I grew up listening to these guys. Honestly they sound so much better here than ever before. Reni is killing it on the drums, Mani is playing flawlessly on bass, john squire's guitar is magical and Ian never sounded better. To me this concert in 2016 is way better than their sound in the early 80's. This is one of those forgotten bands that when you hear them you fall in love with them again.

Your knuckles whiten on the wheel The last thing that your hands will feel Your final flight can't be delayed No earth, just sky it's so surreal Your pink fat lips let go a scream You fry and melt I love the scene Sometimes I fantasize When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Don't these times fill your eyes When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Are you all alone Is anybody home? I'm standing warm against the cold Now that the flames have taken hold At least you left your life in style And for far as I can see Ten twisted grills grin back at me Bad money dies I love the scene Sometimes I fantasize When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Don't these times fill your eyes When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Are you all alone Is anybody home? Sometimes I fantasize When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Don't these times fill your eyes When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Are you all alone Are you made of stone?

Fantastic! It makes such a difference when Ian sings well, like he does on record. Some of his live performances I find myself wincing, which isn't fair when the rest of the band always do such a great job. I wonder if it's all down to his in ear monitors and good tech that night, or whether he laid off the smoking... Reni seemed on top form during this gig. I wonder if that gold medallion thing round Ian's neck was signifying his decision to return to solo work. It reminds me of the cover of First World Problems, Ripples. Thank you so much for sharing this and your other videos - you had a great view. Anyone have any news on a live DVD from this gig? I'd be very interested.
@TheJoseph5117
3 жыл бұрын
I’m going to lay this issue to rest once and for all. Yes Ian has had some tragic nights when he has been awfully out of tune. Possibly monitoring or drugs. But from the early years when Ian sounded awfully out of tune it was usually on chorus parts when he had the most energetic drummer possibly ever providing harmonies way way way out tune. FACT! If someone else sings out of tune invariably it sends you off. Renis harmonies where great on record. However live ? And you hear it a lot in the reformation shows were terrible. A drummer really shouldn’t sing and play at the same time. Unless you want to be in the Eagles and be a crap drummer but a decent singer.

Fantastic band.
ian is the king ! never give up the roses ! best band ...
Finally Ian! About fucking time.
I'm glad they had a global victory lap
Squire and Reni interracting at the end. Fuckin cool
Sheesh....goosebumps 💥
thankyou :)
Reni is a fucking monster and so underrated.
can't believe they sound so good live in 2016
I grew up listening to these guys.

Not forgotten by their true fans but when you think of 80s alternative music everyone starts and ends with The Cure, And the Smiths. Although without Stone Roses there would be no Oasis
Brigs back memories.back in the day.🤘😜😳
Your knuckles whiten on the wheel The last thing that your hands will feel Your final flight can't be delayed No earth, just sky it's so surreal Your pink fat lips let go a scream You fry and melt I love the scene Sometimes I fantasize When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Don't these times fill your eyes When the streets are cold and lonely And the cars they burn below me Are you all alone Is anybody home?

He’s a true artist. One of the most obviously artistic personalities I’ve seen. Artists are temperamental by their very nature and thus unpredictable.

It's live autotune, look at their Sydney Opera House videos, he is as tight there - Apparently, live autotune is a thing.
I salute you, Steve Easton. Any chance of a copy of the full uncut concert. You'd be making a middle aged bloke very very happy :)
Im not sure whats happened but fuck me...Please may it continue
you underestimate them ,then you hear it here and its just great...i dont understand why other people/bands cant create that feel, that they have and can, at a drop of a hat.

Fucking Awesome!
Great performance but its being filmed on stage by pro cameras is it for a dvd?
Damn, now I wish i tried to smuggle in one of my better video cameras
Ian Brown é o cara!!
Btw, whats the story with Mani's bass switching: Ric, Epiphone, now Jazz (although he used Jazz also in the 90's)?
What’s down the front of Brownie’s trousers?
Have they removed Ian's voice box and replaced it with an updated one?
All for one....John looks like a musketeer now!
Have you got This is the One and She Bangs the Drums?
It’s like watching my grandpa sing a fucking classic anthem
If his vocals were on auto tune...why??....live DVD release of MSG show on the cards? The band sound brilliant here, best ever in fact!
Sick. Brown sings better in 2016 than back in the day.
not sure if it works now, the music was originally for ravers back in the 90's summer of love, baggy scene, you no what l mean?.
Sound more like the roses here than they did on album..
This video must show that Ian Brown just needs decent monitoring? Maybe he's using in-ear monitors? Also, when did Mani start using Fender Jazz basses?
