Luca Changretta Vs Tommy Shelby Body Language Analysis | Peaky Blinders | Shayan Wahedi

Iconic Scene and Body Language Analysis (breakdown) of Tommy Shelby and Luca Changretta.
A lot of people have been killed. A vendetta is declared, yet the two top dogs had never met. Until now. Fantastic scene.
I also (briefly) cover table power dynamics.

    This scene was so epic. But for me, the more epic one is when Luca met with Alfie. Alfie just literally destroyed him with his smooth body language )

  • @GenX-Rising

    @GenX-Rising

    3 жыл бұрын

    Alfie destorys everybody when it comes to bowing up, and the unpredictable and eccentric dialogue he uses also puts the other person even more off guard and makes them even more effected by Alfie's flexing and strutting but one of the coolest things I've ever read was in an article about the show where the producers had basically given Tom Hardy a starting point and how to finish and what to accomplish between the starting point and then end and Tom improvises everything inbetween which I totally believe because Tom pretty much only plays "alpha" badasses in every role and just knows how to project a fearless, powerful, "alpha" archetype, and I'm sure he's had training, acutally of course he's had training, but most of what is on film is pure Tom accessing his dark side and creating a character unlike any others. In Taboo, he does it again with the character creates. I'd love to see a BLA breakdown of his character from Taboo...it would be epic

  • @GenX-Rising

    @GenX-Rising

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@marygreenfield9964 exactly. That's what i said. He doesn't play games. He doesn't talk trash unless it's during business to push buttons and when it hits the fan, he's carefully and intentionally built a reputation for being unpredictable. The way he busted the "bakers" face because the guy next to the "baker" laughed to make a point. He didn't say a word when the guy laughed until after he struck first and then explained in his own brilliant way the reason for hitting the other guy. It's the people that don't feel the need or see the point to trash talk before doing violence that are the most dangerous. He is always in people's heads, he's fearless and the prospect of death seems to excite him. He doesn't care about the rank and file of anyone that pisses him off like the Russian captain general that he puffed up to, started him through the eyes and talked about his mum being chased through the woods in the snow by "you people". I guarantee you that nobody in Russia could talk to a guy of that rank without getting publicly executed and Alfie knew that but didn't care and virtually made the dude crap his pants and then proceeded to rip them off right in their faces knowing they wouldn't do anything about it. The bifocals and the cane is all intentionally used as a way to get people to drop their guard by underestimating him. I never said Alfie played games, i said that by carefully curating a legendary reputation with mystique and unpredictability, fearing nothing and being intelligent enough to use his psychopathic personality traits to his advantage is what gave him the ability to bow up on people make them cower down. Hell, even Thomas told Alfie that he was right about what he was saying and went from about to shoot him to agreeing with him and Shelby is extremely impulsive when he's frantic and pissed off like when his son gets kidnapped

Also subscribed too! ❤️🙂

    I felt disheartened when John died. He was one of my favorite characters amongst all. The main reason I felt really bad about John dying was because of the way he died. It would've been so much better if they had built up more suspense before his death like having to see a decent gunfight scene where John takes cover in his house or anywhere rather than just make him walk straight towards a bunch of shooters all aiming at him. But what's done is done and it was really disappointing.

    The unit time where they really build up to a death is the Tommy car bomb. The deaths are sudden, hits you hard because you expect a signal like most shows and movies big builds. I actually like that I couldn’t really anticipate if they would make it. Oh and Tommy’s grave dug moment too. Seeing a pattern there

Shows how confident and how much he doesn't care killing John. Did anyone else think that the way Luca flipped the bullet across the table was perfect? It looked like it was going to fly off but lands perfectly in front of Tommy.

    There are many situation in which it isn't possible. But to cover all of that, won't give many people any value. Being confident about who you are despite having spinal problems, creating an environment that thrives and gives people value regardless of those problems and taking on life with a right attitude paired with effective action, that alone makes someone high-status.

