OMG! I ordered the Safir from Amazon yesterday and it came today. I slathered it on, wrapped it in Saran Wrap and let it sit for 5 hours. Almost all of it was soaked in, and what was left had become very sticky. This had the side effect of "welding" the scales back down. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH. The boots are perfect now,. They went from a furry hot mess to perfection. I know it takes a bunch of time and effort to make an instructional video. Also the potential for rude comments fron marginal characters is real! I hope that hasn't happened to you, but if it does, ignore them all because you really helped me today.

I have quite a few pairs of Lucchese Classics I have been collecting over the years. You can determine the exact date they were made by the stamped code in the boot. I have a pair of Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Larry Mahan's I bought in 1991 in Reno. Don't wear them often but I can tell you if you maintain them properly they will last. Good tip on the Saphir. Great product.

Gracias Amigo, very detailed and well explained. I’ve a pair I gotta get cleaned up and soften up a bit. Much appreciated

I know this is an old video but even at $450 that is a steal for those! Lucchese had some rattlesnake boots in a very limited number just for cyber monday last year and were sold out in like 5 minutes and cost ~$2,100. I saw them come up but no way am I paying that kind of money for them. Hope yours are holding up!

Awesome looking! In the end, a very fair deal. Like you, I never bust a deal either. I've been wanting a pair too, in Lucchese or better yet, Black Jack's. Thank you for this video, well done man! 👍

Thanks for making this video! Have a pair of snakeskin & a pair of python (both second hand, bought like new but dry…) Been looking to see what the best products would be before I clean & condition my growing collection 😊. Boot party on the floor coming soon 😂

Very helpful video. Thank you for taking the time. If the scales are curled does the Safir get them to bay down flat again? I keep reading that there’s nothing you can do. I’ve used the Scout and it made a huge improvement but they aren’t staying down as they dry. Hope they can be saved - they are so beautiful. 🙏🙏

In my experience, applying the saphir and wrapping them with Saran Wrap, letting them soak it up, will soften the skin and it should lay down flatter

I just purchased a pair of vintage (late 90’s) eastern Diamond back rattle snake boots and they came dry and brittle! I put about 5 coats of Scout exotic Reptile cleaner and conditioner and they became super soft and supple. I ordered Saphir Reptan and it took a day to come (Amazon) I applied it today like he says on the video and I didn’t like how the cream is like as if you’re applying Elmer’s glue to the scales. It’s sticky and thick! I went ahead and applied and it seemed to lay all the scales down. It like cemented them down and the softness from the Scout conditioner went away. The saphir did make the scales that were stubborn and bent, made them lay down and now they look great. I just don’t like how they became stiff in some way. I will use Saphir reptan once in a blue moon. I will stick to the Scout!

Those are badass.. Too bad they don't really sell those anymore.. I have been saving up to make a buy from Caboots online.. They allow you to design the boot how you like it. They run about $1000. I've gotta give em a try..

Most people have no honor! I’ve sold things in the past and was offered more money and declined. A deal is a deal. What conditioner do you use for your Shark boots? Thanks

Same…. I’ve had people offer far more money after I’ve already agreed to a deal. Once I’ve made a deal, it’s in stone, to me. I use the Scout reptile spray conditioner on my sharks. The shark skin is very resilient and after a spray down and buff, they look great again.
