Like Britney says in her book, if my daughter would be in such distress, I would be there for her. I would hold her hand, be next to her, to fight with her. I would not make a book about it or talk about it on national tv.

I love how Britney was made out to be the "crazy" one when her mother is doing shit like this. If my mother ever made a book about me I'd never speak to her again.

Yeah let's put her on the daytime talk show circuit while her daughter can't even go to the bathroom without a chaperone.

I think her parents forget that it’s Britney who has the talent, not them! They also don’t seem to realise our kids grow up, what they have deemed as out of control was a young girl going from a child, to a teenager to a women, it’s normal to explore sexuality and styles/fashion. After reading her book partially it’s clear to see she was suffering and there was no one around her with her best interests at heart - Britney has always been a cash cow to them and they didn’t want to lose control of the person making the real money!

It's crazy will smith smacked Chris Rock for making a bald joke about his wife. But none of her family defended her in any way at all.

Yeah…. You are absolutely right. Britney’s family that the fame and the fortune belongs to “the family” and that Britney is the “family business”. You should see Britney’s brother interview. He said “our fan”. Jaime Lynn Spears refers to Florida condo Britney owns as “our condo”.

So disgusting how they talk about her like she’s a disappointment and a freak for shaving her head reacting to someone HARASSING HER by hitting his car. She got this conservatorship because everyone felt like they owned her. She was never allowed to make her own decisions, even before the court cases.

It's amazing how the stories shift according to the occasion. When Britney did the Rolling Stone interview apparently her mum said she was on board with the idea for the photoshoot, but when Britney went berserk all of the sudden she wasn't aware of anything her daughter was doing.

It’s insulting and sickening that Lynn would try to profit off Britney’s low moments for money, period. Now everyone sees Lynn for the complicit abuser that she is.

Shaving her head does not make one crazy. It was her hair. Why was that such a big deal. If she hit someone with an umbrella because they would not leave her alone, why could she not defend herself? They should have just backed off and left her alone. We all mess up at times. We all do crazy things sometimes. She was trying to cope with the whole situation. It does not mean that she cannot manage her life on her own. According to Britney's book, Lynne was giving her children alcohol at age 14. Did anyone try to take her kids away from her for doing that, or put her under a conservator ship. How about Jamie. He was an alcoholic. Why on earth was he given control over Britney? They all should be sued and made to pay back all the money they stole from Britney.

No. Terri Shields (Brooke’s mother) was a stage mom. Lynn was no mom at all. Terri Sheilds sat in on every interview Brooke did when she was young. No one did this for Britney. She was not protected in any way. Many stars know what questions will be asked in an interview. Britney was thrown to the lions. Her mom is really just stupid and is lacking in common sense as well.

My sister shaved her head once and everyone thought she went crazy and when I asked her why she did it she said she just wanted a change and it it was so liberating. People (family) still call my sister crazy. Women are always called crazy when they don't fit the norm, it's bullshit #freebritney.

here from 2022 and Britney has found her voice and is out of the conservatorship. this interview is surreal to watch in today's time. she has disclosed so much recently that put her mom's neglectful responses into perspective. so disheartening. celebrity life is much different now, but Britney really created an opportunity for so many.

The rolling stone cover is one of the most iconic magazines of all time it really was a huge deal

In defense of Britney, people should calm down including her family.

Is shocking this woman goes to write a book about her self rather than sitting with Britney and listen to her!! She should also be accountable for what they done. Parenting is not about blaming your child but listening and understanding what is going on.

I sense that Lynne is simply not very intelligent. When people say they are praying for solutions to their problems without taking any action on their part to solve them just scares me. My mother was often like this. If I was upset about a bad day or something she would pray over me like I was this ridiculous burden on her Christianity. I believe in prayer - but I don’t believe in hiding behind prayer. You still have to do your part as a parent to be there for and protect your kid.

Exactly… and I think she’s using the Christian faith thing as kind of a facade/cover to look holier than thou, and like she’s “just a concerned mother.” She should’ve been more in tune with Britney and actually trying to parent her.

In Britney’s case, it was reason enough to go out her in conservatorship. Even though she did not hurt herself or anyone!

I can't quite put my finger on the situation. I feel that Britney's mom is delusional. How can it be that after all that Federline did to her daughter, she still says nice things about him? No wonder her kids all went haywire. She was definitely not a good mother. There are so many other teenage stars that had even bigger careers than Britney. For instance Shakira, who started making music when she was 13 or something. She is a balanced confident individual, and it is because she always had a good support system in her life, a family that could guide her and be there for her always. What happenned to Britney is in large part due to her parents.

