@@1979pmiller Madden 25/NCAA 14 was the last one I religiously played. Once they moved to the next gen for Madden 16 just straight garbage.

This is the best video youve put out. Visual examples from a game from over a decade ago of exactly what we have been begging for. The eyes tracking the ball. The seamless animations. Forget all the bells and whistles. All of the X Factor bloat that has been added. These are the core things that need to be implemented before even thinking about extra features.

This has been don ad nauseum over the years but willfully ignored because of MUH Madden Syndrome. Better grab a copy of AP2K8 while you got a chance. Peeps are finally waking up and the price will rise on this game. It truly is a classic. Within the game during rain or snow, a player slip, lose balance and actually attempt to regain footing. Never seen in any Madden game. Hundreds of animations you won't see in a game made in 2023 on a super console. Buy APF2K8. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

100% spot on. EA Sports, and Madden 24 are crap. I have a Right to say this, because I have purchased every Madden Football game since the first game came out for the Sega Genesis in 1990. Im in total agreement that EA should lose their NFL Exclusive Rights.

This is why I'll never stop playing APF 2k8. It's leagues ahead of what madden fails to do every year or better yet in decades. This is an embarrassment compared to APF 2k8.

Moody is a true football game historian.

This was the difference between 2k and EA. The staff at 2k made a great simulated football game with fictional teams/legendary players. EA 15 years later with the exclusive license still hasn't lived up to what 2k did for 2k5 or 2k8 all pro. We the consumers need to hit em where it hurts and stop buying the game, plain and simple.

That’s cute that you think you’re their target audience. They could care less about people like you and I who actually crave a simulation type game. They’re only concern is how do we get the streamers to open packs on stream and create that FOMO from other people so that we can steal their money even more so than buy asking 70 dollars for this bs game. I believe that if you’re sole purpose to release a video game is to force micro transactions, then your game should be free. Especially since I’m essentially playing madden 16 for the past 8 years. Could be even worse, 16 is just when I started playing madden.

Such a great video full of truth Sir! I was playing APFK8 yesterday and I had visit over my house watching me battle it out between the Raiders vs Joe Montana’s 49ers in this great game. It was a close game until the last 2 minutes of the 4th Quarter. A very realistic display of sim football was on display with big hits, interceptions, sacks, fumbles, and touchdowns. My guest sat there and watched the entire game screaming and at times clapping at seeing the violent sport of football action unfold before his eyes in such a realistic, organic, and beautiful way. This game is a true gem. Those who have no clue what a sim football game is and should be, will never understand what they’re missing and how much EA has been riding them for all these years. I kind of feel bad for them but at the same time don’t. Why? Because they have chosen to look the other way and bow down to a false idol that is EAs Madden’s false sim football games. The standard is and will always be 2K sim sport football games. You want to play a realistic football game, go get yourself a copy of NFL 2K5, or better yet, APF 2K8…and watch the beauty unfold.

2k8 is a great game. Still to this day i only play 2k5 and 2k8. Allpro just feels so much better

APF2K8 makes Madden look like preschool levels of programming with how far ahead it is. The fact that a PS3 and 360 game based somewhat on PS2 and original XBOX code can outperform a game made on the most powerful consoles we ever had shows just how badly EA needs to lose the license. Any company that cares about the sport they work on would be embarrassed at how badly they get outperformed by 2K8, which truthfully shows me that the people in charge at EA do not care about the sport of football.

Can you imagine a football game with 2k’s ProPlay technology? Would be insane. I’m not optimistic that EA will lose the NFL license because all the MUT players and streamers continue to spend hundreds of dollars on packs and EA makes money off them and streamers make money off it. Why would EA change anything? They don’t care about delivering an actual football game, they care about making money and always will.

All pro is far superior IMO.

Truth is 2k could never match Madden in sales even before they had nfl exclusivity.They lost and haven’t been able to come back. 2k8 is out dated and irrelevant for players who want current simulation football. I have 2k5 and 2k8. I play Madden because it’s current and until 2k steps up and gets back in the game, I’ll continue to do so.

I would be playing 2K8 still if the servers were still up....shout out to the SIM community that played that game. Some of the best football gaming ever experienced.

