The guy in the video represents humanity struggling with the recent troubles and the song is intended to encourage us to lift ourselves through "learning to love yourself, it is the greatest love of all" to bring us all to a healthier place on Earth. Miyako, Dean "V" guitarist, is also the keyboardist. Blond guitarist Midori wrote this music with friend-of-LOVEBITES Mao. Asami wrote the lyrics to suit Midori's message. Part of the chorus lyrics are same as "The Greatest Love Of All" written in 1977 by Linda Creed while struggling with cancer, recorded by George Benson, later 'covered' by Whitney Houston in 1985, a year before Linda Creed's death at age 37. LOVEBITES consistent theme is to face life's challenges through self-empowerment, perseverance, integrity, dignity and unity in love.

The guy is a reincarnated Jesus, the stigmata give it away. He really doesn't seem to have much to do with the song. The song was inspired by gospel, which the blonde guitarist, Midori, has an interest in. Midori and Mao wrote the song. Mao was the keyboardist of Lightbringer, a symphonic metal band, that Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus) was the lead vocalist for. They have several songs co-written with Mao. They were looking to make an uplifting song like those sung in black churches. The venue has been used by other Japanese bands for MVs.

There is one other Metal 'cover' LOVEBITES has released, audio only, live. Electric Pentagram option of 2 CD set "Limited Edition B CD: Invitation to the Theater - Live in Tokyo 2019 Disc 2" includes a 'cover' of their namesake, the Halestorm song "Love Bites (So Do I!)" and live recordings of "Mastermind 01" and "The Final Collision". These disks are still available through Booth/Buyee internationally from Japan, as also is "Limited Edition A DVD: Crusaders Standing at Wacken - Live in Germany 2018". I had already acquired Electric Pentagram CD when becoming aware of these resulting (soon) in now having 3 copies of Electric Pentagram! (these Limited Editions are in the mail now). The "Invitation..." also lists "Keyboard solo" on disk 1 which could be Miyako's 'cover' of Chopin or some other piece, possibly written by her, possibly another classical composer. I won't know until they get here, but Chopin's Revolutionary Etude is technically a 'cover' so I specify "Metal cover" for Eagle Fly Free and Love Bites (So Do I!). &:-)

Miyako the one on the dean also plays Piano. she was a child prodigy learning Piano at age 3 she didn't pick up a Guitar till she was 19 she's about 29 now. So guitar isn't even her 1st Instrument.

Miyako is the only one who has openly disclosed her age. She turned 31 on April 5th (born 1990). Also of interest, Midori began piano at 2, organ about 8, and didn't begin guitar until 20, had studied to be a pharmacist before guitar took her to Metal! Haruna writes music using a keyboard and we have seen Asami play piano too (We The United in "Five of a Kind"). I do not know about Miho, if she plays piano, but she does play guitar and has a drum-kit in her home. As a primary composer of songs, she may be a pianist also.

Any song by Lovebites is gonna be good. They are ridiculously underrated. The quality of their music is up there with the best. They are also great live. Their live performances of Raise Some Hell and Break The Wall are my favorites. But they have so many good songs that you can’t go wrong with any recommendation. And yes their hotness doesn’t hurt. I have two biases in the band that I can’t decide on…Miyako the hot guitarist with dark hair and Miho the bass player.

Great review. When you feel that the song sounds like some other song, remember the main composer Miyako the dirk haired guitarist has classic background, and the vocalist Asami who is also a composer used to sing gospel. Therefor some other band's may got the same influence from similar source. "Some other band" is not the mother but a sister could be. Have a good one.

Winds of Transylvannia, great song, an anime intro. Midoris use of Floyd rose tremolo bar, with squeals, bombs is incredible. Scream for me, epic guitar solos. Swan song, Miyako starts on piano, playing Chopin, into her own composition, then too incredible guitar work. Edge of the world, epic song. Holy war. Miyako does piano, keyboard backing tracks. Lovebites, Band Maid and Nemophila just incredible. Don't know if you reacted to Nemophila yet, try song Raitei.