    Your video's is just something else. You are putting so much work to them, everythig just done very well. The way you talk, edit videos is making them so encourage to watch. What you should do is focus on what you're doing and make more about popular series going on, because of people who are intersted in those series, it should make your channel getting ever bigger in no time.

    I think you should consider making a video on how to respond to verbal aggression within different types of people. Example, when to explode and retaliate verbally, or when to keep calm and collected in order to win a verbal fight. As always, keep producing these fantastic videos👍.

    Amazing content Shayan, I am totally hooked. A lot of information packed in these videos, and really fun to watch. One thing I notice though, is you do not distinguish between the actors, and the characters. For example it might not be Luca, but the actor that was nervous. I do not know if this is deliberate on your part. But I think it's important to consider.

    Great point. In the personality videos that is what I am doing to a certain degree as you’ll see with the next upload🔥 Will Smith is one of those great examples between actor and adopting a persona (same with Daniel Craig as James Bond). Regardless, watching Cillian Murphy in a regular interview is completely different than watching him adapting the persona of Thomas Shelby. Again, you brought up a great point.🔥

    I loved this scene when I saw it the first time. These 2 amazing actors having fun while delivering outstanding performances was mind-blowing. To see it, deconstructed and fully explained just enhances the experience. The psychological conflict is amazing in this season, also my favorite one. (season 4)

    Amazing video (and the series as well)! Spent the past few days of winter break dwelling in this channel and really learned a lot. Phenomenal work and many thanks for all this enlightening content! For this video, definitely agree with the most of it, but do have a few different interepretations (not disapproving or trying to argue, just sharing my two cents and looking forward to being inspired by different POVs as well): 1. Luca lowering his head while entering the room: personally think Luca lowered his head because he was checking out the room and his surroundings since it's his "stage" for the next few minutes. Also, the movement of "checking out" displays his confidence and effortlessness - because instead of stiffly and cautiously focusing on his rival Tommy, he was so at ease that he could spare his attention for something else. 2. Luca cutting off eye contact first: noticing he shifted his eyes to his cuff (and then he did go on to adjust his cufflinks), I am more inclined to believe he was purposefully displaying an attitude of nonchalance rather than pretending to submissive, especially combined with his psychology: Luca walked in here, knowing that Tommy had been disarmed already, and started to play with him a little because it would thrill him more watching Tommy be shocked, then panic. He knew he was in utter dominance (like a cat playing with a mouse in its paws) and therefore, I think nonchalance and arrogance would make a bit more sense than submissiveness (just my personal POV, might be mistaken). 3. Luca playing with cufflinks: I think this is a movement we commonly see a lot of popular alpha male characters make (like in 007 movies James Bond adjusted his cufflink after safely landing on the ground) and I would interpret it as a display of power and status here. Background knowledge is that cufflinks are the kind of accessories that indicate one's privilege and high social status because it was hard to put on and, originally, implies that you have servants to assist you (same logic why white and beige suits were deemed as a sign of "old money"). This is why Luca's adjustment appeared intentional to me, especially considering his attention to details in outfits (his later comments on tommy's suits) and taste of attire. Certainly very often, people would play with their accessories to relieve stress, but in these cases they do so almost instinctively and sub-consciously (like Prince of Charles), while Luca seemed, to me personally, to do so intentionally. 4. Tommy's reply "You just came from Paris eh?": I actually think this was an effective verbal counterattack rather than a distraction because Luca just said "it's good of you to see me" - Luca was trying to establish that Tommy is inferior to him in this power dynamic by implying Tommy was the one trying to see him, while Tommy, by using this rhetoric question, emphasized in return that "it was you, Luca, who tried to see me, so you are in a passive position here, not me". This being said, it was an awesome and thought-provoking video and I really learned a ton from it along with others. Thanks a lot for all the effort you put in and looking forward to your upcoming videos!
