it all sounds great, but it's not like we have a a minute or two to sit there and make all those adjustments before they snap every time. maddens play calling needs some serious improvements, there's not even a "my favorites" feature or custom plays we can make up ourselves with these adujstments or anything. god EAs monopoly on this game needs to end already i'm so trired of getting the same shit for 3-4 years and no incentive to improve the tiniest little things like that

I can clearly see there are quick adjustments to plays in this giant video about quick ajustments to plays. hence why I'm saying it'd be nice for a change in the system. at least on defense let us make adjustments while selecting a play and before the screen exits the panning shots of sidelines and the crowd instead of making us wait till right before the ball can be snapped.

No more cheesy than the game already is. If you can derive almost guaranteed plays trust me it points to a problem with the game itself. Has nothing to do with "Pros".

This video shows why madden needs improving and why it is a shame that 2k cannot still make football games. In just the few plays run in this video, there are multiple times that plays are made that should not be made. The corner gets burnt by Sanders (7:03) and then a burst of speed gets him back into the play for an interception. On another play (9:00) there is double coverage way down the field and the QB just throws a bomb that the receiver comes up with despite coverage all over him. These plays happen all of the time and do not reward players for actually making solid football plays. It's just a crap shoot. The game hasn't had any significant improvements in years, and it isn't because no improvements are needed. Competition fuels innovation and improvement. With a monopoly there is no reason to improve. Signed, A long-time Madden fan that would like to see some changes.

Don Oshin No, I do not think 2k is a savior, or even better than Madden, necessarily. I'm just saying that because no other football game exists, Madden developers have gotten lazy and they have no reason to improve because they have no competition. if they were still having to fight for sales with 2k or a different football game, I think we would see more improvements and innovation. That's all I'm saying.

madden has figured out the best game engine for football and have been developing it every day for years. 2k is way too far behind now. and the infinite tackle engine changed the game so give EA credit for that fools

Turtle he was being sarcastic, that's why he said "LOL!" I'm not saying that an out position corner can never get back in position for an interception in real life. I'm also not saying that we have never seen receivers make incredible catches with defenders all over them in real life. I'm just saying that it happens far too often in madden and it isn't just with elite players like Julio or Beckham Jr. I think you guys are misunderstanding what I meant in the original post. All I was saying is that it would be a good thing for us (Madden players and fans) for NFL 2K to still exist, because the competition of having another football game on the market would force Madden to continuously improve and develop innovative changes year after year. I'm not saying the game needs a massive overhaul, because it doesnt. But there are definitely still areas for improvement and the last couple of games have been incredibly similar.

If you're over 21 and in a state where it's legal. .....smoke a joint and have fun with the game!!! The best tip you can have is to remember to have fun playing the game. The second best tip is to realize when your opponent is better and treat that game like a practice ( a good old fashioned schooling ) . Third tip is to try to save your plays as long as you can. ....run as few plays as possible so that your opponent can't get a feel for who you are ( wear a disguise) . 4th tip is. ......Don't expect to win, earn it. ( your opponent is another football fan and they are trying to win too !!!) 5th tip is do something unexpected at some point during the game ( I love calling a punt block zone defense on 2nd and 3rd down sometimes just to throw my opponent off lol ) .

Slants will take these adjustments out of context by adjusting slide protection to benefit qb and hitting the route between the hashes. This will force the defense to make adjustments to open overtop mid hash and the short end crossing routes

Normal players that play 2-5 games a week like myself would NEVER have time to do all this shit before the snap, and no good player with LET you do all this shit before the snap..Now days you have only really two options playing online... Two people trying to win, going back and forth using the same 1-3 exploits to score in absolutely unrealistic ways (ie. grouping up the AI D on kick returns by running backwards, or screens) and have a totally unrealistic, zero fun experience JUST to get the W. This has been a big issue going back to AT LEAST the "Randy Moss jet pack" days, where Moss with the Patriots had a jump that could never be stopped online, it made even the aggressive catches in M16 look contested... or You an say "screw this guy, I'm gonna play in a realistic, FUN way...because this is a game.." and end up getting smashed, never able to win. Either way, you end up having no fun. This is why I WISH they would spend more time on FRANCHISE ....I know it's better, but could be waaaay better! Remember the radio show? The news paper? They could add more stat tracking, maybe M17 has it but little things like knowing how many ProBowl/MVP votes players have and where they stand just little things make such a difference...I don't think it'll be more than 5 yrs from now where MUT is all madden really is, and there will be a feature to just sim all your games, and your W/L will be based upon card stats. It's being driven too much to just hardcore dorks that want to sit around all day. and lab, and find exploits ..

If it makes you feel better me and my close group of friends who have been playing franchise together since 06' talk about what you just said all the time. The News articles and sportscenter involvement-ish is cool in madden 17. And franchise got really dumb and shitty for a couple years and then they realized players love it so I think EA does at least get the picture. but they are pushing stupid ultimate team when they should be pushing online fantasy draft leagues

Hurry up offense calling audibles would destroy these adjustments...takes years to change the play like that..

iiiTechnoDuckxX agreed you will only be able to input at most 2 individual adjustments and maybe 2 shifts on point of attacks

great stuff I've been Manning opposite side on a de basically defending the drag so that is going to help immensely and I can go back to always usering a lb or safety

Even if you man up the drag route, an experienced player like myself would dump it off to backs. Also I always spread my blocking to the outside for corner blitz every down. the backs get a free release. When you change the zone coverage into man. Look at the backs in the video when you change the zone coverage.

