I would have never guessed that sound was coming from a cat.

I was surprised by it's call. That's the first time hearing it. I was surprised the first time I heard a lion's call, ( altho, that was years and years ago). Although, it's not as annoying as a female Siamese in heat, ( I missed getting her spade, quick enough. Back then, vets would wait for the heat cycle passed). Slept with a pillow over my head, for a couple of days.

LOL, that's crazy about your cats. I was surprised when I first heard a lynx, so strange. Thanks for the comment and watching.

I’ve experienced unexplainable things in the woods here in Maine. But yes, 99.9% of things we all experience can be easily explained, like lynx vocalizations, foxes, porcupines. But it’s hard to explain orbs the size of basketballs that hover in the valleys up north, below the mountains. It’s hard to explain the sounds of something beating against a tree that sounds like a gunshot, baseball bat loudest crack off the barrel home run ever recorded… or finding humanoid footprints that were 20” long, 8 feet apart. Or having small rocks thrown at you, or worse, a large tree being smashed down with no wind at all. I know your comment was half joke, but there aren’t many people my age (34) who have the outdoors experience, miles or time put in that I do. And I can tell you with complete certainty that the phenomenon is real. Our understanding of it is nothing but conjecture.
