LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war ----- lyrics: LOVEBITES music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

I’m a Midwesterner too and i was wary of giving Japanese bands a try. That was a few years ago. Now they have reached the top of my preferences… they spoil you. You will notice how the members of all the bands are just so technically proficient and they play as a band , they don’t have one dominant member that takes the spotlight all the time.. like we see here too often. Bandmaid has become my favorite band and it’s because of their songwriting. They don’t rely on fast guitar solos or riffs to carry them. They just write good, hooky songs with a lot of detail layered in that you don’t hear much. Lovebites is amazing too and they are a force. Enjoy your journey.

Enjoyable reaction to LOVEBITES, thanks! Midori is the "SUPERSTAR" on the left with the big smile and masterful techniques, who did not begin guitar until age 20 (!) but had played piano since age 2 and organ from age 8, switched from pharmacy college to Musicians Institute after hearing Metal and being drawn to the challenge. All are multi-instrumentalists, with Miyako (right) having piano as her 'first instrument' and self-taught guitar from age 18. The majority of their songs are fast, in a variety of ways, many with chord-changes & Asami's vocals at an almost 'ballad' pace, yet the tremolo-picked palm-muted arpeggiated chords and Haruna's phenomenal double-kicks sync'd with Miho's bass convey a unique 'style' of Metal. For a song from this same show, unique in tempo, Heavy-Rock style and lyrical theme, written by Midori (just uploaded, so few views) I suggest "Dancing With The Devil" kzread.info/dash/bejne/n357ya5_hLOzdZs.html which includes [cc] lyrics. The differences between their songs is impressive, quite eclectic but always a Metal-edge, even in their one 'ballad' where Haruna resists her inclination for hyper-dbl-kick with precision, somehow never becoming obtrusive or out-of-place. btw, the 'mix' in the music audio of your video is peculiar, with Asami's vocal being significantly more 'buried'. No idea what would cause that. I'll be interested to discover if it is like that in your next LOVEBITES reaction.

Lovebites music is so hard and heavy you can't help bu head bang along to it. This is a great band that is quickly on the rise. They've been together for just over 5 years and within 2 years they were playing the largest festivals in Europe and the UK, like Wacken, Bloodstock, Download, and Grasspop. They won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band.

It is true they play a lot of power metal songs, but they aren't only a power metal band. They also have six or so heavy thrash metal songs that sound like something Slayer or Metallica would play. They also have several slower songs, ballads, that include use of the piano and acoustic guitar where Asami's vocals R&B style vocals really shine, and they also do rock and hard rock songs. Lately they've been including symphonic elements too and have some symphonic metal songs.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 We say "Japan is a country obsessed by Rock Music". I believe the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Talking about hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan thereafter : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Iron Maiden (1981) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here. Uh oh, we also say "Japan is a country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

You asked about "air guitar". I'm a rock guitarist. In my youth, my old drummer and I would get to together and listen to the latest metal records (this was the '80s). He'd play air guitar while I'd play air drums. Interesting.

