Richards doesn't need rep, he always has tech on him. Luffy only won because Mr. Fantastic couldn't use any tech, Luffy would have been disintegrated otherwise. No amount of Rubber could have saved Luffy from the Ultimate Nullifier.

Even with haki he's still resistant to them, haki only allows the attacker to hit their opponent, not negate their defence, they still have to have armament haki comparable to the defender

I think you overestimate Reed Richards. He is more of a Thinker, a planner, a strategist...less a fighter. He CAN fight, but he mostly has the Thing and the Human Torch for the attack power. Else then Luffy, his stretchiness is not a defense buff either - he's fully flesh and blood, only that he can stretch. Luffy is actually rubber, you can't really hurt him with blunt force. Plus, as seen: Luffy has Haki, both to warn him of attacks, as well as to increase his attackpower. Reed would have needed to study Luffy and prepare for the battle. As it was, he had absolutely no chance

@@blackcatpirates8134 aside from his Devil Fruit Powers....him, Ace, & Sabo are stupid strong compared to the average Joe (beating up full grown & hostile adults as children/ hunting and killing full grown beast: Bears/ Tigers etc , so i do agree his individual strength & talents play a huge role in being able to utilize his Gum Gum Powers at such a high & effective level..and to the best of Luffy's abilities. Would still be somewhat cool to to have though

One subtle thing I like about Luffy's stretchiness is he can't just, reach out and stretch. He has to impart some force into his body to make it stretch like it does, hence why he blows into his arm to inflate it, he can't just make his arm a ball by flexing. I would actually be curious to see this in a real Death Battle. Head-on Luffy absolutely has the strength advantage, but is he clever enough to outwit Reed's super genius? It's brains vs brawn: Stretchy edition.

I think that's reed's advantage. He could stretch without taking his mass away from his body but he could also put 70% of his mass into his hand to punch Namor. And brains aren't an auto-win. He would need prep

Mr fantastic with plenty of prep time probably does take Luffy down. But not in a sword fight. I absolutely believe he could analyze Luffy and show up with a salt water cannon or replicated sea stone and probably just get him in a net or something. But these Death Battles are always about what’s on hand. And this battle was accurate on that. Luffy can literally see Mr. Fantastics attacks in advance, moves much faster, and can break through his damage reduction. He’d never explode him of course, but he’d absolutely leave the man in an unconscious puddle.

samuel silva In the comics stories and shows I watched Mr. FANTASTIC made it a common point that he was not very good at combat and, infact, used that to help teach the importance of smarts and wit in a world with Wolverine, Sabertooth, Galactus, and the like. If he did become a powerful fighter, then it undermines what made him awesome in the first place, and messes with his character.

samuel silva but again that was the point of the character, sure he punched people, but his ability was crafting machines out of things and using science and his wits to prevail. The fighting was done by THING and Human Torch, and he mocked them for resorting to violent means.

@KurdischerHengst7 That's like saying that Naruto could beat Superman. Saitama and Superman are in the same boat: they're both as strong as they need to be. If ever there were to be another Chuck Norris vs Segata Sanjiro match up, it would be those two - although it would be in Superman's favor, if only because he has finer proven control in space. Naruto doesn't compare to either, however. That said, Naruto would take out everyone else in OPM with ease (with the exception of _maybe_ Tatsumaki. And King, of course.), along with plenty of the DC line up.

YES!! FINALLY Can I just say that I am 100 percent sure that my suggestion was in part what got this vid going Ive been requesting this fight on death battle pages for literally years now and I half to say its about goddamn time!!

Alright, I gotta give this one to Luffy in a 1v1 situation with no prep. Mr. Fantastic is better known for countering world ending threats with a bit of prep and gear, so if he had some time, Mr. Fantastic could have pulled out some sort of "ultimate nullifier" weapon to counter Luffy. But with no time and against Haki, Mr. Fantastic wouldn't stand a chance.

That's if he can grab someone at his speed lol his new snake mode is way faster than gear 4th and 2nd combined he can go faster than someone reading the future he had to go this fast to be able to beat katakuri. Luffy also has the kings haki he can knock mr fantastic out by looking at him. Also its not like mr fantastic was the only one fighting he is not even close to celestial power.

The only way Reed could win is if he had time to study Luffy in advance and come up with a gadget that makes it so Luffy can't stretch or is frozen or something (and is allowed to use weapons and gadgets) in a straight up fight, this is over in 2 seconds.

that was a nice little short comic vs anime battle, great job chad and the other guys behind this

pretty accurate, richards could probably win in if he had the time to study luffy and prepare. But death battle don't allow the fighters to do that. It would be a straight up brawl...That luffy can easily win with haki. It can pierce devil fruit defenses, but not only, it works by hitting the "spirit" of the ennemy so it would nullify richard's body ability to tank hits...And without that he is physically a normal human tanking island splitting punches.

it is: the attacks have little momentum and the sound effects are ether underwhelming or set so loud that they peak the audio making a crackling sound. the fight is really short lasting only 42 seconds and the ending is anticlimactic.

With the gauntlet thanos wins unless hes in the dc universe... cause the gauntlet then has 0 effect outside of its own universe..... without the gauntlet darkseid literally stomps hard. This wasn't even a contest. Luffy was trained from childhood to be stupidly strong by his even stronger grandfather, he's completely immune to attacks that aren't from a blade or infused with Haki, and Luffy can get even faster and stronger with his Second, Third, and his Fourth Gears. Can Mr. Fantastic do any of that?

A day worth of beating, a hook in a gut, couple of explosion in a face, a punch from Pirate the size of Godzilla, attack direct at internal organ and got frozen solid and he is doing perfectly Okay. Sharp rock not going to cut it. Mr.Fantastic have to bat out a disintegration beam to even have a chance and do you remember when Luffy's dodge a laser from Pacifista A LIGHTSPEED ATTACK. Mr.Fantatic should not even get a hit in.

They didn't even acknowledge all of Zoro's arsenal and he still won. But yeah...That's a great battle nonetheless. Seeing Luffy in an episode would be great as well.

This would be an interesting Death Battle episode. On one hand, Mr. Fantastic is smarter than Luffy. But on the other hand, Luffy has more combat experience than Mr. Fantasic. Please make this an official Death Battle episode

@@rayking5399 Well Luffy really doesn’t have anything in his arsenal to actually hurt Reed. Keep in mind his whole body is rubber. So he can get punched, crushed, kicked, all that stuff and it he could just shrug it off like it was nothing. Not to mention that he was able to hold his ground against people like Thor, Hulk, Hercules, and many others. At the same time. So when it comes to durability, it’s kinda of a stretch (ba dum tss) but Reed takes the upper hand in this Now the real challenge is speed. Both Luffy and Reed have dodged lasers before. The difference is Luffy dodged it from a Kuma robot and waited for the blast to reach a certain point before moving. Reed on the other hand dodged interstellar beams from Galactus

There's a reason they're making anime characters fight comic book characters in DBZ instead of DB. Most comic book characters would stomp anime characters. Even in this one, Reed would win in a fight. His power is stronger, he's smarter, he's a more experienced fighter, and has machines to cover all of his weak spots. All Luffy has is a rubber body, haki, and an intense life of training from his insane marine grandfather.
