Amazing, they were both in their older years but both voices still immaculate. I was fortunate enough to see James Brown live in 1991 he's was incredible although he was 58 he was still dancing, singing and performing like he was in his 20's, he made us all sing his name and would not come out until he was happy we'd sung it loud enough, he was a very special talent indeed.

Let's not also forget at this time Pavarotti was in incredible back pain hence why he is sitting down and also that his mentor and father Fernando Pavarotti died 2 days prior to this epic performance. This was a bad year for Pavarotti's personal life, he lost both his parents and his only son in the space of 12 months

@@jackwhitbread4583 you could see the pain etched on Pavarotti's face, and having suffered such personal loss too makes the whole performance more emotional and even more incredible, he was the consummate professional and one of my favourite tenors along with Placido Domingo.

Hey guys, thank you for a great reaction! I'm not sure wether it was Pavarotti's idea, but he hosted a series of 10 benefit concerts between 1992 and 2003 in his hometown Modena and invited fantastic musicians to perform their songs together with him. This event was named "Pavarotti and friends". The proceeds from the events were donated to humanitarian aims, for children and refugees in countries in the world. These events are available as DVDs. I think this concert took place 2002 when Pavarotti was 67. He died with 71. He was really the greatest Tenor (in my opinion) of all time and is also one of Dimash's greatest idols! No wonder! So I suggest more Dimash reactions. ;-) Since you love Queen and Freddie - Dimash did a cover of Queens "Show must go on" when he was 22, and he and "The Super Vocal Boys" did a Queen medley. Or you jump right into the presence and take the fantastic new song "Stranger", I leave you the link here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nnqnpJeBhtHTg6Q.html Thank you so much for your enthusiasm for good music, I am really looking forward to new reactions, I like you guys!

Yes it was most definitely Luciano's idea. He became obsessed with raising money for refugee children and it was not just these benefit concerts, he also did a lot of volunteer work and will got stuck into it. He was heartbroken by the lives of these poor children and did all he could to make millions of lives better

Thank you guys for this great reaction! And the translation goes: “The man persecutes the power, but he doesn’t know That the great limit against himself, will appear In the hand, it tightens an idea That doesn’t live, that in his fantasy it wished, That if he doesn’t remember that later, nothing else has sense If he lives only for himself Nothing else has sense If he lives only for himself” Also, James changed the lyrics for this performance. He changed “You know that man makes money, to buy from other man,” to “Man makes liras, pesos, dollars, rupees, to buy from every good woman and every good man.” One of the most powerful duets ever!

Pavarotti: Man/(the mankind) chases power but he doesn't know that the great limit has to be how it will be done. In the palm he holds an idea who does not live, that in his fantasy… he wanted if you don't notice that then nothing makes sense anymore if one lives only for oneself. ------------------------------------------------------------------ It's a Man's Man's Man's World lyrics Artist: Luciano Pavarotti •Featuring artist: James Brown Album: Pavarotti & Friends Brown: This is a man's world, this is a man's world and But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, nothing Without a woman or a girl You see, man made the cars To take us over the road Man made the trains To carry heavy loads Man made electric lights To take us out of the dark And man made the boat for the water, Like my bible says Noah made the ark This is a man's world But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, nothing Without a woman or a girl Pavarotti: L'uomo rincorre il potere ma lui non sa che il grande limite ha da essere come si fará. Nel palmo stringe un ‘idea che non vive, che nella sua fantasia… volle se non si accorge che poi nulla ha piú senso se si vive solo per sé. Brown: Man thinks about a little bitty baby girl And a baby boy Man makes then happy Because man makes them toys And after man made other things he can Man makes liras, pesos, dollars, rupees To buy for every good woman and every man This is a man's world, Pavarotti: Nulla ha piú senso se si vive solo per sé. Brown: But it wouldn't be nothing, Without a woman or a girl. Pavarotti: Solo per sé. Brown: He's lost in the wilderness, He's lost in bitterness. Pavarotti: Se non si accorge che poi nulla ha piú senso se si vive solo per sé, solo per sé, per sé. Brown: This is a man's world, yeah.

Totally agree that we need live performances. I couldn’t afford concerts when I was younger. I’m in my 50s and going to classic. rock concerts. So far this summer I’ve seen Styx, Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, Staind, and Korn. I see Faith No More later this month. I look forward to a Kansas City Symphony concert this fall. And so much live jazz in my town. Live music is for the soul.

Hardest working man in showbiz? Really? Did he continue to work when both his parents and only son died in a 12 month period? No that was pavarotti. Did he have a breakdown because his manager took advantage of jim and worked him harder than a dog? Nope, also pavarotti. Did he raise more money for charity through concerts and volunteer work than any other performer that has ever lived? Again no also Pavarotti. Bit of respect for the legend that was Luciano Pavarotti please.
