Maastricht is a city and municipality in the province of Limburg, which is located in the south of the Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of Limburg and has 122,692 inhabitants. This makes it the largest municipality in the province of Limburg. Maastricht originated at a ford in the River Maas, from which it owes its name. The city has 1676 national monuments. The historic center of Maastricht has been a nationally protected cityscape since 1982. It is truly a beautiful city that every tourist should see at least once. A walk along the remaining city wall is a tourist attraction in itself. Also visit the Vrijthof or the Market. So are you taking a trip through the Netherlands? Then definitely visit Maastricht. Traveling in Limburg is certainly a beautiful area. Due to the many hills, this region does not feel like the Netherlands. But one thing is certain... Maastricht is almost the best the Netherlands has to offer.
Close to Maastricht you have an excellent camper place for people who travel through Europe and want to see this medieval city. I would definitely recommend a city trip to Maastricht!
