Founded 5 years ago, Field Cycles are based in Sheffield, the home of steel, making handmade and bespoke bicycle frames out of steel. This short film presents their work, their ethos and passion for the bicycle.

In the movie “Jesus of Nazareth” 1976 there is a scene where St Joseph is talking to some kids about carpentry, He says “remember, only the man who works with his hands is free.”

Couldn't agree more James. I think the same goes for everything mass produced product these days. More and more people are wanting high quality products that are built to last.

Bike frame building is my dream that I wish to pursue someday....😇
This is a fantastic video. I saw it after the decision to order a bike and it just underscores the fact I think I've made a good decision. I can't wait to start the process. it will be an honor to ride a Field bike. Not so much the 'mass" manufactured stuff.

When music is that loud it just shows contempt for the subject.

I talked to Tom Ritchey for about a half hour recently. He is the coolest. I asked him about why he makes steel frames? He just looked at me and said “People don’t understand steel.” End of conversation. LoL.
I want my next bike to be made by Liam Neeson....
