This M52 engine is going to be used as the primary engine in my E36 track car. I have already compression test and leak down tested this engine and the numbers cam back very good. With that said, this engine had several oil leaks that needed to be addressed.
In addition, this engine will see additional stresses as a track car that it won't see as a street car. So making sure that the weak areas are addressed and replacing/upgrading other components during the overhaul removes any potential liability on the track.
