Yes I got to admit comparing them two boots the Lucchese look better pretty boot. . I've never owned a set of lucchese almost bought a pair a couple of months ago. They had a very good price on them. Full quill ostrich for around $400. I already had a pair that looked a lot like them .

Thanks brother. I was at Cavenders today with both of these in my hands. I had never heard of Black Jacks before today. After hearing your thoughts I'm definitely leaning towards the more aggressive Black Jacks. Thanks for the video 😀

Lucchese Walters look great, hate that they’ve been upping the price so frequently, while Black Jack keeps it honest and reasonably priced.

In this case the Black Jacks might look more aggressive, but notice that in this case both brands are a different cut.

Wonder what the differences are in the things we can't see - insole, heel counter, interior leather lining quality - that affect longevity. Both look great, but the edge definitely goes to Black Jack. I think I'd be happy to own either pair.

I got 4 pair of black jacks had them made to order the oldest pair I have is 30 years old. And they look like they did when they first come out of the box . the only way you can tell they are used is the bottom of the soles.

Man I’ve been eyeing this natural alligators from black jack. Those are beautiful boots. You got quite a collection going. Have you ever looked into Rios of Mercedes?

I have looked at them…they’re the parent company of Anderson Bean, if I remember correctly. Never owned any but have always thought they had pretty sharp looking boots

@@MightySmaug I was up at pinto ranch a couple weeks ago. They have a Rios elephant that I thought was the most beautiful boot I have ever seen. Better in person than on the site for sure. My next boot for sure.

I usually buy Black Jack boots but was considering a pair of Lucchese....Do you wear the same size in both brands? I know the Mexican made Lucchese's run small but I'm concerned with how the American made Lucchese's fit in comparison?

They fit the same for me..I wear an 11 in both brands

What is your regular every day athletic shoe size? I found that with Black Jack, I had to go down a full size from my everyday running shoe size, same as Tony Lama.

I wear an 11…my Lucchese’s and Black Jacks run very close for me.

I got a couple pairs of black jacks from Pinto Ranch. They both have loose threads and minor blemishes. Seems quality control is a bit lacking, unfortunately. That said, they fit really really well and look great unless you inspect them like a weirdo.

I do have a high expectation of very expensive boots within reason. I have everyday boots and dress occasion boots. Something minor does not concern me but something that I focus on whenever I look at the boot, would be cause for me to exchange them.

@@MightySmaug While the Black Jacks I got are not their super expensive ones, 550 bucks is still not cheap. You would expect better. Not gonna return them, I'm just never going to get that brand again - at least via mailorder..

Blackjacks look to be hornback where the Lucchese don’t. But Lucchese also has hornback.

I think they look terrible.

Lucchese are HIGHLY overpriced. All because celebrities wear them. Not at all worth it. Rather have any brand besides Lucchese.

black jack is the custom man that left luchese and started his own brand. yet, the leathers are stiffer on black jack. i have 4 pairs of luchcese, wont give them up for life

I have not found that to be the case. I have 6 pairs of Black Jacks and 6 pair of Lucchese. I have found the leather to be very comparable…in fact, my BJ Rattlesnakes have the softest leather of any of my boots.
