Bread, butter and sugar was my go to at convention. Thanks for what you guys are doing. You have already been a great help to my wife and I in our new journey. We can raise our boys to know the true Christ.

I cooked scrambled eggs for 22 years at Devon convention, and also served the evening coco. After I married, my wife and I added chips, salsa, and nacho cheese to the evening spread… along with all the leftover lunch and supper food that is usually put out.

Really enjoy these videos each week. Very helpful and encouraging.

Hi, another excellent video! Just a question ... I heard that William Irvine was a FreeMason ... so I googled it and it does appear he was. With that in mind .... were any of the senior workers FreeMasons?

Types and shadows! We had a worker that spoke of them all the time. We want to be a type and shadow of Jesus, is what he said.

"Elder brother" comes from Romans 8:29 "For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." I should clarify: I believe this to be a mistaken understanding that has grown legs due to anti-intellectualism.

This has been helpful for me. There are different uses of firstborn in the Bible. One is the literal first created or first born and one is for supremacy or preeminence. For example “Also I will make him my firstborn, Higher than the kings of the earth.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭89‬:‭27‬ ‭KJV‬‬ This is God talking about making David his firstborn. But we know David was actually the youngest of 8 brothers and he was also not the first king of Israel (he was second behind Saul) Same kind of thing with only begotten or (monogenes - unique one of a kind) For example “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Isaac was not Abraham’s first son. His first son was Ishmael. Ishmael was first born but it was with Sara’s handmaiden Hagar so he did not fall under the covenant God made with Abraham and Sara to make their seed many nations. Meaning the one of a kind first begotten wouldn’t be the literal first son Ishmael but would be the second born son Isaac but firstborn and only begotten in the sense of preeminence or supremacy and being one of a kind because he would fulfill the covenant.

Excellent point! So unless there is another person you can think of who was conceived of a human and through the power of the Holy Spirit then in Jesus case he would be the only begotten (monogenes) unique and only one of his kind. We also know Jesus is the firstborn but we have to determine whether that means first created or if it’s talking about preeminence or supremacy as in David’s case In this verse below we see Jesus created all things so you can’t be a created being who creates all things it would have to say all other things. So if he is not created it must be using firstborn as preeminent “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬, ‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
