Take it easy, no problem. These women are so insanely talented they can play anything especially LIVE. Here are 2 songs that are slower yet still stunning, Swan Song with Chopin piano intro, Frozen Serenade and also Empty Daydream has a slow melodic start. They are a metal band, while petite women who wear their feminity in gowns and heels, they are the equal of any band. The singer is 4' 10" the drummer is 4' 9", Miyako is the tallest at 5' 2". Live is an experience so go slow but they are one of the best metal bands ever !!!!

So you heard this three hours ago. Nice! Fresh then. You liked it but thought some parts were to hard. So, now is then the question: listen to softer or harder. Getting what you think you want or getting accustomed to more speed and strength. Personally I am 70 years old and have no problems keeping up with Lovebites. There are much harder stuff out there. And you look young and fit, I guess your brains cells can handle a bit more speed metal :) And Lovebites is a good way doing it. They are so positive and melodic. No skulls and growling and dark stuff. BTW - a softer one is "Dancing with the Devil", that is one of my favorites. Its more funky and jazzy. And Asami can show that she really is a RnB singer.

Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Not the typical song to start with LOVEBITES. This is quite basic playing for them. They have many much more spectacular songs in comparison this! And yes, they are a metal band and play different styles in their songs. Maybe try their song „Epilogue“, a beautiful ballad. Or „A frozen serenade“, a very special and beautiful song, with some ballet by Asami the singer in the middle part. The band is around since 2016 and released their first EP and album in 2017. At this point they have 4 albums, some singles and EPs and also 4 official live DVD/Blu-ray releases. They’ve already toured in Europe back in 2018/2019, including the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. Then came Covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After that LOVEBITES came back with new bassist and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. New album with the same name came out in February 2023. LOVEBITES just finished touring in Japan. Earlier this year in march they played their comeback show. This was their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami. There are 4 videos on their YT channel from this show. We the Wolfpack, name of LOVEBITES fans worldwide, are all hoping for a world tour next year … The video of Don’t bite the dust you’ve seen was still with there old bassist Miho and was recorded in March 2021 under strict covid rules. Would it help your ambitions to know that NEITHER of these guitarists ( Midori & Myako ) started playing guitar until they were almost 20 ( so there's hope for you yet ! ) BTW Myako ( the dark haired one is self taught ( and a concert level classically trained pianist ) TBH - this is definitely not one of their faster songs so I'd suggest you try " Epilogue " or " Edge of the World " if you're going to do another ( please do ! ) which might be more in keeping with how you described your taste Enjoy !

this is one of the few songs they do that i consider pure rock - the other being 'raise some hell'. most of their music is power , thrash and heavy metal and some prog with a power ballad thrown in now and then. their catalog will enthrall you and keep you guessing at the same time. best female band to ever exist and you have much to discover from the classiest and most talented ladies in the business. for one of their songs that might suit your taste more - from what you say you like - i would recommend the live performance of 'empty daydream. it will most likely be one that will get you here - i am pointing to my heart !

More laid back, try A Frozen Serenade. It has everything. A guitar solo, an acoustic guitar solo, a ballet dance interlude by the lead vocalist, a piano break down by the brunette guitarist, who happens to be a world class classical pianist, and the composition is nothing short of epic. If you want to hear a 10 out of 10, this is the song for you.

The drumming IS the music (part of it) and thus does not overshadow the music; that's a fundamentally non-metal way to think. I have an idea: try their live video (their latest) of the song "Liar". Yes, the metal comes in with a bang after the intro, but it's a not-too-heavy song all in all, very melodic, and Haruna (the drummer) works some miracles in this song. Pay attention to her, you might even begin to appreciate it.

But console yourself, that's nothing compared to the money that Miyako, the other guitarist, spends on her "rods". Recently she took out a loan for a new Gibson at roughly $9000... fans collected about a thou to help pay for it... You know how Japanese people spend a lot on quality food? Same approach. Only the best.

IIRC, the former suggestion was "The Hammer Of Wrath" (live). Could be wrong though. That song is on the verge of thrash metal. Thus "Don't Bite The Dust", "Shadowmaker", "Rising", maybe even "The Crusade" (Iron Maiden style) is better for you. Maybe "Liar". Biggest suggestions may be the "E" songs "Empty Daydream", "Epilogue", and especially "Edge Of The World". These are more melodic, sometimes slower. Must-sees are "Swan Song" (with Chopin intro) and "A Frozen Serenade". Also look for "Glory To The World", "When Destinies Align" and "Dancing With The Devil" (more conventional)... There's a lot to experience and enjoy on this journey!

