I highly recommend “Livin’ Thing”. It has the great orchestration that Amber loves, the catchy beat that ELO is known for and Jeff Lynne’s vocals are fantastic as always! Jeff is also one of the stars in the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys and they have some awesome songs as well. 🙂

1979. Lyrics about a girl who thinks she's too good for the guy she's with. Wondering why Jeff Lynne repeatedly sings the word "groose" after the song's title line? Apparently it was a made-up place-keeper word to fill a gap in the vocals when he was improvising the lyrics. When the German engineer Reinhold Mack, who also worked with QUEEN, heard the ELO front man's demo he asked Lynne how he knew "Gruss" means "greetings" in his country's language. Upon learning the German meaning, Lynne decided to leave it in. Many fans misinterpreted "groose" as "Bruce." In fact, so many people misheard the lyric that Lynne actually began to sing the word as "Bruce" for fun at live shows.

Mr. Blue Sky" is a song by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), featured on the band's seventh studio album Out of the Blue (1977). Written and produced by frontman Jeff Lynne, the song forms the fourth and final track of the "Concerto for a Rainy Day" suite, on side three of the original double album. "Mr. Blue Sky" was the second single to be taken from Out of the Blue, peaking at number 6 in the UK Singles Chart[2] and number 35 in the US Billboard Charts.[3] Maybe a hit in the UK but not in the States. I’m a big fan of ELO, I graduated HS in 77 and I don’t recall hearing this song over the radio.

“I’ll tell you once more before I get off the floor” is the lyric you were missing. Jeff does NOT have a handlebar mustache. Google mustaches in your down time, if you even have any down time! There were complaints at the company when the orchestra sounds were drowned out by the guitars, but they worked it out. Most of the songs we got on the radio were very much strings and horns. Sweet Talkin’ Woman, Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Strange Magic, Turn to Stone, Telephone Line, you have a lot of classics to choose from.

I went to two ELO concerts at the Tucson Community Center. They are the only rock band that didn't play in the arena that would seat 30,000, they played in the Music Hall that seated under 1000, where the orchestra's would play. The acoustics are perfect and there isn't a bad seat in the house. AMAZING concerts.