Miyako, the brunette guitarist, usually uses a Peavey 6505+ with an Orange cabinet. She's playing a Dean USA Icon in this video, but she often uses a Dean Switchblade ML or, more recently, her Dean signature V. She plays other guitars during this show including a Gibson Les Paul, but I'm not going to run down every instrument she's ever touched. I'm not here to be Pedantic Gear Man. Miyako started playing guitar at the age of 18, though she's been playing piano since she was 3. She recently got married and had her first child. Midori, the blonde guitarist, is playing an ESP E-II Horizon FR. She plays through a combination of Marshall cabs and a Kemper Power Rack. Midori can play piano and organ, but I've only seen her do it in rare behind the scenes stuff. She started playing guitar when she turned 20. Miho, the bass guitarist, left the band in August of 2021 for unknown reasons. She has yet to be replaced. I've never seen her use a pick or play anything other than an ESP Amaze bass guitar. The pickguard the dots are it are custom-made for her. She uses Darkglass Harmonics amps and cabs. Haruna, the drummer, plays Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals. She has a few "star cymbals" on her kit that are just there for decoration. She can reach out and spin them with her sticks. I don't know if she's ever said why she has them, but she has during her time in LOVEBITES and in her previous band, Destrose, of which Miho was also a member. Haruna also makes miniature food out of clay and is quite good at it. Asami, the vocalist, trained in classical ballet from the age of two. She lived in America for a little while studying other forms of dance, but when she went back to Japan, she started singing R&B and souls and doing backup vocals for a couple of rock bands. She wanted to do something different, so she put out a demo of her singing Halestorm's "Love Bites (So Do I)". That demo found its way to Miho, the five ladies got together, and they formed a band and named it after that Halestorm song. The best advice I can give you about LOVEBITES and Japanese rock/metal in general is to not be so concerned with genre labels. Yeah, this song is power metal, sure, but "Raise Some Hell," "Empty Daydream," and "Don't Bite the Dust" are all hard rock, "Hammer of Wrath" and "Break the Wall" are more thrash, etc. Plus, bands like Wagakki Band and Babymetal are damn near their own genres. Rather than sit and try to figure out which box each BAND-MAID or Nemophila song fits into, I would much rather let the music wash over me so I can enjoy it. As far as the language thing goes, I can understand wanting to know what the singer is singing, but to me it's about the quality of the music. If I can _feel_ the song in my soul without understanding it, then damn, the artist is doing a damn good job. If I let the language barrier affect me, I'd be losing out on great bands like Unlucky Morpheus, BAND-MAID, and Ningen Isu and singers like Diana Ankudinova, Sohyang, and Lara Fabian. Hell, I've beeen casually listening to Rammstein since I was a teenager.

I think is important to note that japanese music scene is highly diverse as the U.S. music scene, there's so many styles, genres, musicians, bands and artists from different time periods that it's just a matter or search, listen and discover what fill your tastes in music. For some reason, I don't know if it's because the Babymetal effect, but a lot of people think that japanese music scene is always like that, but definitely not. Obviously they put some of their idiosincracy into their music, like every country puts their idiosincracy in their arts. Some people doesn't like japanese music for that, but I think that's the appeal, that it has it's own flavour although it can be reliable to the development or popular music of the rest of the world. I always point this example, but it's the same if you listen to some brit pop bands from the 90's, like Blur, Oasis or Supergrass, all of them are different, but they have a very distinguishable british flavour. When you get used to those japanese cultural aspects and the language ceases to be a barrier, you'll discover really awesome music and even you'll start to think why some bands aren't bigger enough. Maybe the next band you could check out is Nemophila, try the song "Dissension". The other one is Hanabie, they have that kind of "cutesy" thing you were worried about, but I'm sure they will surprise you. Try the song "We Love Sweets". And don't forget to try BAND-MAID with vocals, Saiki is a really good singer and is part of the magic of the band, maybe you can go with songs like "Warning!" or "Manners". Cheers dude!