"This one entente of hot awesomeness." Lovebites, summed up in six words. Unfortunately in the music business in general, talent has nothing to do with success. Due to Covid, there are various bands who were on the edge of international success with promotional tours booked or planned who had to cancel. Lovebites being a prime example. They have won awards, toured with Dragonforce and had live shows released on DVD/Blu-ray. Just when they could of toured as a headline act in many countries it all goes down the drain.

Thursday I wore the "Awakening From Abyss" shirt doing payday errands. Numerous people asked about my shirt. I described the seeming-contradictions of women-in-white playing heavy-metal, Japanese but singing in English, Metal music with uplifting encouraging lyrics. The intrigue increased with each seemingly incongruous juxtaposition resulting in several pulling out their phones and finding LOVEBITES on KZread right away and others even writing down 'LOVEBITES' to find when home. Friday I wore "Glory, Glory to the World" shirt with same results in a different town with lots of tourists, leading to many conversations and people finding them on their phones for later watch/listen. I live in a small (1000 population) coastal town and by the time touring starts again I predict we could host a LOVEBITES concert with people coming from far and wide, but may sell-out tickets to locals! The universal consensus is that humanity NEEDS uplifting and encouraging music, now more than ever. Women like the idea of other women playing powerful music typically associated with men, especially honorable sophisticated women who are elegantly dressed. LOVEBITES' women are role-models for all, especially young girls who need an example of realization of mastery-of-their-craft and success. I admit that I am not shy about talking to 'strangers' and comfortable asking, "Have you been listening to LOVEBITES?" While pointing at my shirt. The shirts really break-the-ice. An opportunity to tell their story, just loud enough to be heard by everyone nearby (!) I love it when someone overhears and then approaches me to ask more and clarify the name and spelling, "LOVEBITES, one word, the band, and watch out for all the other off-topic stuff that will come up too..." To which they usually raise eyebrows momentarily, then laugh...

01:51 Speaking of video games, the intro part here that also plays in multiple parts sounds pretty similar to "Red Alert" from Metal Gear 1 on the MSX2 from 1987. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mXmosJaAmd3XddY.html Both sound great though! Quality reaction and analysis as always.

Great reaction another great song from them. I think Orlando Bloom was out of work and looking for an easy gog. They do have a castlevania-like song, WInds of Transylvania, the opening song (eps 2) for a anime called "VLADLOVE" - kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqd5lrebj7PQmJs.html - this one has blood and fire

This is my favorite song by them....LMAO, wait until the next guitar clinic song by this band. That was "INSANE", well yes it was Lovebites the definition of FLAWLESS PERFECTION. So many of their songs are NASTY and I mean that in a good way as well. Winds of Transylvania (Anime Theme) will blow you away with the guitar work, they melt your face and the rest of the band, Miho/bass, Haruna/drums and Asami/vocals just stomps the rest of you into total pulp (kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqd5lrebj7PQmJs.html and if you want some LIVE insanity Holy War yes but you'll really love Scream for Me (kzread.info/dash/bejne/k5erzdKhl920l5s.html) just to decimate what is left of your brains. BTW if you want guitar insanity try 16 y.o. old Hal-Ca and 17 y.o. Miyu on the 7 string bass doing DAWN (kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKmFstiCfq3JcZM.html), forget face melting she melts the entire small club with her playing.

The guitarist Miyako has her own KZread channel OfficialMIYAKO. Some of her videos are in English. You have more subscribers than her. I also want to say that I have some deaf family members and when Japanese people speak English in heavy Japanese accents, it sounds very, very similar to someone that was born deaf speaking English. I just find that interesting. Chinese people don’t have it and Korean people don’t have it.

Afaik it is because of the way english is taught in most japanese schools. They often do not practise talking, so they lack the routine of hearing and forming the words.

OMG - did your perpetual (typical male-brain) "analysis" of this song rudimentary capture the emotional depth of this performance as a whole? Never. You only have a chance by listen to it interrupt-free . . .
