@Zombie Luka for me I liked it because it was more of a psychological look into what people consider to be witchcraft. The movie comes off boring in a way but when you watch it again, they are trying to say that she’s the witch but it’s not her fault. The brother looked at his sister inappropriately and then the witch came trapping him on his desire. She’s the witch but only because of the image that her family created of her, they could have been honest but they however just weren’t. I like it because it kinda shows evolution, a lot of new movies have elevated theme around them. Sorry for the paragraph I really like that movie 😅😅 it’s kind of scary for the witch because she lost everything, and there wasn’t anything she could do about it. Her family didn’t help by lying on her, it’s like betrayal.

Everyone was led to ruin by their own weaknesses, but her soul was the one the darkness was truly after. An elaborate, orchestration to separate her from her family... but more importantly from God. The weakness of each family member turned against them and leading the next domino to fall until the moment where she slays her mother. Stained by blood, and left utterly ruined with nowhere to turn... now present the pact. It's the true meaning of horror. Hits on that quiet, contemplative spiritual terror level like very few things do. Easily one of my favorite movies ever!

I love how wolfsbane knew the bear wasn't actually magic but they made her say it so magik could deliver the most iconic line of the movie lol.

Fun fact: in comics, Magik is the younger sister of Colossus. Her alter ego is Illyana Rasputin. In the movies, she didn't mentioned her brother.

Not just powers, but her origin is equally amazing. Raised in Limbo by a Demon, taught combat by an alternate, adult Kitty Pryde, and taught additional magics by an alternate Sorceress Storm. Destined to become the Darkchyld, she can play both hero and villain kinda like Wanda or Phoenix.

As much as I want to see her again in the MCU my biggest wish is to see Kitty Pryde and Lockhead together

The New Mutants' cast need to be a full package. Everyone here is perfect for their roles, esp Magik, Cannonball and Wolfsbane.

Anya Taylor Joy killed it as Magik. If Magik ever comes back to the MCU they better choose her to play Magik

Of all the new mutants, Magic was always my favourite, would love to see Anya Taylor play her again, she did a great job. Saw her in a Viking movie with Jenny Boyd ages ago, and only just realised it was her, both did a great job even though the movie was a little low budget.. Definitely going to be looking out for more of her acting

Honestly Anya’s portrayal of Magik was the only bright spot of this rather “meh” movie. Hopefully when the X-Men eventually return to the big screen Magik will be featured and Anya will get to reprise her role.

Anya Taylor-Joy is amazing and she nailed the character, there's no doubt about that, but I have to say, I actually really enjoyed The New Mutants? I don't understand the mediocre reviews, it's pretty decent. Definitely way better than that abomination that was Dark Phoenix.

@@thetendencyofoscillation.3989 This occurred in Avengers vs X-Men: the Phoenix Force split itself into five and was absorbed by what is known as the Phoenix Five (Cyclops, Emma Frost, Colossus, Namor and Magik).They were definitely powerful, but their compatibility with the PF was low compared to it's one true and perfect host: Jean Grey.

The FX team was pretty good, really a shame that the movie wasn't.

They need to keep her as Magik

She deserves to be introduced into the mcu she rlly nailed this role and was casted perfectly and the character was rlly interesting, the only one in the movie

Lots of way they can bring back Anya for the mcu. With the multiverse now open she can appear hopefully in Doctor strange 3.

All I know is that Magic can turn her entire body to gold and glow to temporarily blind the enemy.

We need more of her in another movie or TV shows, and maybe played by the person.

Magik was the first and only reason I watched the New Mutants. She's one of my all time favorite Marvel female character beside Psylocke, Dazzler, Kitty Pryde and She-Hulk. And Anya Taylor-Joy plays this character so well, I wish they would keep her as Magik for future MCU projects.

@@alejandrolira6201 the portallll, her portal is called Stepping Discs or lets say her teleportation. her teleportaion ability is one of the most powerful transporting way in marvel universe tbh, keep in mind that stepping discs are always connected to limbo so when she opens it, it only leads to limbo which means she cant just teleport easily, she need to use limbo mid-way before reaching her destination

Oh, I'm fairly certain that Marvel Studios will cast her again in the MCU. If there's one thing we know, it's that Feige doesn't shy away from hiring actors again that weren't part of the MCU, yet were beloved by fans and critics. Just look at Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Andrew Garfield, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Patrick Stewart or even Anson Mount. Also, they seem hellbent on securing most of the popular young actors/actresses right now. Just look at Hailee Steinfeld, Florence Pugh, Kathryn Newton, Barry Keoghan or frickin' Harry Styles (dude's barely an actor). Heck, Timothee Chalamet and Asa Butterfield are definitely on their list as well. They will obviously bring back Anya. If not as Magik, then some other role, although she was already perfectly cast.

It is a good movie starts off kinda slow and it’s not like the other marvel movies it’s got a darker twist to it. But it’s still good and you see characters that are new and unique. I’d give New Mutana chance.

I'd like to see this film get a re-imagining. I feel like it had a lot of potential. Good actors aswell. But magik should have been the focus for sure. She's so cool 😁

The movie wasn’t terrible, the concept was great, the cast was good, and I liked the simplicity of it. However, it had some things working against it. The biggest being Iliana was way too powerful for one person even if they were a mutant to contain. Furthermore Despite Dr. Reyes powers I have a hard time believing one mutant alone could’ve contained all five of the kids. Also no history of Reyes being a villain in the comics that I am aware of. That alone makes her an odd choice to be Essex Corp. (Mr. Sinister’s) Hench woman. Somebody like vertigo would’ve made more sense.

Magik has such a cool story I wish would be explored more in movies and shows. I played Midnight Suns and they actually went into detail about her dealings with Mephisto and becoming the Queen of Limbo.

This Magik was PERFECT! still holding out hope on seeing her and deadpool colossus on screen together 🙏

Imagine seeing her as Magik take on Dr Strange like in the Avengers Vs X-men books. That’s one of my dreams for the MCU.

They should've given her a prop sword so there's some impression of weight to her blade, she looks like she's swinging air, cuz she is. Small special effects note for the next time.

She’s literally so tall and unbelievably beautiful. She sells any role. She looks perfect for the part of illyana who has always interested me at least aesthetically. Like it’s like a fan casting come true

Funny thing is, she's really not that tall. 5'8" or so, she just has a really well put together slender build that makes her look taller.

She reminds me of Angelina Jolie's character in Girl Interrupted

I really hope a reboot of the movie (THE NEW MUTANTS) gets put into the works someday. I also hope that both a cartoon show series of (X-MEN: NEW MUTANTS) & a live-action show series of (THE NEW MUTANTS) gets made someday.

Imagine being Nightcrawler, a dude whose power is teleportation in a universe where there's a lil blonde girl who can also teleport plus do a thousand other things lmao

Magik can't fully control her mutant power that's why she only teleport to her limbo and quick tele nearby Unlike nightcrawler who can teleport at his will

@@miamay6312 In this movie, sure, she's still young. In the comics Magik is one of the most powerful mutants/sorceress alive. Granted Kurt can teleport through space but Magik can do that plus teleport through time plus to other dimensions plus various other ridiculously OP abilities. If her character returns in the MCU as a more mature mutant she could rival Wanda's and Strange's sorcery while completely outclassing Nightcrawler

Literally the only reason I watched thsi movie. I hope she comes back in the MCU