It's great that you are exploring the J-rock scene. If you dive in, you may never come back. You've hit the best rock band in the world right now (Band-maid), the best "whatever you call that" (Babymetal)... and now, welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” kzread.info/dash/bejne/a22u1apvmarFZsY.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXyiral-mpSpfcY.html, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzread.info/dash/bejne/paBkj7dmqc6wc7g.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzread.info/dash/bejne/noycwdeGfZyamrg.html. Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXac1tOgmburcZc.html; but if it is taken down, you can watch two clips back to back: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mnh2zMuKeZzJqcY.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3mnp7mCg8aegZM.html I promise, it’s worth it. For a thrasher with heavy Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzread.info/dash/bejne/eWRmk8OJYsTVZrw.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y62i0Lp9lqjUnrw.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three of the most spectacular: "When Destinies Align" kzread.info/dash/bejne/moB6x86CaZa8m7A.html "Glory to the World" kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6t-1qZriKi-eJc.html "Winds of Transylvania" kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqd5lrebj7PQmJs.html. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Great reaction. Japanese music can be a bit hard to get into, because a lot of it is a bit idiosyncratic. Though that's also part of the appeal at the same time. And the musicianship tends to be really high. But don't ever force yourself into liking something. Seeing that you are into metalcore/harsh vocals I would recommend checking out Hanabie - We Love Sweets and Dexcore - Self-Hatred. They are both great. And I think that at least most Dexcore songs are in English. Now what's up with all the female bands? Female rock and metal bands do have a bit of a tradition in Japan, but no one really knows why so many Japanese women suddenly decided to play harder music over the last decade or so. That's when it truly exploded. It is still somewhat of a bubble though, because most bands in Japan still mainly consist of male members. Not that it really matters to me. I just like what I like. But it's cool to see more diversity in music. Also there are many sides to Lovebites. I already recommended you A Frozen Serenade. That's a stunner. For something heavier you should listen to Break the Wall or Set the World on Fire. Want a nice ballad? Empty Daydream or Edge of the World. Want to hear them sound like Iron Maiden? Listen to The Crusade. Just avoid the so-called KZread version, as it is shortened. How about something very uplifting? Glory to the World or Rising. These ladies are fantastic musicians and only ever getting better. There is a lot to explore.

In the early 1980s a young all female band called Show-Ya hit the music scene with a bang, kicking the invisible door separating women artists from heavier music. They started musical dreams for a lot of Japanese girls. Those who didn't get far then influenced and supported their daughters when they liked it. It became a movement and grew. Show-Ya was named with a purpose and accomplished it. They are still around and put on an all-woman festival every year, although most recently it had to be livestreamed. Look up Destrose, Disqualia, Fate Gear, Aldious. All these started more like 20 years ago. Band-Maid is 9 years old, and of course there are many just now organizing, but the trail was blazed 40 years ago and the trickle of Japanese women in heavy music has been building to a torrent ever since. It is more visible now because of platforms like this.

Lovebites is fire, they don't have one single bad song. Now, as a very ecletic person, and a musician who likes good music - it doesn't matter the genre -, everytime I watch rock/metal videos and read some comments, also hearing some of the things you said, I can just hope the fans one day understand that this behavior of superiority is what keeps new people away of wanting to dive into the scene. "My taste is superior, every other style is bullshit". You talk about other genres in a very pejorative way. When I was younger I used to listen to only rock, metal, mainly post hardcore, and you would hear me saying bad things about other music all the time, until I started to study music, and I felt very ashamed about my closed way of thinking. Of course we have personal favorite genres and styles, but it doesn't mean others are bad. When I started to study music production, I was fascinated by how each genre is constructed and developed. And I hope you understand that things like "women usually listen to Taylor Swift and bullshit like that" are very problematic. Nothing wrong about listening to pop, first of all. But really, around the 60's, rock fans were mostly females, but women were pushed away more and more through the years. We got very sexualized, and even now female musicians in the scene get more attention for being attractive than because of their musicianship. When a woman talks about liking rock music, it's always the "omg she's different", when it's actually very normal and should be treated like that, or she's called fake. Usually you can see men making fun when they see an all-female metal band (before they start playing, of course), being underestimated is a daily thing, and a lot of girls give up. When you say it's nice to see a woman interested in playing the bass... Well, actually there are a lot of women interested in learning these kind of instruments, but they're not encouraged to learn them and the rock community doesn't help, so they tend to go to classical instruments or to genres that are more receptive. It's important to understand that. Anyway, there's nothing wrong to listening to other music, being pop, cutsy or kpop (that actually is not a genre, it's the industry of Korean popular music, it involves a lot of different genres, including some awesome Korean rock bands like The Rose, Day6 and N.Flying). Also, music is the universal language, it doesn't need to be in English, it's great that musicians can spread their culture and language through music.

