I’m strange because I never fancied listening to that song because of the title. Strange I know but listened today and the song writing is incredible. He has so many other good ones.

John Prine wrote most of his songs when he was just 22 !!!!!!!!love him so much, all his songs are fantastic!!

John Prine is one of the greatest songwriters ever. It's not evident from this one, but there's a lot of humor in many of his songs. Check out "The Accident", "Spanish Pipedream", "Summer's End", "In Spite of Ourselves (with Iris Dement)", "Angel from Montgomery", "Hello In There", "All the Best", and all the others, too! haha.

Great reaction! I've been listening to JP for most of my life, now 56. Went to my first Prine concert 5 or 6 years ago because my friend bought me a ticket. Thanks Juice! I hope I never forget the image of John dancing around his guitar at the end of the show. What an inspiration!

John was loved by his peers including Dylan President of Ireland paid a great tribute to him in a speech on his passing. John had a lot of health issues and died of Covid He was very much aware of his mortality and wrote great song When I Get to Heaven As already noted by another commenter Angel of Montgomery is one of his best , covered beautifully by Bonnie Raitt and also by Susan Tedeschi

My mom used to play his album where he sitting on a hay bale and I would dance around the living room to then. Had no idea what he was talking about but I thought some of then were funny as a kid. As an adult I listened to it again and I got the deep meaning of his lyrics. He is my favorite Americana/folk singer song writers. Far from Me, Flashback Blues, Illegal Smile, Flag Decal some of my favorites.