Also, 2K8 was ahead of its time. Back then, people didn't want to play a football game without the NFL license. Now, I feel like it would have been a success. Even if they didn't use NFL legends .

Maybe because they knew if they didn't have the NFLPA license or the real teams, they HAD to make a great playing game. To me, the names on the jerseys don't mean anything to me. I had my most fun with creating a cupcake team of nobodies, not allowing myself to sign any player higher than a 75OVR in FA, and needing to rebuild through the draft of randomly generated players. My Rams team drafted a first round runningback named Cris Andrews who went on to break Emmitt Smith's all time rushing record by going over 23,000 yards in his career. A DT named John Stone who ran a 4.70 40 at 343lbs who wrecked the league with 15-20 sacks a season. A surefire HOF WR who was racking up 1,000 yards seasons year after year until he had a season ending injury and missed all but one game of the season. He came back the following year and was a shell of his former self and never came close to 1000 yards ever again. Just give me a good playing product, and I can create my own immersion. I did this with Madden 2008. I created a league full of cupcake teams and replaced the entire NFL with them. The results were hilarious! Only 3 QBs throwing for over 3000 yards. Only one QB threw more TDs than INTs and it was like 17-15. The best kicker only made 58% of his kicks.

We should just cherish that an awesome simulation game like All Pro 2k8 is out there for us to use. Like everyone has posted, EA is so ingrained with the MUT pack gravy train they have no motivation to make a game that equals All Pro 2k8. But glad you are posting these The Truth is out there videos that Madden is a sham. The proof is in the replay.

I am currently working on setting up Madden 08 the PC version on my computer. Supposedly there are a ton of mods for this release that make it much, much better. It is just wonky to work with. The game is now free through the public domain thanks to its age and being considered abandon ware now. But, the mods include updated graphics, game play rules like kick off and PAT distances, updated jersies, tons of rosters, tons of actual draft classes. So far I have the base game and the update patch working. I am about to add in the mods, but the way Madden 08 is, different mods need different mod managers to install, so it gets a bit tedious. What I hope to see when I am done is supposedly the best NFL simulation possible with some special sliders and game settings with these mods that are supposed to be really close to the actual NFL stats. We'll see.

Man if 2k had the license. Players would have so much signature animations

When I went to EA they were very nice, when they started talking about changing my content - I had to go. Im glad they give creators like TallGuy and TrumpetMonkey a change to grow the channels they have - but the game improving at such a slow rate.

We the people how so much power, we can all stop buying this bs forcing them to make what we want. If we stop giving ea our money for madden guarantee the nfl look for video game partnership elsewhere

​​@@marqicewalker1766 All you have to do is play as any of the iconic teams from 1960 to today and you'll see every single player with their own animations, how they shoot, how they celebrate, defend and even act when they're fouled For example when Mutombo blocks he waves his finger and say "No no no" at the person he blocked like he did in real life Magic Johnson did his behind the back passes and his hop around the head passes in the game like he did in real life Michael Jordan sticks his tongue out when he dunks like in real life Madden has legendary players on mut and none of them have their famous animations I saw a mut player get a hard hitting tackle and fumble with Ray Lewis and all he did was walk back when he would do his dance and arm gestures at any play like that in real life

Ryan is 100% truthful. The only people who play this game and are satisfied with is gameplay are the people who don’t know any better or don’t expect better. They’re perfectly okay with there being a “meta” in a simulation football game. And that they don’t have to actually adjust to anything meaningful. This game may be rated E but it should be rated dog shit because what EA brings to the table every year is absolute garbage. Give us physics based gameplay, give us customization past just the gear that players wear. And for the love of god, the cheese plays that break every fucking year of madden needs to stop

@@RyanMoody21 I agree Ryan, I could go on and on about the flaws in the system they have created. The game at this point needs to be realistic and astounding to the folks that don’t know football. However it is the exact opposite. It is built to be so dumbed down and simplistic that the average joe that has never played football in their entire life or has not played madden can easily pick up. That’s not what simulation football is about. People who have a greater knowledge of the game should be able to excel. Instead EA create a game in which any non footballer can simply insert themselves, watch a couple KZread videos, and be successful. It is embarrassing to people that have dedicated a ludicrous amount of time to actually knowing football and how the game should operate. Give the actual dedicated people what they want and not just an arcade game which every play is a game changing event. You can know all you want about coverages/game plans etc. when it comes down to it it’s all about what exploit you can find that the AI simply cannot defend

@@RyanMoody21 NFL 2k5 looks pretty good when you upscale it to 4K HD. Even Madden 08 for the PC version before I add in the HD mods doesn't look too bad.