I don't know what the idea is behind Lovebite's choice to go all english.. maybe it was a choice to put a foot forwards and focus on appeal to the broad market, because honestly if they'd just wanted to stick with native it would've been fine. A bit like Band Maid they're one of those bands who have instant appeal and a solid fan base who won't hesitate to recommend them, but outside that base they're rarely known and random encounters are few and far between.

Love the steam punk background. I gave up playing air guitar a while ago. Strings were either out of tune or kept breaking. Can't help but play air guitar when the music is this good. Agree with you about a lot of pop music in US on top 40. I miss the days when there was real country, blue grass, jazz, rock, metal and they were all unique to each other and the songs were really well written. Japan J-Pop is hit and miss because some is real good, while some sounds too juvenile. A lot is also karaoke where they perform live with music piped in. J-Rock and J-Metal serious music. Long ago there were bands like Loudness, Anthem, X-Japan, Versailles, and Galneryus that were the best of Japanese metal. Then comes this new wave of Japanese heavy metal and there are bands like Mary's Blood, Aldious, Destrose, Lovebites, Band-Maid, Fate Gear (they are steam punk, hint hint), Bridear, and Nemophila. Mixed male and female bands are excellent, too like Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. They are real bands that play their instruments and most write most of their own songs. It is fun when they do a cover. As far as listening to all of these bands, only Lovebites sings their songs in English. I get around this because James Brown sang in English but no one ever understood what he was singing. I listen to the quality if the voice. Just think you still have Nemophila, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Cyntia, Hagane, and more. In Japan talent is recognized early and encouraged. Training/education in the arts is well supported, with music lessons as early as 3 yo. There are many schools for vocal and dance. The Tokyo School of Music is to train/educate musicians for the Japanese music industry. Japan is the #2 music market in the world and #2 market for Kpop, and they have Jpop. There are many clubs and small venues for bands to perform in and some even have full equipment so the band only has to bring their instruments.

I'm thrilled someone is keeping rock and metal alive. Our music in america today sucks to no end. I love the music of Lovebites but the vocals just hasn't captured my ear. Not saying she's not good. You mentioned Taylor S. There's a Chinese gal goes by the stage name of G.E.M. and critics call her the Asian Taylor swift. But that's such an insult to GEM, TS couldn't hold ten candles to her. GEM writes her own music and lyrics and can actually sing without any aid.

Something is strange with the mix of the musik video here, the vocals are way to low and the whole instruments way to loud, especially maybe the rythm part. Have seen dozens of reactions to this song, but it never sounded like this. On the other hand Midori has the right volume here, normally she is always the one who is to low.

THERE ARE LOTS OF WAY TOO POP AND BUBBLE GUM FRIVOLOUS JAPANESE BANDS THAT METAL HEADS WILL WANT TO AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. STICK WITH THE RECOMMENDED JMETAL/JROCK BANDS. (ABOUT 50 GREAT BANDS IN MY OPINION) DON'T LET THE SHOCKING VISUAL KEI OF X JAPAN THROW YOU; THEY ARE A GREAT BAND. ONCE YOU ARE A BIG JMETAL FAN YOU WILL LISTEN TO THE JAPANESE LYRICS AS AN INSTRUMENT, THEN YOU WILL WANT TO READ THE LYRICS IN ENGLISH TO GET FULL APPRECIATION. SOME FANS DON'T EVEN WORRY ABOUT THE TRANSLATIONS BUT I FIND TYPICAL JLYRICS TO BE EXTREMELY GOOD.

I went to babymetal tokyo dome 2days 2016 on second day, it was a movie, not a live show, and it was neither good nor bad. I listened maids for 2 minutes and 20 seconds. for the first time, I saw a band with two guitarists and only one could solo. midori (blonde) is not the only superstar, in fact everyone is superstar.

