The one and only!

The rule of thumb ive been sticking to is, if they go two wide outs, i go nickel. If they go 3 wide outs, i go quarter, if they go one wide out ill stick in the 4-3, my teams base. I need to work on my user skills but itll get there. I can user CB pretty well as long as im picking him when the balls in the air. lol

I ran this defense a lot for a while, against friends and online. it was gine and dandy and I was mixing in other defensive plays I know then the other day it seemed like it wasn't covering anymore. people could dunk it down while playing overheat and my MLB wasn't covering well over the middle. I thought it was my MLB but when I upgraded the same thing happened. post corners could get open without problem.

You should mix up which MLB you are usering and playing the cover underneath and overtop depending on situation.

I use this sometimes but I get killed by the inside runs sometimes what instrumental is that though

well one way to beat this defense is hot routes , ive had someone do this to me before it took me longer to score but i won by a td thoe , im glad i played corner and saftey in middle school and highschool so i now somewhat about defense even thoe the nfl is way diffrent, i know what coverage and zones their most likely in ,

Thank you so much for this. I was constantly getting beat with Seahawks Lane against some of the faster receivers in man to man and didn't think about pulling him back. I wish there were ways to set a default coverage for certain players against other certain players. For example, if my #2 corner is against their #1 have him start off even when I select a press play. Or, have a double coverage setup on Julio Jones if another safety is available.

You can also play the coverage overtop on fast WRs like that.

yeah but it's strange, there seems to be no in between. If I move them way out then they get burned by slants. If I put them press there seems to be some bug in Madden where they'll just stand there and let the receiver (once in a while) run for about 5 yards before the AI realizes it needs to take off down the field. Since I brought up quirky behavior, have you seen an increase in buggy behavior this release? I'm kind of shocked at the "slide X player into position" so the animation can occur. I've had quite a few times where they slide about 1-2 yards so that they can make toe tap catches or block a ball that was otherwise open and diving would make the trajectory not possible. At any rate, thanks for the advice.

Haven't seen that press issue you are talking about but definitely agree with the transition animations not always being smooth so it looks like players "jump" into two man animations that look unnatural. One thing to do when someone is constantly going deep on your is to bring some zone pressure and get to them before they make the throw. Checkout our blitz on the channel for getting to the QB quickly.

the problem i have with m17 zone coverage is defenders dont try to swat the ball when a reciever enters their zone. i make post route plays and cross route plays all the time. db or safety simply is a sitting duck unless a ball is thrown to his arms directly. why ss and fs dont defend post route when i call 2 man under which is designed to thwart deep ball. why lbs dont follow te or slot reciever in cross route even though i call proper zone coverage. zone defence in m 17 is completely useless. u got good man to man coverman or u give opponent 15yrd play 25yrd play all game long

Then play the coverage under, it will turn the cover 2 zone into a hard flat.

Typically the mid read or hook curl, never the vert hook. Don't want the responsibility of carrying the #2 receiver if they run a seam route.

All you really have to do is chip off with inside runs and send the rb out for check down routs. Or qb rush. Don't get me wrong this is a good pass defense. But it's not really unstoppable

I guess I was being too predictable but dude kept throwin to the cover 4 flat EVERY single time I called this play.

Then play the coverage under or flip it.

This is why it's always good to keep 1 rb,, in the back field just in case you have to run the ball and keep you soft pass defences honest. You will never put all them DB on the field on me and think as I'm no going to run the ball I'll run it 20 straight times if I have to and make you respect the run to the fullest

Why no one should sit in any defense. It's all situational. Wouldn't call this on 1st down but on 3rd and long it's one of the best coverages in the game.

Awesome to hear! Mix it up by playing the coverage over and under as well. Using the Cloud Flats zone makes this defense even more effective. Working on a new video about it now.

Shouldn't run it every play but crashing the line down and/or sliding to the side you believe they will run to will help.

So far so good however will it work against a mobile QB? What playbook ?

Drake Blackwolf do QB contain and spread the d line if your playing a mobile QB it works for me but your only weakness is the run up middle but u don't need to worry about that cuz most people that play madden are stupid and only throw so I think your good

Yes you can spotlight a WR. Press Y then X then the receivers button your want it spotlight then X again

It holds up to the run vs 3 WR sets pretty well as covered in the video. The cover 4 safety and cover 2 CB will provide run support on either side.

It's primarily a pass defense for passing situations, not meant to be run every down or on early downs. How it plays vs the run is already covered in the video.

The zones this year are better than in any Madden. Man coverage took a hit this year though.

I would destroy this defense. I don't have to throw deep. I'm gonna take what you give me. I wouldn't stop running counter and power on you and I would throw to the flats and take a few yards here and there. This only works against people who don't know how to read defenses

tony zeek i don't get into third and long ..especially against this.. I would run all day . There isn't a way to play the run in this unless you change the amount of players in the box. And when you do that I'll throw. Not hard to beat. I actually just saw this in my last game and I won 62-27 🤔

I know right? Soooo many adjustments to players assignments are made after the play is picked that can shit this down. Basically to be good at defense you need to actually know what offensive formations are and what pairs against that defensively