Great to see someone "get" Lovebites for the first time. They have brought a lot of people into metal who were not into it before, because they don't just shred, they write gorgeous music. The formalwear with metal/rock had me scratching my head until you mentioned anime. Nice catch. Makes sense now. You always pick up nuances I seem to miss. Still, a tough visual for me to reconcile in my head after years of metal being hard wired into it a particular way.

This particular concert didn't really give the band its real justice. Due to COVID restrictions, the crowd was a bit subdued. Lovebites stage performance was awesome though. There are 4 releases from a show they did in March with their new Bass player, Fami. The show is Knocken at Heaven's Gate (all 4 show their diversity within their music): Hammer of Wrath Nameless Warrior Judgement Day Liar Their latest album, Judgment Day, is at a new level for them. As for the live music: this song is from the 2021 Metal Never Dies The 2020 five of a Kind has the energy from the crowd and band and is great from beginning to end. The guitarist on the left with long black hair (MIYAKO) also has a CD of Piano covers from Metallica, Halloween, Deep Purple, and 2 others. Self-taught since the age of 13, Fami reached the technical level of video at the age of 17, just four years later. She was the winner of the LOVEBITES audition and erased the noise. I'm so grateful that Fami, who was only 20 years old at the time, made the decision to join the group without fear of being compared to or criticized by Miho, the first bassist. As a result of that decision, LOVEBITES fans are having a good time today. And the remaining members of the group have developed their skills and endured well during the hiatus. Please keep up the good work LOVEBITES.

You have a good ear! The guitarists do have different playing styles. Midori (blonde hair) trained originally as a classical guitarist, so she has a more technical playing style, tighter, and faster. Miyako (dark hair), despite the bulk of her musical training being on classical piano, her guitar playing is more inspired by blues rockers like Ritchie Blackmore and Gary Moore, so her playing is more melodic, slower, less technical but more emotional. By the way, not sure if you noticed it, but Miyako was four-months pregnant at the time of this performance. After literally developing on the stage, her baby (who is around two years old now) is practically destined to be a musician!

Watch out dipping toes! Spotify randomly played LOVEBITES for me 9 months ago, and I am now thinking they have joined Led Zeppelin and Van Halen, (my all-time favorite groups for 40 years).

Based on what you said about your musical preferences, I second the suggestions of "Epilogue" (Lovebites' only "pure" ballad), "Edge of The World", "Empty Daydream", "A Frozen Serenade" and "Dancing With the Devil". To this, I'll add "Spellbound", a fun song and the only one in which Miyako doesn't play guitar, but at one point switches from keyboards to keytar. BTW, in my early adolescence, I thought that Heavy Metal was just noise. When I bought Pat Benatar's "Live from Earth" (because of the studio track "Love Is a Battlefield"), I found out that I enjoyed the hard rocking live songs on that album even more. A few months later, I bought Lita Ford's "Dancin' on the Edge" which was even heavier and which I enjoyed even more. Another few months later, I heard Metallica's "Fight Fire With Fire" (probably the fastest and most aggressive song on "Ride the Lightning") on the radio and it was like a musical revelation to me! Since then (thus a few decades ago), Thrash Metal has been my favourite metal subgenre. Doesn't mean the same will happen to you, but musical tastes can change over the years.

TOTALLY agree with you! (btw - GREAT taste you got there). I have a pretty "flexible" ear I'd say. I can enjoy a lot of genres of music. Maybe not hardcore stuff, but definitely rock. I enjoyed this song too!

I just love the shots of Haruna, just sitting back there smiling, while beating the crap out of those drums. Meanwhile Miyako shreds away, looking as chill and cool as ever, and Midori is her usual sparkly self. The bassist, Miho, isn't in the band anymore, sadly, but her successor, Fami, is amazing too. And Asami has got some pipes, as you just noticed. Lovebites is not what you'd call a one trick pony, they can play power/speed metal at break neck speed (Judgement Day, The Crusade), aggressive and face melting thrash metal (Break the Wall, Set the World On Fire, Hammer of Wrath, Thunder Vengeance, Dissonance), beautiful, emotional songs (Frozen Serenade, Epilogue, Edge of the World), and fun upbeat tunes (Scream For Me, Raise Some Hell, We the United), and they are very good at all of those different styles of metal. They are best experienced live by the way, they really know how to own a stage.

Before Lovebites, I was never a metal fan, and, I'm still not. I am though, a Lovebites fan. They're the first band since the late '80s (when I quit playing) that have made me want to start playing again.

I used to play just a little bit when I was younger, but never took it seriously. Than, a few months ago I bought this guitar - felt like she chose me. Anyway, here I am blabbing about it again.
