The wax in the Reptan can crack when put on a part of the boot which flexes, causing a white flaky appearance until brushed again, but there’s zero danger in Reptan causing the hide to crack.

I do mine once a month. This is the recommendation from the Tecovas website.
The back cut shows the belly, and the belly cut shows the back? Seems reasonable lol great looking boot either way.