The man up on those drags have improved my game alot

My fav play for 3rd downs is the combos blitz, qb spy while double man on their go to receiver

The runningback is the weak spot.. all you have to do is put up a few drags and slants on the wideouts inside. Put the rb on a pretty much any route from the back and he will get wide open easy. Or you could just throw up the middle lol.

so basically using the Dline to cover wrs, that's always been an efficient way to prevent passes, but i did not know how easy the pressure still gets there with 2 lineman rushing the passer, i don't think it was like that in past maddens

These types of defenses don't usually work out well against Hurry Up offense or those who hardly audible. Its better to learn a nano using only 4 players and using the rest for coverage. Learn their plays and play against them. Most players usually only have 4-5 plays they call.

Funny cuz I been "cross Manning" this whole time since Madden 25 cuz the movement was a lil stiff so I couldn't use my full usering capabilities and I swear I never copy nobody or run other people schemes cuz I don't even play like that but to see the pros do everything I do and Im jus a regular tells me I should get in these tournaments

I dont blitz from depth too much but Im not going to say how I do. Its hard for me to get A and B gap blitzes too. Its mostly outside pressure.

except you could easily beat most of what you are doing by sending your WRs on the right hand side into an out/curl combo to get a layer and have the slot receiver on the left do a quick slant to take advantage of the wide open space left in the middle of the field. Literally could beat all of what you are doing with pre-snap reads.

on my team we play base and barricade cover 1 , cover 2 and cover 3 with cb blitzing on cover 3 and mlb rolb lolb blitzing cover 1 ,2,3 I love cover 1 the most making them incompletions and talking into the head of the receivers im a corner :p love press

zfarls what do you think of a cover 2 with all lbs blitzing their gaps as a goal line run defense? I had tremendous success with it on all Madden and vs people that ive played. I won the sb on my first 16-0 all Madden season and beat my best friend 35-28 in the Super Bowl primarily due to two goal line stands using that play when he was trying to fb dive/hb dive- from a yard or two away. thanks for all your tips!

it was out of a 4-3 and I tried to hit the rb hole with the safety so it was essentially an engage 8 play but out of a cover 2 base alignment (cover 2 hard flat)

Long time vet, favor defensive play, audibling is second nature been playing so long. I'll be audibling zone coverage defenders to man cverage but my opponent will hike the ball while im audibiling and the result can often be a disasterous blunder by the defense. in general? with all the advice on audibling defenders in a video, in a real game, how can you be sure you will be fast enough with your man coverage audibles before the offense hikes the ball? and i could have asked this question of a million madden videos but i decided to ask now because ill be playing a friend in the playoffs tonight and I know his offense pretty well (were in our 6th season) so I know who to put in man coverage just wanna make sure im fast enough

What they need to do is move the Madden Playoffs to the summer, and use the madden coming up, that way they can eliminate all the cheese for the game...

So what I've learned is that, it's just a bunch of dudes who learn how to exploit computer programming. Nothing to do with skill.

But it's bad cuz that takes too long and when you're playing a game you're not gonna have the 30 seconds it takes to do that many audibles before the snap

Do you guys have any shorter videos? I never have time to sit through even 10 minutes of your vids

if the game was designed better you wouldnt have to make these gimmicky adjustments to defend certain routes. Dline should do what D line do. LBs should do what they do. DBs should do what they do. Every now and then in the NFL you see DEs drop out to mix up coverages, but to have to depend on it to be able to stop certain routes is not ideal.

Tom Brady Well, I guess the first question I have to ask is do you use coach suggestions when calling plays? If you do, that's why you don't memorize formations. If not, then I'd say you probably just aren't reading the names of the formations when calling them, or you're calling plays randomly. I have certain plays that I like to use and so I memorize the names and what formations they're in. Singleback Ace and Pistol Y-Trips are my offensive formations and 4-3 Under and Nickel 2-4-5 are my defensive formations.

what do you do about streaks over your flat coverage corners? I love running cover 2 when I know mafuckas are looking for the middle, flats, and drags, but then they run a damn streak on the outside and get a 1st on 3rd and 10. Also do you get pissed when you switch to cover 4 to stop that but then they hit the deep middle or the flats? advice? Also you prefer usering the middle coverage guy or an outside coverage guy? I think imma have to user the Free Safety to beat my homie in the playoffs tonight

just learn how to audible quickly with certain players and you'll be good. especially if you play with average joes.

I wish you didn't have to do this. This isn't football, football is a one play thing and this just feels like an arcade game

How about this..how about madden have the player stats actually mean something. There's NO WAY a defensive back should have better sack stats than an elite DL. This whole "holding OL" or "spying OL" is bullshit. If im developing the pass rush and block shed stats then my DL should be able to do it themselves regularly.

I'm not saying defenses can't be confusing for blocking in real life...but avg to elite DL still get regular pressure and push the pocket.

This is so comical. play man from opposite sides?....lmao. You'd never see trash like that. The best Defense in this game is cover 2 sink from the Nickel 245 playbook. The play a soft squat instead of a flat zone. THe soft squatter will cover threats heading down the field until a pass is made underneath where the DB will then drop off of the deep receiver to come back down to the flat to either get a pick , break up the pass, or make a tackle. I make a few 3 tweaks. Man the outside lbs on RB in the backfield(if there) and put my DEs in a buzz or flat zone depending on which routes I'm expecting. and User the middle with either 1 of my LBs. In madden you gotta decide what routes you're willing to concede until the field is short enough for you to play underneath the WRs to get INTERCEPTIONS...

this isn't real defense. I never see this in real life. they need to fix the game badd

This shit is not a realistic game, whoever heard if cross man adjustment, just glitch shit that only EA Madden titles allow u to do. Play some 2k football and try that, probably won't work. I hope yh ed Frostbite engine does a whole lot better.
