You more or less just described like 90% of these match-ups.

Just to let you guys know, Shoto's scar isn't from the boiling water--his left side is fire, which means it's resistant to heat. The burn comes from his mother instantly realizing what she's done and by instinct attempting to cool the burn with her ice powers.

@@Plusle843 He's resistant to all flames? Quirk flames aren't magical or anything, it's just like any other fire, except he can control it to a degree. And he can even be burned by his own flames. Hell, Dabi who had hotter flames AS A CHILD and an INTOLERANCE to said flames never burned himself too badly until the...incident.

Not only that, but he could've freed himself from being frozen. There was a scene in the first season of the show where Zuko was fighting Katara and she froze Zuko almost exactly like Todoroki did. Zuko then freed himself by snorting hot steam. He couldn't move, like Wiz and Boomstick said he needed in order to free himself. He just merely snorted.

As demonstrated in Katara vs Azula, being completely encased in ice to the point she couldn't move, Azula was helpless. Todoroki can do the same thing and completely freeze him solid. Not to mention the fact the only time we've seen Zuko unleash city block level fire attacks was when he was boosted by Sozin's Comet, and normally his attacks just don't match the scale of Todoroki's quirk.

Dante Basco always voicing Zuko whenever somebody needs him. He must protect his honor

This was the second Death Battle to not only employ a character from the Avatar series, but also use the "Cabbage Merchant" joke. Although, whoever voiced the Cabbage Merchant should've changed voice tone to reflect that it had already happened before.

Comparing the shows visually directly. It seemed Todoroki would've won even in the early seasons of his show. In his match for the exams he froze the arena so fast to such a degree that even if Zuko had lightning reflexes, he wouldn't have any time to make any movements to cast fire. Even then they only showed that scale of fire during the comet. While Todoroki basically has an ice age in no time without flinching.

I feel like it could’ve gone either way, even with todo winning my only problem is we’ve seen Zuko break out of a block of ice in the North Pole at night, and that was season 1. Him being frozen during the day time when the sun makes fire benders stronger and he loses like that? Feel like he was downplayed in that aspect. But we all know they’d just have group therapy with Iroh anyway if they ever met.

The saddest part was the cabbage man losing his cabbages. *Again* Man he can’t catch a break can’t he?

Dante Basco has a working relationship with Rooster Teeth. He voiced Snake in Camp Camp, has been on the RT Podcast, was on Hardcore Tabletop: World Series, and has been at least a couple of their Let's Plays in the past. The one I was surprised by was when they DIDN'T get Hiei's voice actor in for the Hiei v Sasuke Death Battle, because Chuck Huber has been on Death Battle before; he voiced Tony Stark in Iron Man v Lex Luthor.

@@imaloony8 Probably due to contracts most anime studios (especially Funimation) make it so their VA's have to sign contracts so that they can only voice the character in said content and not anywhere online or in fan projects. It's why they got DBZA Vegeta's VA to do Vegeta and Keji Tang to voice All Might, instead of Chris Sabat despite him, I believe being on DB before as another character. Same reason why they likely couldn't get Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt to voice Sasuke and Mitsuru despite them both working on other RT projects.

technically if an airbender can get close it can completely overpower firebending and render them useless. It's been seen in legend of korra that airbenders can steal the air from people's lungs rendering people unable to breath- the one thing a firebender absolutely needs to firebend.

This is how it could have been: Todoroki is out and about creating ice to cross a river Zuko is nearby and sees Todoroki. Todoroki then gathers firewood and lights it on fire to rest for the night "The Avatar...." Zuko says Zuko approaches Todoroki and says "Hello, Zuko here. You must be the Avatar! I will capture you to restore my honor!" Todoroki then says "Avatar? What is this guy talking about?" Zuko then whips out some of his flames Todoroki then replies: "You have fire quirks too?" Zuko replies with "Quirks? What are you on about Avatar?" Todoroki: "I will not have someone with the same powers as my father best me! You will die!" FIGHT! Fight Ending: Todoroki: "Look! Your honor!" points behind Zuko Zuko: Turns around "Where!?!?" Todoroki: Kills Zuko with an attack KO

I sort of knew without watching MHA that Zuko would lose. He doesn't have much special going on besides fire bending. He's never successfully lightning bended, only redirected it, he's never lava bended... And his physical abilities are just peak human.