So glad your focusing on the consoles they're being released on. I'm currently playing Starfield on Xbox series X. Looking back at Bethesdas game "Oblivion" on Xbox 360 and comparing it to Starfield, you can SEE the improvements. They didn't need notes and made up technology to sell you on the game. Looking at 3 mins of Starfield footage you can see the improved graphics, the facial and lip sync technology. Extremely detailed planets with minimal to no load times. When I'm playing it, you can tell this couldn't be done on last gen. At no point have I ever looked at Madden and thought "Man, I can see why you need a PS5 to play this. They are really taking advantage of the system." In Starfield, you can leave a item on one of the 1000 planets in the game, play through hundreds of quests and return to that planet and that item would still be there. In Madden? They cant make double team blocks work......in their football game.....smh.

The game is not as terrible as he suggests. Not saying the games don’t have issues and could improve. It’s just a loud opinion online bro but it doesn’t effect EA’s bottom line. But it does create an Avenue for revenue for haters. Madden killed 2k in sales even when we had 2k5. Truth is 2k got beat and that dog ain’t never gonna hunt again. Until then, MADDEN for the best/only current simulation. That’s on me!

I have sacked qbs with 2 blockers on me plenty of times, tackling thru the blocks. That is realistic. Running right thru the second blocker like he wasnt even there like the 2k vid is not.

Respect for this. This is a big reason I quit playing online and I finally purchase the game after two years of not playing because I upgraded to a next GEN system. It is played by the same exact problems. It was on madden 15. My pulling guard has a brain aneurysm and turns back around to do the running back still. I am also extremely glad that you brought up the archetypes, and I think plenty of the ratings on madden are useless for God sakes there is a “change of direction” rating what is agility then ? What is acceleration? It doesn’t make sense

It's not that difficult to understand... speed = how fast, acceleration = time it takes to reach said players max speed, agility = ability to follow up moves with another, elusiveness = speed of juke or spin, and finally change of direction = speed capability of the left analog (ability to go back and forth faster).

Madden 24 post play emotions don't even really get to shine cause the game feels rushed after each play its fucking annoying

All Pro Football 2K8 > Madden 24. I can deal with the graphics and licensing and will take real players on fake teams all day over real teams/players with unrealistic football.

Ryan wants what we all want: a fundamentally sound gameplay experience with a franchise mode that provides depth. I notice yall hating ryan for pointing out madden’s flaws. The players are unaware of their position relative to other entities on the field ie: players have 0 awareness of their distance from the goal line or sidelines and phasing through players is a byproduct of a similar issue.

Couldnt agree more, its not a team of players - its a group of seperate players with no real goal in mind.

i can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen a running back break a tackle off a giant DT in madden 24

I unistalled my free copy over the holiday. Final online record was 50-36 …..for some odd reason going on a win streak your defense literally just does not work for the next 3 to 4 games. Safeties not covering down field, LBs getting pancaked 88% of the game. On offense Guys warping into my receivers for INTs, lineman not pass blocking. Real weird shit…but you play this game long enough and you see all of this bullshit more and more….scripted FG blocks are still a thing too smh….

@@ongo_yahzo yea shits bogus….the last play that made me uninstall my safety literally stood in his zone as the receiver ran at him and cut on a corner route……my safety never moved…..I lost the game. I also cannot stand that game planning bullshit. You have to sacrifice the run game to cover the receivers? Or I won’t be able to throw as efficiently if I choose a stronger run game. It doesn’t work and I feel like it breaks the game….let ME use my IQ and skill to play the fucking game lol smh…..it’s hopeless…..

@TheBlackAkatsuki88 ivwas thinking to myself last night....we have to play against the opponent and against the coding of the 🎮. So it's a 3 vs 1 every 🎮. When that light turned on in my mind I went on a 5 game win run. That was long as I could hold it til I got tired and lost again. I'm fighting to get out of this -11 🎮 🛝. Always keep in mind that they have WEE'd the damn 🎮 with irritating suction animation. Play effectively & efficiently as possible against that make your squad animate against the other bs animations.

