@@a4Audi2153 Model S LR is just severely software limited off the line. Plus it is about 500 lbs heavier than a Model 3. The 275 wide tires in the rear will allow the Model 3 Ludicrous to greatly increase torque off the line. The 60 foot time will come WAY down for the Model 3. I think people are going to be shocked with what they announce on Tuesday.

It’s so weird to not hear the roar with so much HP going down the strip. That Lucid getting a high 8.94 is just crazy fast. That teaser at the end with the Demon and Lucid can’t wait to watch it.

Plenty of nice used Plaids for sale for around $65k right now. Not bad for bang for your buck 4 door sedan with 150k mile warranty.

Yea tesla will have to add an entire extra motor just to compete. Unlike porsche which just improved their 2 motors and its now lighter then both of these and retained a light weight 2 motor setup. Handles way better and it's faster then the plaid. Faster then both around the track. Imagine if porsche only cared about straight line speed. 4 of their motors would be an under 8 sec easily. But they wanna still make it a great all around performance car. Porsche engineering has out done tesla at their own game in a very short amount of time.

This week is so gotdam great with good races, yesterday it was published the first race between sf90 and revuelto, today there is this great electric race, and also anoher electric race (plaid vs zeekr 001 fr), and soon we will see supfire vs demon 170, thank you very much, I am so happy.

It's on another level to the Plaid than just performance. There is much better range, handling, but also drives and has suspension of something like an S Class. It's far more luxurious, and apparently, the focus wasn't when creating the Lucid was sheer speed or acceleration. It's in a completely different league to the Plaid. You get what you pay for so naturally it's going to be more expensive. It's a better product!

But it had probably nearly 4 there on thelat last run because of the slow reaction from Brooks in the Tesla. On the road the Plaid does better though. The extra torque and atock tires for the Sapphire means it spins more. On a sticky track like this the Sapphire will win by 2-3 cars

Once Lucid starts to scale and gets the brand recognition it deserves it will be the standard in the EV sector.

I hope they last competition is good! That said the ability to fold the seats and the larger interior space to hold bikes, the charging network, the full self driving... there is just a lot of value a tesla offers.

Yea tesla will have to add an entire extra motor just to compete. Unlike porsche which just improved their 2 motors and its now lighter then both of these and retained a light weight 2 motor setup. Handles way better and it's faster then the plaid. Faster then both around the track. Imagine if porsche only cared about straight line speed. 4 of their motors would be an under 8 sec easily. But they wanna still make it a great all around performance car. Porsche engineering has out done tesla at their own game in a very short amount of time.

I dont understand. But why compare a 2 million dollars rimac and a 250 thousand dollars lucid and say that te 89 thousand dollars tesla is dogsht. If you gave elon a 2 million dollars budget, the whole car industry is cooked in and out

Not really... No 250k car is going to become "the standard". The standard EV right know is a Tesla Model Y.

When Hagerty posted their Sapphire vs Plaid vs Chiron a few months back, I knew the results weren't going to be different.

Remarkable how similar Sapphire and Plaid look side by side. Not surprising the engineers came from Tesla. What is truly remarkable is how much they improved it. If using for anything other than at the drag strip the Plaid would be good enough for me.

by the time u uploaded this video tesla price dropped to 83k 😂😂😂 edit:it dropped to 81.5k and full self driving is now 8k

Looking at what a Plaid now cost, should tell people a lot about how much of a shafting Elon gave his customers. I would be livid if I had bought a Tesla.

Great races! Not gonna lie, I watched the Demon 170 race vs Sapphire maybe 5X at the end of the video. It looked perfect. 😁

The sapphire might be way more expensive but my god is it so much prettier. Interior and exterior, can’t wait to see the cheaper higher production versions of the lucid air (sapphire is their first model and they started with the highest end version of the lucid air)

Question: when you charge car to car, will it always charge the lower powered car? aka balance them out or can you charge a car that is 93% state of charge with a car tat is at 15%

You tell the car how much power you want it to push over to the receiving unit. You can push 10% out of a car with 30% battery to a car with 80% battery, leaving you with just about 90% and 20%, respectively.

0 - 60 in 1.7 secs for $250K vs 1.9 secs for $88K. That's about 3 times the cost for .2 secs. That's nothing to do with a poor man buying the Plaid; it's more to do with a fool buying the Lucid. 😂

Today I watched video zeekr 001 fr vs tesla plaid, and zeekr won. The surface was bad, and the reslts were 9,5 fo zeekr and 9,8 for tesla. Thats why it will be thery interesting to see zeekr vs lucid.

Tesla PLAID full spec W/ Track pack is way BETTER.

Do you ever use the ‘Save Dashcam’ option in the Tesla? Makes for decent captures, especially for someone who doesn’t have action cameras.

Ive driven the Lucid Dream. Waaay nicer than Tesla. Its a luxury car where Tesla is more of a premium economy car. I will be getting the Dream for my next car unless the Saphire drops way cheaper like the Plaid did. Either way, America wins 🇺🇸

We don't. We just know these two cars aren't even comparable since one costs more than twice as much as the other. I'd be fucking pissed if I bought a lucid for 250k and it couldn't beat a 120k Model S plaid. Also, At least Tesla makes money on their cars and will be around for a long time. Lucid will go bankrupt before they become profitable. "We're faster than a Tesla but can't make money" isn't a viable business plan.

@@themonsterunderyourbed9408 why would you be pissed? People spend way more money than that on cars that don't go as fast. There are other reasons that people buy expensive cars other than 0-60 or quarter mile times. Every G wagon owner, Lucid owner, Rolls Royce owner, Bentley owner, S class owner etc could've purchased multiple Model S' but they chose something with better build quality and a lot more luxury, better ride etc.. If all you care about is quarter mile times then get a 90s Honda Civic with a laptop and smoke every Plaid you see. The logic ain't logical.

Both awesome performances cars! I'd love to drive either one

Spoke with a gentleman with a brand new Plaid Model S at a Supercharger last year, and asked him what he thought of it. He liked it, but was more concerned with kids getting them in a few years on the second hand market. The capability of any modern car vs what we were all driving 20 years ago is pretty eye opening when you think about it.
