I could listen to Chris talk all day. This guy shares knowledge in a comprehensive way without any boring side stuff...lol As an engineer myself, I love listening to somebody that has figured out topic completely and can talk for miles because of their knowledge level.

My speakers have to be able to reproduce "Seasons in the Abyss" as much as 1812 Oveture etc. Well said being able to play anything to be able to live with them. Great job Chris/PS Audio.

Met with Chris by chance at the UK Hifi show in September 2023, we happened to have lunch at the same table. He was a great guy to talk to and really just a nice character. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation we had at the time and enjoyed this too. Yeah. More Chris please. (No offence Paul)

Chris is da man!!!! What a great thing that a tech-weenie (I mean this in the best possible way) can also explain the complex science and art of loudspeaker design to mere mortals in an understandable way!!!! A chip off the old (Paul M) block!!!!! I've had Thiels for 40 years and now PMC's, both of which are well designed. Can't wait to hear Chris's designs

What’s going on with the sound? We are obviously hearing the camera mic, not the sm7’s.

6:45 exactly! How does said driver distort and in concert with the other components in the system. Soo many variables and everyone has different ears and opinions! I do and don’t envy your job Sir 😂

Hope you make a tri-amp speaker with eq or dsp for bass or at least powered bass. My life with my Vandersteen 5 with eq on the bass is a huge Sonic benefit.

Slayer will definitely put a speaker through its paces for sure. Im just not totally convinced that particular genre will help you for reference listening in choosing gear, then again I suppose it doesnt matter so long as the listener knows what theyre listening for.

what an interesting discussion... I wish I was there to throw my two cents worth too lol 😂 We'd be yakking all day and going round in circles probably ... I personally think speakers are like horses they have their courses. Some are particularly suitable for classical or jazz while others excel in heavy metal genres... I do believe the mid and high section drivers are of particularly high sensitivity and match that of the LF drivers on all Aspen series ... these would require 4th Order slopes in the XO networks ... high order systems also create phase and group delay problems also which need addressing ... SO ... we perfect things one way and end up compromising things in another .. We can take all the measurements in the world and end up with exemplary results .. BUT .... what if it just doesn't sound right... Speaker principles haven't really changed since the 1930's ... still moving coils and cone setup ... there's been all sorts of attempts at changing this concept but alas we still fall back on the original designs albeit highly refined.

So were those people satisfied with the Slayer performance on PS audio gear? What album were they testing?
