I feel that indian dynasty's retirement system was far better. At the age of 65-70, the king would retire and pass on the throne to eldest son, the other sons would be at higher positions in army and in council. It was really good. The retired king and queen, along with the other retired council members would go to peaceful forest lodges, the princes would visit them periodically and look after their health and expenses, also seek their advice on state matters. All in harmony.

Because they didn't have proof - and it was hard to get proof for anything at that time. And see what happened to Fahryie when she accused Nurbanu - instant dungeon. Subjects couldn't just accuse sultanas, especially slave's word wasn't worth much. Remember he ran away to join in the campaign. He was just bent on doing things his way. Selim obeyed his father but Bayezid obeyed his mother.

Well, to me Beyazid was a lesser and more entitled version of Mustafa. At least, by this series depiction. Trivia: in real life, Mustafa was rivals with Mehmet and Beyazid as they were strong contenders to the throne. He was friendly with Selim and Çihangir as both were weak contenders to the throne. That's why Selim restored Mahi's status and income after being enthroned.

The pattern of the fight between selim and beyazid are always the same since from the beginning. Selim started the fight, beyazid getting mad and scolded selim, selim doesnt admit his mistake and lied, beyazid called selim off by saying selim's flaws like "coward", and the fight ends with selim punch or assault beyazid.

I wanted his wife to appear behind him in 1:50:00 and tell him that she can't forgive him and Suleiman in tears breaking down

Hardly, as far as I remember Beyazid started the rivalry with Selim in childhood, always pointing out the latter's incompetence and provoking him. Somewhere down the line, Selim started to respond by undermining Beyazid. It's true Selim wasn't physically talented like Beyazid, and they were a year or so apart in age. Beyazid took that as proof of superiority. Beyazid was disrespectful to Selim in childhood itself, and hence got in Suleiman's attention that way. Keep in mind Suleiman's own father Selim the Grim was the youngest Prince who massacred all his elder brothers, and his father to sit on the throne. So, Suleiman knew that any of his sons could easily kill him for the throne due to precedent. If Selim and Beyazid, Hurrem or Mahi did what they did to protect their sons from fratricide, Suleiman did the same. He made decisions to execute his sons to protect himself, his family and sons.

Bayezid tried his best to prove his qualities to hurrem and suleiman but they only paid attention to his anger. I know someone with bayezid attitude in my life and his soul is as soft as a baby if you treat him good.

He knew he wasn't as skilled as his other brothers, knew he wasn't a contender to the throne, so was content in being laid back and ignored. And all my best to the Beyazid in your life. They can be like that. They're a free individual of 21st century. Beyazid on the other hand, was 16th century Ottoman Prince who could be legally executed anytime after birth. There's a difference. Mirimah isn't logical but she was raised in a bubble. I don't blame her. She wasn't like her mother at all, no matter how much she admired her. Hurrem should have taught her to be strong instead of babying her and forcing her to obey. Her forced wedding to Rooster was tragic. Hurrem broke Mirimah's spirit :(

Hurrem is the true hero of the Magnificent Century soap opera. She influenced so many people. Her monologues, especially the one at the end, are very moving. The best scene is when all the women came to pay tribute to her. She smiled, showed warmth, shook their hands and accepted their thanks and tributes. Because of her gender, she was a victim throughout her life. Look at her fear of Sulieman's wrath. A wife should never fear her husband. She took what she had and made the best of it :)

The problem of Suleiman that he never actually face competition between princes, he can never understand how fierce & cunning is the competition & could not see which is the brave & honest vs coward & cunning. Most importantly he could not understand the feeling of being treated unjustly despite doing well. Nvertheless God is fair, Selim reign was brief & both Nurbanu & him had tragic death.

It's a long hurdle race to be male adult surviving: infant mortality, childhood diseases, plagues abound all their life. Then there are casual accidents during horseriding, weapons training, natural disasters etc. Keep in mind, all this in 16th century. No ICUs and trauma hospitals, so even a heatstroke dehydration can do you in. I haven't even included politics, assassinations, foreign intrigues etc.🤷🏽‍♀️

Hurrem never took nurbanu serious..maybe she was ill and old so she lost that kind of revengeful feelings. Otherwise she would complain about nurbanu to suleyman or whatever like she's been killing enemies in the past. But nurbanu survived just like hurrem survived.

@@uweil918 Hurrem is the true hero of the Magnificent Century soap opera. She influenced so many people. Her monologues, especially the one at the end, are very moving. The best scene is when all the women came to pay tribute to her. She smiled, showed warmth, shook their hands and accepted their thanks and tributes. Because of her gender, she was a victim throughout her life. Look at her fear of Sulieman's wrath. A wife should never fear her husband. She took what she had and made the best of it :)

I don’t blame Prince Bayezid when he said to Sultama Mihimah their dads always blame him for everything and favor his brother knowing that he bullied him and blame him in the end also Bayezid way more better than him but Selim used his fear to destroy his little brother Bayezid very sad 😔

On the real history Selim and Nurbano didn't have triplets. So not sure why they add the triplets 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 they had 4 daughters and 1 son they are: Sah born in 1543,Gevherhan born 1544,Ismihan born 1545,Fatma born 1558 and his only son Murad lll born 1546.

True, that's why he executed Mustafa and Beyazid.....to protect his rest of the family from them. Since Suleiman's own father Selim the Grim was the youngest Prince who massacred all his elder brothers, and his father to sit on the throne. So, Suleiman knew that any of his sons could easily kill him for the throne due to precedent. If Selim and Beyazid, Hurrem or Mahi did what they did to protect their sons from fratricide, Suleiman did the same. He made decisions to execute his sons to protect himself, his family and sons.

@@priyaraman617 well, he didn't create the fratricide law. The few sultans that tried to abolish fratricide law, failed very badly at it. Multiple sons meant civil war everyday. Different factions of sipahis, Janissaries backing different candidates. Result used to be same bloodshed, but with additional deaths of civilians n soldiers too.

@@priyaraman617 also, Suleiman was the longest ruling ottoman sultan. That means for almost 46 years of his reign, the Empire saw some measure of monarchical stability.

All the time, Suleman ask to Effendi for when verdict should he gave...he himself doesn't have that intelligence.. then what's the need of being sultan of world?What a shame!!!

In specific cases like free person and dynasty members, a legal advice was mandatory. In case of slaves, the advice of judge was not required. In case of ibrahim, though he was slave, was protected by sultan's verdict, so legal advice was essential.
