This cosy city has a rich history, established by the Romans, chopped in half by the river the ''Maas'', home of the real carneval and the place where the famous ''Maastricht Treaty'' was concluded in 1992 between the then-twelve member states of the European Communities. André Rieu's hometown is known for its Burgundian character and it belongs to one of the cities that calls itself the oldest of the Netherlands. In addition, the city is unique in its kind, it has an European atmosphere and partly because of its location and folklore traditions, you imagine yourself abroad for the entire trip!
