Summer of 2018, I saw this movie for the first time with my girlfriend in an outdoor cinema in south Europe. Magical atmosphere, both of us in love, happiest couple in the world. Now we both went our separate ways, but this moment and this music will forever be in my soul. Grazie maestro Ennio ❤

Where to begin? This is a love story between a young boy Toto and Alfredo, his mentor,best mate and the one who finally shattered through the ceiling of his pent up emotions. I saw this film for the first time in 1992. We had been married a year. Our choice of cinema was the magnificent GFT in Glasgow ,Scotland. I swear ,at the end of the movie, everyone stood up and gave this masterpiece a standing ovation.You know like you would if you were at a gig with your favourite band,or,say,the Berlin Philharmonic. Glasgow is very different from Sicily, but we have our fair share of wideos...as we say in these parts. We do not have a Mediterranean diet or climate. Our motto is ' People make Glasgow'. That tells you all you need to know about both, this world class film and city. Watch it. Grazie mille

This tender and moving film, a masterpiece by Giuseppe Tornatore, with the amazing music by Ennio Morricone, who will live forever, because of his exceptional work in countless movies, really touches one’s heart and makes one cry, especially at the end scene, where Salvatore (Toto), is watching touched with emotion, the best present his old friend Alfredo, would be able to offer him. Toto didn’t have his father because of the war, but the presence of Alfredo so close to him, was the perfect substitute. Alfredo, who didn’t have any children of his own, was not educated or rich, but he was very kind and ready to offer Toto all his support, in many different ways, as the boy was growing up. Their friendship was very strong, so Alfredo succeeded to persuade Toto to leave Sicily and go to Rome, where Toto became very successful finally.

Es una pelicula maravillosa,con un gran final,cuando un ya maduro niño ve la pelicula que le ha preparado su gran amigo de besos,el reconcilia con su pasado,esas lagrimas,esas risas,esa maravillosa musica,envuelve uno de los momentos mas emocionantes de esa gran pelicula.

Musica da brividi con il nostro maestro. Quante storie simili,negli anni della grande depressione. Genitori e famiglie che si spostano in massa,ma il figlio/ a che vede due realtà,diventerà un divo mettendo in gioco sè stesso( cosa aveva fa perdere con il poco o davanti una vita di sacrifici,sui ponteggi più alti,per costruire grattacieli insieme ai pellerossa ,che non soffrono vertigini..e per qualcuno è un lusso averle.Nasce un the voice,Sinatra,in De Niro,Al Pacino,Hoffman.poi,.Barbarba con un bel fisico e naso imperfetto. Un vecchio che,ha memoria di tutto questo,sà cosa consigliare ad un bambino . Taglia le radici e nostalgia,rinuncia a questo,non voltarti e vai. 🤔☝️Già ,nel periodo precedente anche un undicenne Gardel,fù messo dallo zio, sù un treno,con il violino che si rivelò poi, la sua espressione artistica. Da giovani in fondo ,è più facile rinunciare a quello che ancora non hai ( 😉) per cercare d' ottenere quello che " potresti",invece di stenti e mediocritá ripetuta ad oltranza.
