The whole time, Modric was calling for the ball and wanting the Madrid players to increase the tempo and stop playing slowly. Every time he got the ball he was turning forward and moving the ball quickly. His instinct and feel for the game is on a different level

​@ayoo8782Depends....individually modric functions better than xavi and iniesta...remember how barca fell after xavi left barca....the reason why modric will be preferred over them as he is more versatile...he provides defense,playmaking and scoring as well a lot of times....​his record in all stats are more balanced than any midfielder...people often make comparisons on basis of g+a but there is no measure for defense and game iq precisely...if you have to take 2 players...probably xavi and iniesta may work better but modric will work equally good there as well

@ayoo8782you’re right there are levels to this game. Modric has the ability to lead Croatia(a tiny country to two WC medals). Xavi & Iniesta would do none of that on their own if they played for Croatia. To much romanticizing of a couple dudes on a stacked Spanish side. Modric all day, every day over those two. Madrid all day/every day over Barcelona. Take the downvote.