The video Ryan showed where your blockers chase a guy OUT OF the play that’s BEHIND the play running into your running back resulting in you getting a tackle for a loss, I love running the football and it wholeheartedly pisses me off when I have a hole big enough to fit TWO Lizzos and I get tackled cause my TE ran backwards to chase a blitzing corner. Such a sad fucking game bro smh so I went ahead and uninstalled 😂🤣😂 it’s the same game smh.

Was playing 2K5 in first person the other day.... it is still the best feeling football game I have. I have not played 2K8, but I am proud to have not bought a EA NFL game since M13.

2K Sports is hands down way better than EA Sports! You are 💯 percent correct in that the NFL (for the sake of a quality football game) needs to relinquish their exclusive rights with EA Sports! Sega NFL2K needs to come back (please 😢)!

They completely broke the receiver position this year. Every year receivers ability to catch gets worse and worse while defensive players including linemen have much better hands.

A few corrections before I really get into this here... *Further Proof EA Needs To Lose The NFL License Also, if you really and I mean REALLY want to show folks how badly this has fallen off the cliff, do this but with Madden 07 for the PS2 (you can probably do the same for 08 & 09) and then hit 11 & 12 for the PS3. After that, I'd say 25 & 16 for the PS3. 07 to me is the true GOAT of the PS2 genre and honestly, Madden in general as a series. It didn't get this high again. 08 fell short, 09 same. Nothing really came close to touching 07 pound for pound and then there's 21.3 aka 24. This game in all seriousness, should be loaded to the gills with features galore. This game should be so deep, it's literally costing people their jobs cause they can't peel away from it. The real case that needs to be driven into people's skulls is this USED TO BE something special. This USED TO BE something we as fans looked forward to every Summer. EA USED TO BE a company that didn't have to be told what we wanted, cause they knew what we were there for and they had us covered. UNTIL THEY DIDN'T ANYMORE. USED TO BE you didn't mute the soundtracks in the menu screens cause there were headbangers up and down the place. The last time Madden had a decent soundtrack was 12, FYI. If you stitched together every major thing that was taken away from each game or just over the years, then amplified it to the max, we'd have a Madden everyone could be happy with.

Keep going man. Eventually the NFL has to do something.

I mean they are for me in a way. Making them and seeing the responses of others has gotten me through this awful time of gaming.

I recently just tracked down an Xbox 360, just so I could play NFL 2k5. I was nervous about how bad graphics would be, etc...I gotta say...the semi bad graphics thing goes away in 5 minutes. This game is unreal. I'm playing it right now. I could go on and on and on about how good this game is and how in depth it is. It would take way too long. Anyone young who is trying to play madden...stop, get the emulator, get an old Xbox because graphics are a bit better and get a 2k football game! I mean...you can set your own camera. The way they talk about individual players and what they're doing. The weekly recaps. It's unreal. I did, but didn't realize how bad madden really was. Blowwwwn away! Love all the videos. EA needs to hear it

Fear not, the graphics in Madden have taken a step back - look at this thumbnail - so its not like you are visually even missing much.

All we gotta do is stop buying ea madden. Their exclusive contract is up in 2026 with a 1 year extension if it hits revenue target. So if we band together and not buy this pos they’ll force their hand

That made no sense. That initiating tackler should have been laid out or pancaked. There aren't enough clanging and collision animations. They just focus so much on making the game look realistic, but they don't work under the hood to make it run smoothly. If they can make the players walk on the field and dance in cut scenes, they should be able to make them play well on the field. It just shows you where EA's commitment in this game lies.

Atleast you actually show the problems that this game continues to have. No one else does this. We need more people in the community like you to force EA to implement change. Keep it up! ;)

I dont know how you cant show the issues this game has, its hard to put a drive together without flaws.

3:18 I am not a football game fan but i am honestly impressed by that movement by Gastineau.

