In fact, he would probably been perfectly happy, to be a governor in some remote province for all his life, if that had been an option. But first the feeling of being a hopeless, disregarded third after Mustafa and Mehmet drove him to drinking and despair...and then he was pitched against the volatile Bayezid by circumstances. What was he gonna do? He now had a chance at success and survival and his brother made it really easy for him, to justify his rotten behavior to himself. Then add the ruthless Nurbano to the mix and suddenly you have a good person doing very bad things. What a shame. You can see, how what he's doing is eating away at him, inwardly. Or at least, that is how I perceive the actor's portrayal. He does, what he thinks he has to do... but it's not in accord with his conflict avoiding temperament and that's what makes him so tense and moody and, of course, leads him to drinking again.

Bayezid, Mustafa & Mehmet all had good qualities of a ruler yet sadly they were betrayed and selim is weak minded and acts out of fear

That scene when bayezid 's nephew hit him with arrow.. and he learnt from bayezid to play Arrow.... Its really very heart broken for me

This is the best show i have ever seen in my life. The best actors, the best music. The best scenography. Just mind blowing!. A Master Piece. Such attention to details and the emotion of the characters makes you read between the lines what they were realliy feeling (the real people back then i mean, what they might be feeling).

This series are played with utmost professionalism. The actors are stellar! I find no flaws in it. Oscar-worthy! I can tell the Turks take much pride in their history....hence their passion in interpreting their roles.

the best true hero and smart loyal friend is Atmaca, he is prince Bayezid's protection and courage. this actor and character are both wonderful, highlight the story greatly all the time. there were two of them, unfortunately the author made the other one died too early. it is better to keep the two heroes alive so that give the entire movie heroism style.

At first they have "brotherhood" but the moment Sultan Sulieman shows favor to Prince Selim is not fair to Prince Bayezid which is his son also..Prince Bayezid is not greedy..This is what Hurrem tells Suleiman at the very start Not to show favor to any one for the other will be down..If only Suleiman listens to the side of Bayezid and not Selim only.

Why didn’t Bayezid listen to his father and go to Amaysa like his father had initially ask him. Why did he choose not to listen to his father and not marry his cousin. @@JustMe-sd9yf Yeah, I realized that some time later 😅 Must have somehow missed it at the time. Truth to be told...by that time, I was only still watching, to 'get it over with', so to speak. The series got awfully dark and depressing towards the end and it was also just a tad too long, imo. They should have just left out stuff like the Princess Isabella plot and streamlined the story more. I was literally going: 5 more episodes...4 more episodes... YES, I'M DONE 🫣😂

Really sad! seeing brothers killing each other because of the throne, I cried in the whole episode when Haseki Sultana Hurrem is dying...I loved all the actress and the actor that making this Magnificent Century possible.

He killed his 5 brothers to secure the throne, and made very bas political decisions, just to gain more personal wealth. I still remember how Rustem tried to take poison for Mihrima....some ppl will argue she was forced into marriage...well even if she was, Rustem never forced her. He tried his best to win her heart.. it was her who kept on cheating on him with every other guy. Its sad how she killed him with no mercy. Luckily in real life Rustem and Mihirmah's story was very different. They respected each other, and it was Mihirmah who ensured Rustem's dream project was completed. Rustem is very different in history books compared to what is shown in the show. In history, he was actually a green flag but the show showed him as a red flag (tbh everyone in this show except Mehmet is a red flag lol)

Loved the way atmaca and his soldiers protected bayezid. One of the best scenes while he got betrayed from the ones his mother chose for him but mustafa's supporters remain loyal to him in the end.

I was never team Rustem but all he ever did was carry out the will of Hurrem and Suileman. If Mirihmah only knew that Atmaca was an agent for Piri Reis in an attempt to kill her mother and father. And if only Atmaca know that Mirihmah was involved in Mustafa’s framing. SMH! This show teaches me not to trust anybody.

Suleiman doesn't even know his kids......he was too busy and it seemed no one was good on communication.....selim never changed from childhood....he was a coward...liar......cheat......and crybaby then.......beyezid always bested him...always saved him.....heck of a fighter like Mustafa was....he had so many good traits but that temper was always going to cause problems.....be yes he turned the other cheek all the time.....Suleiman always sided with cowardly cheating selim....he never listened to beyezid...maybe they were too close in age.I guess he deserved the witch nurbabu.....he should have punished her for stealing his mothers ring.....that should never have happened or gone unpunished!!!!

No way made ur empire stonger? The decline started with the reign of Selim II he was the first Sultan who didn't went to battleground in his sultanate and state affairs were given to the viziers if only Bayezid aur Mustafa had been Sultan the empire might have been extended in to the Italian peninsula and whole hungary could have been regained

@@atxndemir2838 on one hand you’re right but you’re also wrong, it’s true that the sultan started to lose his state power during selim last reign, but murad, who was more successful than his father, expanded the empire to its biggest form. Even after the major decline in 1683, ottomans still had some victories alongside their defeats The empire’s state after Suleiman (post-suleimanic era) was like a stock market: sometimes it was up and sometimes down.

Shah Tahmasp looks like older version of Mustafa

Bayezid should have considered Shah Tahmasp's offer. He should have known his father would never show mercy and would never try to understand him. Instead of trying to just kill Selim, he should have teamed with Tahmasp and overthrown his father and enthroned himself.

I agree with you. His father already asked for his head. It was obvious he wouldn’t forgive him even if let’s say he killed selim. So his only option was to accept shah offer. Also it was obvious that shah wouldn’t help him fight selim only. He just declined the offer without thinking about it. He kept doing it all these years and this was his biggest disadvantage.

I miss Hürrem so much 💔

I like that garbage Hurem is death. She destroyed otomans when she killed inocent Mustafa only one worthy for throne too rule. I do not believe bayezid would have ever killed the children.....slim, oh yes, he deserved it....but I think he would have had the kids come to him and defne.......he and selim were so very different
