I always enjoy conversations with Chris. I think it would be interesting to build a stand mount speaker that is not expected to handle the low end. Great response from 70 to 30k. Then by design add a pair of great REL subwoofers to handle the low end from 25 to 80. Then place the stand mounts and the subs for optimum in room sound. Should be way better than floor standing full range in room. I guess that is what Coincident does at their high end.

Stand speakers are confusing for me. IF we have the space for the stand, why not make the speaker box bigger which optimally leads to deeper (and better) bass. Now, bookshelf speakers would make sense if you could put them on a bookshelf on or near a wall. Unfortunately, the stand mount is usually allergic to walls.

Box speakers don't really do it for me. When are we getting back to the AN line?