@@Killermcknight bone red spends every known moment when he is not bigging up Lovebites criticizing BAND-MAID and Babymetal.....he just radiates hate to them both for some reason. All 3 bands are excellent in their own way, but if you like one that is fine so long as you don't spend all your time with hate comments towards the others....they are all good enough to earn respect from people who actually listen. Why go to a Babymetal concert if you don't like them....and no it wasn't a movie....it was live, though bone red might not know enough about music to realise that....especially as he spent a whole 2 minutes listening to BAND-MAID before dismissing them. Trust me there are many better bands than baby metal and band maid, no dance routine crap for I just go to South Korea for Kpop, no stupid outfits of maids and their poppy garbage. Lovebites all the way along with Asterism, Mardelas, Bridear, Aldious. America does not have any good singers, I live in this country and I stopped listening to American crapy singers in 2010 and became a huge fan of many Asian singers instead. Lol....at least back up your hate for anything not Lovebites with some credible info. There are also many better bands than LB too....though probably not in your eyes. I like Lovebites (though not keen on the singer) and their guitarists are exceptional.....but I like BAND-MAID and Babymetal far more. People who know about music don't dismiss bands like you do, they respect them even if it isn't their genre. Without Babymetal, most Japanese music might still be unknown, but both them and BAND-MAID are way, way more versatile than your favourite band.....and if you listened to more than one group you would know that. Anybody that associates Babymetal with Kpop....and BAND-MAID with poppy garbage quite clearly has no idea whatsoever they are talking about ;)

@@w.martin747 Different people have different opinions.I listened to BAND-MAID a lot, I liked BAND-MAID, I still like them, I respect this band... But, since I discovered LOVEBITES, I started listening to BAND-MAID less and less. Lately (during 2022) I hardly listen to BAND-MAID. I'm not interested in listening to them. 🤗Although I continue to respect BAND-MAID. They are good musicians, but LOVEBITES will be stronger technically and musically. I spent a lot of time trying to accustom myself to BABYMETAL . Did not work out. For me, they remained a dance group of 3 young ladies. I treat them well, but I can't listen to them. And if it weren't for KAMI BAND, who are really great musicians, it would be impossible to talk about BABYMETAL at all. These ladies from metal have only the word METAL ( in the name of the band ).😊 You claim to claim that BAND-MAID and BABYMETAL "are way, way more versatile" than LOVEBITES.... You made me laugh.😂 The music of LOVEBITES is both more complex and versatile than BAND-MAID and BABYMETAL . But in order to understand this, you need to listen well and a lot to LOVEBITES. This is my subjective opinion against your subjective opinion.😊 "Without BABYMETAL ,most Japanese music might still be unknown" To whom ? To you?? 🤔 Perhaps for you it would remain unknown. Have you heard anything about Japanese hard and metal bands like BOW WOW, LOUDNESS , ANTHEM, X JAPAN, UNITED, Mari Hamada, SHOW-YA, VERSAILLES ? The lovely ladies from BABYMETAL had not yet been born, and these bands were already known in America and Europe ! For example, BOW WOW toured with AEROSMITH and KISS in 1977. LOUDNESS toured the US and Europe with MöTLEY CRüE and SAXON in the 80s . Several LOUDNESS albums have charted on the US Billboard charts ! The album "Disillusion" (1984) was listed in 2005 in "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time "!😊 Etc. etc. Many more examples could be given, but I think this is enough. BABYMETAL didn't open up Japanese music to the West. Japanese rock, metal became known to the West thanks to other Japanese bands and musicians long before BABYMETAL. And it's a fact ! Nothing personal. 🤗Good luck in the New Year 🎄!