I think Lynne Spears cant always tell right from wrong... a child cant push a parent around unless the parent lets it happen. Its one thing to have a talented girl that wants to become famous but its another thing to allow her to go that far and spend all that time and money trying to actually get her there. I would have told my child to grow older first and see what life has to offer ... i mean dance classes, small competitions and being on small stages could have still been allowed. but lynne aimed very high. so i still call her a stage mom since she obviously did want her to achieve something big. Just because a child is begging for something you dont automatically have to give in. Now britney is used to this constant attention and the applause so much that she cannot live without it anymore. Plus having financial problems and an alcoholic father is not helping a child to develope in a healthy way either... no wonder britney was trying to dive into a different, exciting and sparkling world, where she could be a star and where everything was very magical. Singing and dancing also seemed to help britney to balance out negative enegry and get rid of it. Others go running or whatever and she was just simply physically active in different ways to feel balanced... and singing helps a lot to let out some emotional stress too All im saying is that lynne should ve set some limits back then. You dont have to become a star to enjoy singing and dancing really. Lynne also kinda taught britney that you get positive feedback when you show the talents you have ... as lynne liked it herself and was supporting her amd also others were always so happy to hear or see her perform.... we humans are a lot like animas..... give a dog attention and treats when he did something you liked and he ll stick to that behavior to try and make you happy as he gets attention and treats and the moods of people cheer up which dogs like Dont get me wrong i do not doubt that she loves all of her children and grandchildren and that she wants nothing but the best for them i just think that she does not know whats good for them

I hope people realise that the rolling stone picture was Britney's idea. You all think she was this sweet and innocent girl and yeah she is sweet but she totally wasn't that innocent. Think about what it's like to be a teenager, especially in your late teens: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21. People are usually at their sexual peak here. Britney at 18 was singing Oops I Did it Again and was the American sweetheart but that doesn't mean she wasn't a sexual person behind the scenes. She knew the direction she wanted to take her career in from the beginning but obviously was way too young to consider doing sexual things like the Rolling Stones picture. She learnt her lesson when the picture was published.

+stipV And her videos prior to ITZ are quite sexual, such as the outfits she wore. I think she wanted to play on that innocence vs sexuality thing, she is quite smart and I don't believe she was manufactured at all. Her managers might have pushed her to do a lot of promo but I believe the whole sexual thing came from her. She is genuinely extremely sweet and humble though so it was nice seeing the contrast between Britney the performer and Britney the person!

+. Exactly. I don't get all the hate her mother gets....honestly Britney is responsible for her own actions, not her mother. Parenting isn't always easy and parents make mistakes, but that's it. They are not responsible for EVERY single thing their child does. I mean...you know what I mean, right? :) I love Lynne, I think she loves her daughters very much.

why would you think jamie lynne would be jelous of britney? I bet its kind of the opposite.JL has her baby,a house n Lousiana, family near by, money, no paparazzi, nothing to send her into a break down. Touring is grueling work. I know I was a back stage caterer in my city for 5 years i fed every act from Robert Plan to the Judds. They live on the road for months putting on shows which is hard. Never know what day of the week it is or what city their in. No that life is not for everybody.

She refers to Britney’s property as “ours”. I have two sisters. I will never refer to her house as mine! Because it is not mine.

I think she's coy, she chose to turn a blind eye and conveniently be far away so that she wouldnt get the blame for what she knew would happen to a fifteen, sixteen year old girl in that industry. Then played shocked when there were obvious psychological consequences down the line.

Lynne could have home schooled Jamie and taken Jamie on the road with Britney, if being a start was so important. Lynne said, she was a school teacher. She should have made both daughters a priority. Leaving a young girl to fend for themselves, in a show business world is very irresponsible. Then when they don't like some of the things that Britney is doing because the media is painting Britney to be crazy, the family is ready to pounce on Britney and put her in a mental facility. Although, she does get out at times to work and make everyone lots of money.

Jamie Lynne has never showed jealousy towards her sis - only love. They have a really strong bond, and Jamie has always said she looks up to and admires her sister. They have a really good family overall given all the fame, etc.

I love how she says she had no control over the pics for Rolling Stone...Ummm...The pics were taken in Britneys bedroom in Louisiana&Lynne was saying "Wow Britney u gonna be a superstar now...Half of Britneys problems is her mother

She said she had no control over what she said when she was with her peers just like any other mom out there. And plus, what she said make sense. She is from the farm, and she doesnt have a clue about which is too far and which is acceptable for hollywood standard. I mean just imagine urself being from the farn with zero education. Then suddenly came a group of professional reporter, photographers, crew, etc. Wouldnt you be intimidated? I fucking hate it when people blame her parents. Britney herself love her mother to death. Bryan and Jamie Lyn Spears too love their mother. To me she did everything she could have done.

Jennifer Ludwig well Britney locked herself in her room with the photographer and told him to take the photos, one of her team members tried to stop the situation and that’s when Britney told him to take the photos.

She reminds me of Britney so much.

God has really turned Britney's life around, drastically!!!!

The most cruel thing you can do as a mother is turn on your own child for monetary gain. You are dirt and nothing more

You didn’t have a choice regarding the Rolling Stone photos? Britney was a minor. Her parents HAD to have given consent for them to be published. The grooming her camp use to push to make that magazine cover “her fault” is sickening.

Britney should distance herself from her mother, she should just send her a cheque monthly. Britney should keep a good team around her and all her finances under her control. I don't like this women either
