Great truck!! Runs Great, sounds great! Love the story about acquiring it, and what you've done to it. I have a '55 Chevy truck. Also had a four spd (a saginaw) and 373 gears (S10 rearend), from whoever had it before me. I was taching 2700 rpm doing sixty mph on the highway. Bought a Borg Warner 5 spd from a vendor on ebay. He's in Texas, I'm in Northern California. The 5th gear is zero dot six three(My six and my four don't work on my keyboard anymore, so I have to spell out 🤷‍♂). Anyway, I tach at 1900 or 2000 rpm's now doing sixty five or 70 mph. It's great. I like how you did your exhaust too. Everything about your truck is Awesome!!! Enjoy!

Congratulations on your long time job at Ford, you deserve some time in the shop, I drive a couple of old Chevy trucks too, I would like to have some Highway gears in the 53 too, I have a 3:55.1 R&P for it it’s just finding the time to swapping it over and dealing with the closed differential, I subscribed I like your son’s Gasser, sweet build, have a great week 😆

Shes perfect!i just got a a 64 Gmc 3500 flatbed with a 305 V6 and having some problems upgrading things dut to lack of experience and it being a 1ton. But if my truck comes out half as good as yours is be happy . Really nice job. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like my brother's old 64 short box with a 350 V8 , munsie 4 speed. He had the short handle Hurst shifter. I see your wife gets the cooler truck. Isn't that always the way. Lol

Love the old school get it and go you got there! Want to do the same with my 65 C20 farm truck I just got last year,, and yeah,, its got the 283 with the granny 4 speed with the Eaton 4.57 rear end. I'm switching the rear end out for a Dana 60 3.54 this winter. If your looking to get rid of that Muncie let me know,,,,, I'm just down the road from Woodward Fab. Keep the vids coming!

Great looking truck. Looking to do something similar to mine. What size wheels and tires you have on it, 6 lug wheels ?

Hell yeah. I have a 64 short box step aside I'm getting ready to stop. So if you don't mind me asking what was your total suspension drop? I have 3 inch drop springs for the front, and 2.1/2 drop spindles. And I believe the spring kit I have for the rear is 5 inches.

Same as you I think it’s the perfect drop. Front control arms rub a little bit if you hit a big dip in the road

Awesome career at Ford, that’s cool. Is the door lettering original? I had a red short bed 63 4spd sold it for an engagement ring. :) still have the wife after 20 yrs, but I miss the truck.

I was wonder what bellhousing you all used? I have a 67 with old style bellhousing w/side mounts. Not a good idea putting a Muncie into it. But I did.