@@GrayFox14 'Different people have different opinions' True. You make a few valid points about Japanese bands while completely missing the point and you make assumptions about me without any justification. First of all I am glad I made you laugh, because LOVEBITES are not close to the versatility of BAND-MAID or Baby-Metal....that is fact whether you like it or not. Next I need to listen and listen well to your fav band. I HAVE!! I like lots of genres ( from Metal to Classical music) and have Blu-rays of many Japanese Bands, including LOVEBITES (heavy metal never dies), Unlucky Morpheus, NEMOPHILA, Baby-Metal, BAND-MAID, One ok Rock, Wagakki Band, Scandal and even Perfume. Out of all of those BAND-Maid's music is easily the most complex....possibly followed by NEMOPHILA or Wagakki Band....maybe I should suggest you listen to them....and listen well....but I shouldn't make the same assumptions you have. Given all the hard or metal bands listed above you seem to be mainly a metal fan....but again I shouldn't make assumptions. One Japanese artist I was listening to in the 70's was 'Tomita', though I doubt you have heard of him. I do know of most of the bands you have quoted, while some may have had some critical success, most (apart from Show Ya) are little known to most rock and metal fans of today.....and THAT is my point about Baby-Metal. They arrived during the digital era, so have had far more critical and commercial success because of KZread, Apple, Spotify and the like, with many reactors on KZread spreading the word.....and then those same reactors moving on to other Japanese bands and hence bringing Japanese music to the attention of far more viewers than they would have had otherwise. Granted, Baby-Metal have been around longer, but they have 10 time more views than the entire LOVEBITES KZread channel with just one MV (Gimme Chocolate)! If LOVEBITES are so good, why are they not getting more views? As said in my previous comment I like them and they are insanely skilled....but their music is one dimensional.

@@w.martin747 I listened (and still listen) throughout my life to different music (mainly hard rock, metal, progressive rock, art rock), including classical music (Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart and others). For most of my life, I have preferred mainly British rock bands, although I also like some Scandinavian, Japanese and, less often, American ones (this is in short). But it doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter how many Blu-rays or DVDs you have. I have a DVD of Jimi Hendrix and what does it change in our dialogue? BABYMETAL are popular for the following reasons. Pop music (and BABYMETAL are classified as J-pop and kawaii metal) always has more listeners than metal. It is easier to hear, it attracts more people. The more complex the music, the fewer listeners it has (for example, symphonic music). A competent marketing move by managers and a label, a formula for success: take little charismatic girls (11-13 years old), write songs for them, teach them to sing and dance on stage and add experienced, adult, male musicians to them. Here's a pop band that has become kawaii - metal. This is a new, unusual phenomenon in the music scene. Especially for the Western audience. LOVEBITES definitely has nothing to do with of BAND-MAID and BABYMETAL, because they are much more complex, more varied, more technical and more interesting musically. Maybe this is one of the reasons why I want to listen to BAND-MAID less and less. Inferior to LOVEBITES in all respects. It's even ridiculous to talk about the ability to master musical instruments of young ladies from the pop band BABYMETAL. Do you like BABYMETAL and BAND-MAID? Your right. Love them all you want. To each his own. I have already gone through this stage with BAND-MAID. A good band, but it has become too simple for me. I'm glad that BABYMETAL has so many views and subscribers. Marketers and the label skillfully promote the band on YT. For 8 years, 170 million views of the song "Gimme Chocolate"? Excellent result ! Fami, without marketers, without advertising specialists, without the support of a powerful label, has over 10,3 million views of the "Alain, Alain" cover in 3 years. Schoolgirl Fami posted a self-made video filmed on a simple smartphone in a small room of an apartment when she was 17 years old. And? Who is more efficient? Fami who didn't spend a single yen on her video. Or the huge, powerful, wealthy record label with the BABYMETAL Corporation? Hundreds of employees who took part in the filming, production and promotion of the MV "Gimme Chocolate" (directors, cameramen, lighting, stage workers, costume designers, musicians, makeup artists, sound engineers, engineers, technicians, choreographers, etc. etc.) + big money invested in MV .... and the schoolgirl Fami.😊