Sad that some things in this game were just now added to madden. This game is the GOAT football sim. Only thing madden has over it is obviously graphics, NFL license, and a franchise mode. This game has the best throwing, pocket, blocking, downfield blocking AI play especially on defense, ball trajectory. Injuries and the teammates actually call for the medic and the team reacts. Weather impacts games. Pre game and presentation is better. Throwing animation on the run and stationary look great still. Catching animation, running animations. 2k cared and made the best Sim to date. Madden doesn't play like a sim. It is really an arcade. 2K8 IS THE GOLD STANDARD FOR FOOTBALL SIMS

I remember years ago (visual concepts company at the time ) had NFL players come in an mo cap their signature moves would have been in NFL2K if when the next generation systems come I believe was xbox 360 ps3 era so 2ksports was already ahead of madden that exclusive license mess up everything.

I understand the NFL might now fully allow that today - but the lack of effort EA has is unreal. And this is why EA made such a big deal about "AWS" being able to bring in real life reactions and movement - and yet its gone after so long.

Keep making these type of videos Ryan. I love it. Madden all these years later still can't hold 2k5 jock strap.

I played All Pro 2k8 after years and years of playing madden, it’s a breath of fresh air. EA is bad and keeps trying to upsell us on bad gameplay and “brand new” features, All Pro 2k8 says, “here’s football. Play. Have fun. It’s realistic.” No upselling, no glitchy plays, no bad animations, no $30 player you gotta buy to be competitive in a game mode, just football

This is my absolute favorite and mic drop video this channel has ever made. I absolutely hate what Madden has become. I'm at the point in my life now where I can look back on my childhood and truly appreciate what the team at 2K did with their football games. EA Sports knew it and ruined it for everyone else but themselves... they KNOW if there's competition that their gravy train is finally over. The young kids these days don't know any better and honestly they won't take the time to go back and find those older titles to compare truth videos such as this and see for themselves ... they're easily persuaded by hype trailers and garbage promises that EA makes every year. Keep up the amazing work, brother... as I truly believe that there will come a day where EA no longer holds the exclusive license and the arcade loving trolls will be forced to play a true football sim game.

If EA claims that there are that many tackle animations, then they should be able to disclose those specific animations to us to verify their claims. I haven't yet seen that.

I 100% agree with this - if they sell it they should have to back it up. If we want to see every single animation that got added or changed we should able to sit through and see everyone.

The only way to fix Madden games would be to rewrite the games code from scratch which is impossible for a title tied to yearly releases.

6:07 Exactly, and they still haven't even fixed it🤦🏾‍♂️ can't forget about your defensive guys letting the ball go right over their heads when they can literally make a play on it or just being able to make a play in general when the ball is literally right next to them

I think people forget 2k in basketball was not the market leader. It took them to like 2008 to become that. 2k Is just better they do not have an exclusive license. There are some things I don’t like. But at least the game looks amazing on PS5 and series x and s.

I bought mine on Amazon because it’s been years and 23 was almost playable for me but I just sent back 24. I broke two controllers almost through one through my television. This game is absolutely abhorrent it’s filth it’s trash and anyone who had any part of making it should be sent to prison as a terrorist, it should be illegal to call this a sim football game, send the development team for two months to Guantánamo Bay because that’s the kind of torture that fans have it had to endure since EA took the license, it is absolutely appropriate to call this game pure trash because I would pay to have it removed from my site just like I do trash every week

When NFL2K5 came out EA saw first hand that they were being beat bad

theres so many streamers promoting this game. so many streamers making content of madden. people will not stop buying the games. it doesnt matter how correct and true moody is and how good his videos are. they will continue to buy the game supporting ea's madden. i do hope one day another company is able to make an nfl simulation football game. but for now sadly i think madden will continue like this for years to come. ive stopped playing for 7 years now. but im sure in my absence millions of others have picked up the game. especially now the new gen doesnt even know how bad it is because its new to them and its all they ever played. theres a whole generation that will continue to buy this game. i dont think there is enough of us to take a stand and make something happen. afterall they are a business, driven by money. if youre making shit tons of money doing the same shit every year. theres no need to change. thats just how the game goes for EA. they dont care about us or simulation football. they clearly do not need our money because so many people are glorifying the game. streamers getting sponsors and all that from EA. just to promote such a game. its sad indeed. but it wont ever change.
