Big Maine Bucks at Scrapes | 2023 - Early/Mid Rut

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Trail camera footage overlooking 4 different scrapes early October to mid November. It's been a mild fall so far and I think that has changed the activity a bit this year, but still got some nice bucks on cam. I still have 5 cameras out that overlook scrapes, with one of them only checked once, and 2 new ones that I set up. I'll probably check them in a few weeks, so there will be a part 2, late rut!. Enjoy the nice bucks!

Glad you enjoy it! 3 of the scrapes are all within a 1/2 mile of each other. I've only checked that first scrape once this season so far, so there will be more of that one, plus at least one new scrape in part 2 when I check those cams. That 9 is a big guy!

@MaineWoodsbooger Loving the big bucks, man! They started showing up mid-October for me once the temperature dropped. I don't have any real big boys this year. I will probably post a new video this weekend and maybe one more.... then I might need to take a break for a while as my baby girl should be arriving just in time for Christmas! Happy Thanksgiving, Colin!

I would love to have the time to hunt like I used to, but I'm so busy with work and my kids. I've shot a lot of nice bucks over the years, even trapped for the state. Trail cams are easy for me, set them and check them when I have time.

I might of asked this before, but are all these scrapes natural deer scrapes, or are some mock scrapes ? Great footage of how they react and come in on these. Noticed how the big boys like that big vertical branch hanging down.

You may have, not sure. These are natural scrapes, and I meant to try creating a mock scrape this year, but just didn't get around to it. I even have it on my to do list. LOL Glad you enjoyed the video!

@@MaineWoodsbooger OK good to know, and thanks for the reply ... You can be sure they will hit it if you put one close to the real ones and kind of copy the real ones. Something I've noticed with the M.S. I created Bucks don't work the dirt/ground only the licking branches or just walk right through it, might be because there young Bucks ?

Regarding that person checking your camera, Maine law requires the owners name and contact info on every camera. He may have simply checking to see who the owner was.

I agree, and my cameras are all properly labeled on the outside. There is no need to play with the cable lock, and grab the camera case trying move it, that's all. No need to get all touchy feely with it. Lol Hope you enjoyed the video.

Great trail cam footage…. As a hunter I liked just watching the pattern of the box has the time changed and the date. I don’t hunt Maine but I can apply it to my own area in Massachusetts. The buck with the drop beam was pretty predictable. Great footage keep it up brother

Private property is Private. The trespasser had zero reason for being there. Then messing with a camera they thought would be an easy grab? It's good to put your info on your camera's, stands ect. However Private property those rules shouldn't apply in my book.
