch this and feel like I hearing war strategies, instead specific 5 move ahead analysis. Like, dudes good at giving a general idea of what is going on without getting technical. The way he pointed out open corridor for Magnus's pawn, then like 20 minutes later Magnus fenagles all the pieces in a way that allows his "trump card" to come into play ACTUALLY demonstrates his incredible strategy to even a layman like me.
17:46 Hikaru was more interested in Magnus game than his own

9:36 the main question - if Vincent didn’t find this move - what was he thinking about??? He put the rook, he put the queen, he put the knight and didn’t plan what he was going to do with them? Incredible…

Magnificent play by Carlsen. What a craftsman !
I honestly believe you can use Magnus' games to learn the endgame. He plays such natural moves and granted the commentary added context to the endgame moves.
FANTASTIC, the comments and explanations this guy from ChessBase will be giving with these (top) games ~ and he's always that great !
Excellent commentary!
As a 2k player myself, I look at this and see it as the difference between 2800+ and 2700. Magnus more deeply understands the middlegame, but it's hard to get out of the opening into middlegames where you can actually outplay at that level.
Now Magnus unleashed the beast inside him against Keymer. Nice play for Carlsen, a true champion.

Wow! They both blundered and Magnus had life again!
@ 8:15 I'm not sure it was so clear after 1. BxNc3 .. I think Magnus has a way out of the fork's described by playing; 1. BxNc3, BxNe6!? 2. Bxb2+, kd2 3. Qxe6, c3 .. Move 3. Sacrifices the a3 pawn but it also leaves Magnus a couple of half open file's for, his now connected Rooks' ..
The commentary is just perfect! Thank you, really enjoyed the video!
Where were they going?
Amazing how one move can take you from completely winning to even. Great match.
Can anyone tell me that when it was blunder from magnus why did he take with queen and not with pawn
He capitalized on a blunder by his opponent despite making a blunder of his own. He must be so relieved that his opponent didn’t make him pay for his own mistake.

For all we know, that Magnus time waste quirk at the start, could be him rerunning through his battle plan against the opponent.

Did keymer missed after Rf5 ( 23:14) to play Bd5! What Carlsen can do after that ?
What I can imagine was so frustrating for Magnus after a3, is it held so much potential for getting him eliminated from the tournament. Such a simple blunder. The fact that his opponent missed the follow up was even more surprising to him. It was almost complete luck - and as a competitive player at this level, that's not something you want on your side.
Vincent has many gifts...one of them he uses when you are Infront of him! 🥶🥶🥶
I'm a total beginner and this is all very mysterious to me. First, why do the players keep getting up and where do they go? Second, why the timer? And how is it possible to win a game and it's not even checkmate?
Best commentator so far. Fantastic! Well done.
Shah still says he is world champion ❤. He is always deserved for it ❤
Could someone please tell me what the players are writing on the paper? And why they always get out the table? I’ve been watching some videos but I noticed that it’s not very common. Thanks in advance!
Interesting how Prag and Hideki keeping an eye on this game. They both want Magnus out