Lava bending is for earth benders. Zuko has used fire bending with his dual swords before to do some cool techniques. He might have stood a chance if the fight was during sozin's comet and not boosting todoroki's fire with it but I'm still not sure

@@Bob-wr4vg If we are using End of Series Zuko with Sozin's Comet Amp, then it's fair to use Current Manga Todoroki, and the outcome would be the same (if not even more one-sided). Todoroki is now mostly on Endeavor's level in terms of firepower (who is beyond Sozin's Comet Firebending), and he instantly put on ice an entire city block, including several skyscrapers from an immense distance. He also withstood Dabi's flames. He was able to neutralize Dabi's flames despite being hit by them point blank and at one point even being engulfed in them, and Dabi's flames are explicitly hotter than Endeavor's.

Wyndell Lee Actually with recent information from the manga it’s dubious wether Shoto’s claims about the Quirk marriage was actually what really happened. Doing calculations on his would show that at most he would’ve been relatively young when he married his wife, like right out of adolescence. And it was revealed that Shoto wasn’t even his first choice as a successor, it was his oldest brother Toya, who possessed a stronger flame quirk but had his mother’s weak constitution, and he was about ten to twelve years older than Shoto. So with everything the Manga showed it’s unlikely that his wife was actually strong armed or forced into anything.

Firebending is harder in areas with cold temps and high humidity. For instance, at the North Pole, the defenders forced back a firebender armada multiple times, and those Imperial bastards came prepared for class with ALL the dirty tricks. Zuko went into this already suffering a pretty large handicap, and had no ability to deal with Todoroki's massive OP PLZ NERF ice walls. Tbh, Zuko lost this pretty hard going in.

They often mention it in the show and manga that Bakugous reflexes are insane. Later it is also speculated that Bakugo is the fastest in 1A after Lida, even though he is bulky (hinted on during the class 1a vs XXXX fight). Not to mention he basically managed to outmanoeuvre six members of the league of villains during the Kamino fight all at once. Including Compress and Mag who have very quick quirks as well. Dekus speed style using full cowling was originally Bakugous speed style as well and he later leans to compress his explosions to give him a comet like speed boost. Shoto learns heat compression as well in season 5.

@@rest1585 It's the Sharingan Argument. In case you're not an anime fan, Sasuke (Sharingan User) can effectively predict an opponent's movements. Even with this ability to cheat reaction time, Sasuke still got his ass handed to him by Rock Lee because Rock Lee was MUCH FASTER than Sasuke. Sasuke saw through the movements but couldn't respond in time. Back to this scenario, Dark Shadow was fast enough to intercept Kaminari's lightning. Even if Bakugo's reflexes were fast enough to keep up, it wouldn't be worth much unless he was also capable of moving fast enough for his reflexes to matter. And they were. Bakugo outmaneuvered Dark Shadow. And Todoroki is more or less on Bakugo's level. Dark Shadow, Bakugo, and Todoroki, therefore, have feats that put their combat speeds at about the speed of lightning.

Spoiler alert: The one with the scarred face wins.

seriously, what was Zuko gonna do here? It looks like he gets outclassed in everything but speed, but they’re equals there.

Realistically if these two met Zuko would see himself in todoroki. Hed act as a surrogate brother for todoroki. Iroh would offer tea and life advise while the todoroki siblings would gladly welcome the two into their family. Todoroki gets the worlds greatest uncle while Zuko gets to see what its like to have siblings who care for you. Now for the real question In a fight between Uncle Iroh and Gentle Criminal, how long would it be until they sit down and have a cup of tea?

I think it's worth mentioning that fire actually needs 3 elements to burn: heat, fuel and oxygen! You remove jus ONE of those elements, simply put, no fire! That's how the three different fire extinguishers work and why in Pokémon the Fire-Type actually has three weaknesses, Water, Rock and Ground! The water cools (best used on woods, paper, metal), "removing the heat", CO2 or Rock (best used on electrical fires) starves by cutting off the oxygen supply and CBS Foam and Ground smother (best used on petroleum and oil based fires), dissipating the fuel! There is another one, used in kitchens, the fire blanket as none of those three would work in that environment! You DO NOT use water on a chip pan fire!
