All Lovebites members' are sophisticated, well-educated, insanely talented musicians at the top of their game and their live performances are flawless. You should check out other videos from thier Zepp Diver City, Tokyo 2020 concert, I recommend 'Swan Song with Chopin's Revolutionary Etude', 'Edge of the World', 'Rising' and 'Signs of Deliverence' for starters. No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly as Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass and bad ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.

I can remember the tingling in my spine and the goosebumps I felt the first time I heard Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock, Chuck Berry's Mabelline & Presley's Heartbreak Hotel in the 1950s, the Beatles 'Love Me Do', The Rolling Stones, The Who, Black Sabbath in the 1960s etc. and when I first heard Lovbites ‘Shadowmaker' in the fall of 2017 I felt exactly the same sensations and felt that they were special and would go on to great things. I play the guitar and I love the fact that M&M can blast most male players off the planet.

Hello Erik, you forgot one thing, for every cup of coffee at least two cigarettes, or one joints, whichever you like. About their music? Dragonforce can go to retire. This girls or women, I mean all of them are masters of their craft. The drummer hits like a machine gun, the solo guitar is as good as Herman Li ,and the bass? Com on man, the bass guitarist for Ten Years after used to say after every performance to his wife or girlfriend, ,, honey I can’t touch you at least two weeks with my hands ,, can you imagine her fingertips after just one song? The biggest and best surprise for my day!

That whole show is unbelievable, and it had like a million songs it was super long, and they didn't even flinch by the time of the epic finale with We The United. Edge of the World comes right before and is an amazing and complex song with so much to dissect, and it gives me goosebumps every time.

Hey, I'm just here for the ride haha

I couldn't tell from the conversation so I just have to point out: Miyako (guitarist on stage right) dark hair, serious expression; and Midori (guitarist on stage left) blond ponytail, NOT camera shy... work the shredding 1 Miyako, 2 Midori, then blended 3 Both synchronized (as best I can tell). And they do this a LOT, not just this particular song. Recommendation: Swan Song with Chopin Etude' lead in. Miyako kills on the piano too! Finally, I must mention the rest of the Band: Miho (Bass) and Haruna (Drums) co-founders, Miho is the defacto leader of the band, from what I've read. Haruna, she is the tiniest of the 5, she has picked up the nick name "Energizer Bunny", at least from me. She gets in triple kicks on the bass drums, and considering how long some of their stuff is, she must run 10 miles or more at every show. And I bet she could out kick an Ostrich. Finally, on vocals; the beautiful and classy Asami. She trained in the USA for Ballet, and you can see some of that in how she floats about the stage. All in all, one of the finest bands I've heard/watched in my 63 years. Update: This is a bit of old news; but, Miho has decided to leave the band. She will be sorely missed. And I hope they find a suitable bassist to replace her and keep performing.

In 2018 I heard these incredibly talented and brilliantly playing musicians from Japan for the first time at the rock festival in Wacken/Germany - we were completely blown away, what a quality, what a timing. My buddy and guitarist of a well-known local rock band didn't want to play the guitar anymore after the concert because he considered himself unworthy and bad - luckily he got over the shock! What Midori and Miyako conjure up out of their guitars really seems partly out of this world, Miho's bass playing was unbelievably good (back then, unfortunately she left the band later), Asami's voice connected the music perfectly with the lyrics and did a good job, what that Involving the listeners, who were - in part - overwhelmed by the speed of their live playing. For me personally, Haruna's star rose on this brutally hot summer afternoon. The absolutely fantastic drummer from Lovebites (okay, I love drumming) - what timing, what quality and endurance!

Love Bites is great. You might consider watching Glory To The World which is a real attitude changer. There are also a number of other all female rock bands. Might I suggest Band Maid also, try Domination live.

Still circling the rabbit hole but not quite leaping in - Aldious and Mary's Blood are the OGs of this genre (in this era) and today's new and fresh names are Nemophila and Hanabie - there are a lot in between but the reaction for the most fun is likely Hanabie "We Love Sweets" with the most state of the art Nemophila with Dissension live at Naon Yaon. Also, do not forget Band-Maid - Domination Live - Band-Maid in themselves can be a rabbit hole with no escape. ;)

as much what we had in the 80's and 90's heart, vixen, joan jett, lita ford, they are great but this band they are on the other side of the spectrum, thrash, speed, heavy metal...head banging actions...they are great musicians...

Welcome to the WolfPack! The ladies wear white for a reason: so they can be seen! Haruna (the drummer) is only 4ft 9inches, while Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is the tallest at 5ft. 2 inches! If they wore black or something dark like other bands, they’d be swallowed by the stage and gear on stage, so they wear white to be seen. Plus, they are going against the norm for metal, which everyone assumes must be black or trashy or so. They are against the norm for metal in Japan, so their statement is that they can be metal while liking to carry a Louis Vuitton purse. LoveBites can rival all of the other bands, plus do it in heels. The band: Asami (the singer) is actually a R’n’B singer, but as you can tell with her voice, it’s powerful enough to rival Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden… which fits the band perfectly because they are influenced by 80s power metal. The guitarists. Midori (Purple ESP guitar, Blond ponytail) is the showman as you can tell. Miyako (the other guitarist) is the Ice Princess. Very shy, and doesn’t physically show much emotion, because she lets all of that out through her feel when playing. She’s also one of the major songwriters and a concert pianist. You’ll see that later with Revolution Etude/Swan Song. Miho (the bassist) is the mama bear. She’s the band’s leader, as she started the band with Haruna (the pocket nuke drummer). Their songs: what is great about them is that compared to BabyMetal or Band-Maid, where most of the girls have rather small voices and sing in Japanese, LoveBites’ songs are all in English, but Asami’s voice has a very thick accent. You're right about that "old school" vibe. that is also on purpose as they get their main influences and sound from old school power/British Heavy Metal bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and the like. Looks like not only are you into gaming, but anime as well. I'd suggest reacting to their song "Winds of Transylvania", which is the theme for the anime VladLove. You'll get a kick out of that! Then head back to their live shows, but AVOID ALL VIDEOS YOU SEE FROM BLOODSTOCK! The sound engineer at their show did a horrible job mixing their show (not the band's fault), so the sound from it is awful.

my top 3 - Nemophila......Lovebites.......Band Maid. As much as I love Miyako I have to confess that the insane musicianship and chemistry in Band Maid is unbeatable. As for male groups - LOADS...but I love Versailles (now Jupiter), then Galneryus....both os those having superb guitarists.

A venue that's hosted many great gigs and is sadly apparently closing down in the relatively near future.. :( On the flip side here though, glad you enjoyed it and I recommend digging into their work. Indeed the whole concert is fabulous. Another couple of companion bands in the rock genre that I would recommend, and who have been making waves alongside these ladies are BAND MAID and NEMOPHILA.

You should probably check out either Edge of then world, dancig with devil or Thunder Vengence, The ladies are the real deal along with Band Maid, lovebites are quite posibbly the best bands i've ever heard
