Cameron, you are the perfect model for what a " GREAT GUIDE " should be. Your fishing knowledge is obvious, but the PATIENT you display at 6:09 is why customers will continue to return again, and again. By the way, it was cute to hear the guy say sorry for losing the fish at the net. Been there myself too many times not to have empathy. Nice video.

I 100% agree with Paul... Super patient and obviously they were newbies and basically were losing fish. I'm going to book my mom and gf just from that episode because of how great your worked with them!

you are a very patient man , it is painful watching people who do not have any clue about fishing and the only way to learn how to handle a pole is to catch fish....

Seeing the kid at minute 5 holding the rod behind the reel is priceless!! How do you manage to stay calm with such inexperienced anglers ? It is amazing how difficult something so simple is for some people.

No one coached that kid on fighting a fish ? What a shame . Pump and reel pump and reel when he runs, let him run. Thats all someone would have had to say . The kid didn't even know to take it out of the holder on the first one and no one was paying attention . And it looked like a chinese fire drill when two fish were hooked. The guide knows how to get them obviously, im not that good , but too much chaos and yelling . Veteran guides get excited , but know how to keep their cool. Just sayin...

  • @imnotimportant

You can't pump and reel with barbless hooks and salmon. When you pump up, he will turn his head and shoot like a rocket and get off every time. Rod steady, keep reeling (against the drag even) and let the rod and reel do the work. I'm sure that's what he told the kid, but the kid was just so excited. You can tell clients exactly what to do but then when that adrenaline kicks in when a big fish hits, it makes it all go right out the window. It's easy to tell someone what to do, but if they have never held a fishing rod before it can be quite a lot to take in.. especially on the first fish of the day

the only reason guides seem like that is because they are in charge of everyone in their boat being as successful as possible. it only takes a tenth of a second to loose a fish from a mistake like too early or late on a hook set or not keeping good tension bringing in a fish . a lot of people on these trips have little to zero experience and that is why they are out with a guide. they may seem impatient but its only because they are trying to put the clients on fish, that's what they are paying for. hands off guides are really charging you for the boat ride, bait and gear rental, that's not a good quality for guide service

  • @Bearkiller711

They also sacrifice the experience of the entire trip to make sure their boat looks good for numbers. If it takes the fun out of it what's the point

Frigging Barb less hooks are the most stupid thing ever..... you pay enough for a damn license... and barb less hooks just make it impossible to keep a fish on most of the time!! Why buy a fishing license if you can never bring one in to take home!! WTF!!
